The new official photos of the Danish Royal Family that were taken on Prince Christian's 18th birthday have been released. The photos show members of the Royal Family together, that is, Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, who gathered for the celebration of the Prince's 18th birthday.
The official portraits were taken by photographer Dennis Stenild in the Hall of Knights in the Crown Prince's family home, Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg.
Crown Princess Mary's outfit drew striking similarities to what Queen Mathilde of Belgium chose to wear during Princess Elisabeth's 18th birthday celebrations back in 2019.
ReplyDeleteThe royal ladies look beautiful in there ensembles.
ReplyDeleteKind of a giant baby. Nigella
ReplyDeleteA giant !
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder who is the tallest between Christian and Gabriel "The Tree" of Belgium??
DeleteThe boy is quite a giant. I never noticed that. I'm not convinced by the checked suit. Frederik looks best, as always. Frieda
ReplyDeleteApparently 1.90 tall! Impressive! Seems to be a very fine and likable young man .

If you look at photos of Mary during the time she lived in Australia, Christian is almost a perfect clone of her.
ReplyDeleteHis height is impressive but I do wish he'd get rid of the center part. It does absolutely nothing for him.
His teenage peers and young adult friends love his centre part. He is a member of that contemporary young, hip crowd. I suspect you are not.

Beautiful color of Mary's dress, excellent length, but the elongated ribbon from the collar is useless. The Princess of Wales has a similar dress. Both ladies - Mary and Kate - have a similar style, they look like sisters.
ReplyDeleteOf the men, I like Frederick better - bright suits (like Christian's) just don't look smart enough to me - but that's just my feeling.

I like the detail of the collar and the colour of Mary's dress.
DeletePrince Christian will be a tower of a King amongst the bevy of future Queens of Europe..thank Mary for some of his outstanding genes!
Frederik jackets need to be better tailored. The buttons generally seem to be pulling on the fabric as if the jacket is too tight
DeleteMary a une belle allure
ReplyDeleteSuper son visage dégagé
Froufrou
Excellent photos of the entire family!
ReplyDeleteP. Christian will make a dashing King one day.
(I've just seen videos of the white tie and tiara party given by his grandmother - absolutely splendid! So nice to see the many young future European Queens who attended, as well as so many other young family members and friends, and of course his brother and sisters and his cousins, all with their parents, and his grand aunts - all of them dressed to the nines.)

Fabulous pics taken to mark a turning point in P.Christian's life and in the future of the Danish Monarchy.
ReplyDeleteP. Mary's shoes are to die for.
He is big, built like his maternal grandfather !!
ReplyDeleteI'd say that he's inherited his maternal grandfather's Scottish genes.
DeleteBut above all, he's a very handsome young man and furure king.
Elegant as ever. css
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of a lovely family

Wow, he's TALL. Mary's dress/coat/whatever looks beautiful, great colour, very elegant cut.
ReplyDeleteYes , he' s quite tall but that's no surprise in Denmark.
DeleteThe Danes are generally tall people, men in particular.
Norwegian women are quite tall too.
Anyway, height can vary, of course.
I have noticed that Swedish women are not particularly tall in many cases instead.
I'm always amazed and amused at how children often grow to be taller than their parents. I understand the genetics of it, etc. but it still amazes me. My mom was 5 feet 7 inches tall and my father was 6' 2". I have two older brothers and the younger of the two is 6 feet 4 and a half inches. Our mom would always introduce him to people as her "bay boy." LOL. I used to love to tease her and say, "Mom, I think you should say, 'This is my youngest son.'" ;) No matter how big they get, they will always be your baby. If Vincent grows to be taller than Christian I wonder if Mary will refer to him has her "baby boy." :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Christian.
