Oh my, that white uniform makes Felipe look almost 20 years older. |Melanie|

I thought so as well. He'll be back to his usual debonair self once he is out of his dress whites.

    3. I think his beard makes the King look older, above all. For me beards are only ok for young men.

You are right about the beard that is what makes him older, not the white uniform.

There's nothing wrong with Felipe's beard, on the contrary! That's his secret weapon. :-) Most men look better with a beard.

Letizia wears a lovely ensemble, for a high tea with your girlfriends. This is a military ceremony wear a total different dresscode is necessary.

I think it's a "statement" from her against the military. By wearing flowers, white and pink - she symbolises the opposite, peace.

You all obviously know more of the protocol in Spain than the Queen of Spain...LOL..., So clever are people in other countries...

A military ceremony in Spain, not in your country. Also, we do not have tea or tea parties in Spain...for us tea is dirty water.

I doubt that anyone drank tea in Spain, so you have no idea about the country. Different dress code...you are the Boss of the protocol in the Casa Real of Spain, you Mark the dress code darling!!

For me, it's the lack of proper updo that makes this look casual. Had she'd worn her hair in an updo, it would have made the outfit more formal and appropriate. The outfit itself is fine, even for this occasion.

Actually, It is not a very formal event, the Minister of Defense is on a trench. Formal military events are the 12nd of october or the 6th of January.

This is a time where we know it was likely Letizia who consciously coordinated with the King, and though I'm not one for matchy-matchy (at all) I do like this combination very much. If they didn't coordinate, I wouldn't be upset either, but they both look very spring-like. The shoulders in Letizia's blouse a tad too pronounced for my preference, and I would love a jewel--do Spanish military groups do jeweled badges the way so many British ones do? I would like one, or a necklace or a bigger earring or something to fancy Letizia's look just a little bit. But overall, I really like this.

In Spain they have a few military ceremonies per year, I think Queen Letizia knows exactly what she can wear or not. There is even one ceremony which requires a long dress (can't remember the name of that ceremony). Another country, other military customs.... We all know Q. Letizia is not a fan of big jewelry.

  4. Wow! Don't they look cool and crisp in their white and coordinating colors? I King Felipe, with his rapidly greying beard and hair, and his white military uniform, looks very different, though no less handsome. Likewise, Queen Letizia is beautiful as always.

I like the blouse, skirt, print and accessories, but the whole thing doesn't suit me because it looks like a belt is too tight around the waist

  7. This is a lovely summer ensemble, casual yet smart and chic. Love the skirt, pretty and feminine. The print of the skirt is not overdone. The white blouse, I love, the design, style, gorgeous. Love the hot pink accessories, highlighting the flecks of pink within the skirt.
Her earrings are interesting, looks to be mulit colored stones, pretty. I love her hair tied back.
King Felipe, looks splendid, I don't think he looks older, in all white. He is one fine looking man, very dapper in uniform.

There is something i don't like about the skirt, but can not put my finger to it, was waiting to read the comments, but still haven't found what I miss. Maybe s bit more movement in the skirt?
But still she is a beauty, so my comment would not mean anything

With all due respect, her outfit is not appropriate for the occasion much less for a queen. Her outfit is not in sync with her husband's much less a King.
    Who dressed her??

Could you explain me "the ocasión", the meaning and where they are? After that what's wrong for a Queen? Dresses by a Spanish designer Who knows the ocasión and the Queen of Spain.
