What I love about Silvia is that she doesn't let fashion win over comfort. Both inside and outside, her outfits are just sensible and classic. I'm not the biggest fan of her coat and hat combo, but then again if it is freezing outside, I totally understand where she's coming from. The only thing I really wish she'd stop doing is donning this purple lipstick and styling her hair like she's wearing a helmet. A softer side part, some slightly less blue-y lips and I'd be fully on board!

I too wish someone would toss the purplish lipstick in the bin! But she must like it. Glad to see her wearing sensible (low) boots that keep ones feet warm. G & C

She has had that coat for ages, probably 20 years and I think the hat is equally old and why not. Both look very nice and serviceable. The last weeks have been extremely cold in this part of Sweden.

I would like to see Queen Sylvia with natural grey hair, I think it would look softer in her face, more age appropriate imo.

Didn't know Queen Silvia had the same type of hat as Queen consort Camilla. It looks like it is still very cold in Sweden. They need boots and thick coats and gloves and blankets. What an idea to organize a ceremony outside.

      We love the great outside!

    2. Has Camilla started a trend with that hat?
If so, it's certainly not a trend I'll be following.

Maybe it was Silvia who was first to wear a hat like this

  3. Tous les deux chaudement vêtus, gantés et chaussés ; j'aime beaucoup la toque de la reine Silvia qui ressemble un petit peu à celle de la reine consort Camilla mais moins imposante !

I love this lady, always classy and indeed appropriate for indoors and outdoors. I don't like her hair lately, maybe she is transitioning to a longer style?
Always wonder what does she thinks about Victoria's suits?

I think the queen is dressed appropriately for the occasion, as it is cold in Sweden, the king is very elegant and he seems relaxed, it is rare to see him smile. They both seems to enjoy the visit to Jamtland.

Nice to see Q Silvia again and she is well again. Still very cold in Sweden, so boots and coat are a must. css

Agree with all your comments. I also think that she should change her hairstyle - maybe she should have it cut a bit, she has good hair. Q. Sonja's hairstyle is far better, imo. Anyway we don't have those comments (full of hatred) about "the work that was done on her face" (plastic surgery) or her dyed hair "that makes her face harsh" - quite a lot of old ladies dye their hair.

@ Pauline. By mentioning all the comments other people made about Q. Silvia's hair and face you too are drawing the attention to this. If you think she has beautiful hair and still looks good for her age, keep quiet and keep your thoughts for yourself.

  7. The Queen looks lovely and warm. I love the addition of the silk scarf hanging off her handbag. It must be freezing still in Sweden, well to be rugged up.

Dear Pauline, Just because people, including myself, criticise Queen Sylvia’s
hair and face job, it does NOT mean that we hate her or dislike her, on the contrary. Opinions and tastes vary. Hate is something completely different and you know that but perhaps your comments serve a different purpose.
