Not all women get swollen ankles when pregnant.

By the way, could it be a private outing? If so, it would be wise not to share pictures, just feeling a bit uncomfortable (as much as i like to watch royal fashion). e.

Anon 12:16 I am right. I never got swollen ankles. Neither did my sisters or my mother. Several of my friends were not afflicted in any fashion. The women that I do know that have had swollen ankles and feet were not wearing anything but flip flops. Not all women get swollen ankles. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Every pregnancy is different.

What to say ? Not a good look for the both of them. I love the coats by Max Mara but this one I love the least. The dress worn by Eugenie is a bit too narrow for the moment. There are wider dresses in the fashion stores that would be great on her. Jack Brooksband trousers are not even ironed properly and his shoes need to be polished. The tie has not the right color. Blue in coordination with the vest would have been a good choice.

If someone a royal or not is dressed very nice I'm the first to say I like it and that the person is looking good. Here however I cannot say that. It is a fashion blog and I have the right to say what I think whether it is the King, a queen or only a Princess.

Rather odd looking combination: Dislike the headband and hair not well kept, nor much makeup. The coat sleeves need alterations to make them a little shorter, and (not seen in these two photos but on another site), a button is missing from the right side of the coat). She is either wearing no stockings at all, or they are extremely light colored, a fashion no to a wedding. The husband also looks a tad disheveled. Edwina

    Very sombre for a wedding.
The dress is too tight, a month ago it would have been okay.
Doesnot one wear striped trousers with a morning coat like Jack?
Donot know, but looks really a bit shabby.

What incredible dress expectations some of the commenters have for royals - who are after all mere humans. Why is perfection expected?! I see a couple with broad smiles, one of whom is a very pregnant woman whose dress perhaps fitted beautifully last week when she tried it and now is a bit tighter, looking far more elegant than I ever managed on my best day pregnant!, … at a private event where the press were most likely not invited. Yes it’s a fashion blog, but can’t we stay silent, or if commenting, comment in a way that wouldn’t devastate the wearers, who may stumble across this public blog and read such critical remarks?

On this blog the remarks are critical for all the kings, queens, princes and princesses who are photographed by the media or otherwise. If we must stay silent what's the purpose of a blog like this ?

I tend to not agree with your comments, she is a royal, and should keep that in mind when dressing. This is not her first pregnancy, so dressing should also have been taken into consideration. The band hat thing should be tossed. I doubt that after all the mistakes the two sisters have made over the years that they skip reading about themselves, or worry about it at all. BTW, what is your name, you forgot, or did not want to post it when its in the rules of the blog? G & C

My sentiments exactly. The York girls always get criticized no matter what. Give them a break.

@Anons 17:45 and 19:00 They are not at an official royal event. Their private lives don't need to be documented and critiqued. Attending private events means they can dress as they please. I don't see anything wrong with what she is wearing anyway. It seems a lot of people are reading between the lines when it comes to so called royal protocol.

Royal rota. British presspool, which covers royal news

Eugenie is not exactly a fashion icon. But this event is a private event, so the outfit of the royal family members should not be evaluated in the discussion.
Therefore, I urge the author of the blog not to post photos of members of the royal families from private events (family gatherings, family private vacations - unless they themselves provide the photo to the media).
Public events - that's different. When they represent the monarchy or the state, they are obliged to share their photos and accept different opinions and criticism.
    Respect privacy!

I like very much both the dress and the coat. Good quality outfits that she adapted for her current pregnancy situation. I think both York sisters are doing better now in terms of their sartorial choices that a few years back. I find they migrated towards a more classic style and steered off edgy and trendy outfits that often looked borderline caricaturist

Eugenie looks darling. Women have been wearing close fitting clothes during their pregnancies for years, avoiding maternity clothes as long as possible. A woman never looks more beautiful than when she is expecting a child. Why can't she show her body? The comments here are so harsh. What generation do you think these young women should dress like? She shouldn't wear a tent to hide her body or wear stockings like she is a granny. She should dress her age for these times, not her mother's. Stop making up rules like her legs being too light in color for a wedding. They look happy and she looks healthy. I think the only people that are bothered are the overly judgemental people behind their keyboards.

Bingo! I think that question might give you a clue as to what generation a large number of the posters on this blog seem to belong to.

A couple of points in reply, Anon 19 14. You can avoid maternity clothes (with three children, I never wore any maternity clothes but ‘sized up’) without having to wear things that cling. Secondly, many women of all ages wear stockings/tights including many royals featured here (Queen Maxima, CP Victoria, the Princess of Wales) The comment about dressing her age and not her mother’s is funny as the Duchess of York has frequently been criticised for dressing too youthfully 😂

@AnnieM The quote is, "She should dress her age FOR THESE TIMES, not her mother's." If she dressed like Sarah when she was pregnant, she would be in a white sailor dress that would fit three people. You can google the dress. It is terrible compared to today's styles. Clothes clinging are what is done now. Even maternity clothes are made to give the wearer that look (providing that is the look you want). I don't know anyone that wears tights, except with boots, except for older ladies. They will wear nude hose. By older, I would say some ladies in their 60s, none in their 50's. Bare legs have been the norm for at least 15 years.

I agree about Sarah. She has so much trouble finding an appropriate style for her age and body. She is certainly unique and I suspect a great deal of fun.

I cannot understand why anyone royal or not would want to go around in an outfit that makes them look so unattractive. She need not wear a tent. There are plenty of pleasant maternity dresses available

  12. Oh my God. Look what Brexit has done. The royals now have to use public transport (a London red bus) to go to events.
And looks like there's not much money available to buy something to "dress up" for a wedding. Save the royals and back to the European Union quick.

The coat is missing a button. Strange noone pointed that out to her or she didn't notice. Last few months of pregnancy can be quite tiring I guess.
