Queen Maxima of The Netherlands is making a four-day visit to the Kingdom of Morocco between March 20 and 23 in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. On the second day of her visit to Morocco, The Queen visited the Axa Bank in Casablanca for a round table meeting.

The luminosity of the sky is much greater in Morocco than in northern Europe.
I would have nightmares if I wore that dress. Eloise summarized it quite well. We don't want to insult or hurt feelings, but the Queen can do so much better. You never go wrong with simple business attire at a gathering like this. Look at the lady with the black suit and colorful scarf. That's the way to do it.

Oh my--big no on so many levels. The shoes are, sadly, awful for this outfit--they make her feet look like concrete blocks. The dress looks like Valentino had a bunch of leftover scraps of material and decided to put them together for a dress. And, the heavy bronzer is back. There was a site a couple of years ago that ran a best and worst of the year--this wins my vote for worst right now.

I love color and pattern so I really want to like this dress, but it’s not going to happen. Too much all over. And the shoes are too heavy, regardless of the outfit.

حذفI think because she is already a rather tall lady she does not need elevated shoes, it appears she is the tallest there!
ردحذفI think, but what do I know, is that she is tired of the cold Dutch weather and was really looking forward to using her spring wardrobe, however, Morocco's temperatures are not that hot either, hence the need for winter accessories, creating a messy look, not winter, neither spring.

Q Maxima, look at how Catherine, Princess of Wales dresses for a business meeting, please take note; Use your hairbrush, tone down the makeup, wear clothing that suits 'business casual', you do not have to try and stand out with ugly jewelry, and and even worse series of dresses thus far on this trip. ردحذفYou are maybe right about Q Maxima's outfit of today but you cannot compare the few business meetings of Princess Catherine with the agenda of Q Maxima.
حذفYes, Catherine and Mary have not yet assumed the role of queen. When they do, I do not think we would ever see a look this bad. So Queens....Letizia, Sonja, Silvia, Rania. None of these have ever been in public with such messy, unhealthy hair and such a ugly dress.

ردحذفI agree with everyone's opinion regarding Maximas look being totally out of place. I've noticed many royal women have been very relaxed in their attire. I'm glad their now comfortable in their roles, but too much dressing down for meetings, or overdressed costum attire, or too much skin being shown for the official events. High dress slits should be for private outings. I'm afraid of how the next generation will be dressing.- A Summer

She is not representing her country. She is there as special advocate of the UN. There is a big difference with being on state visit. Then she is representing her country.
حذفI can't help but wonder what the comments would have been if f.i. Princess Charlene would have worn this dress.... I don't like it very much either, but I can't help but think that Queen Maxima, who in my opinion demonstrates to be an 'out of the box' person, is an 'easy target' is 'for readers of this blog who go for predictable and 'safe'. Do some people really think she goes out with unwashed, unkempt hair?! Of course it has been washed and combed, but although many of us don't like this style apparently the queen does.... good for her!

You almost never read any negatives about her, in my humble opinion, horribly boring hairstyle , black grey camel monochrome coats and dresses .Maxima at least looks alive, she is not afraid of standing out. As you say she is completely out of the box, but I don’t think she deserves so harsh critics.
