Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit both turn 50 this year. The Crown Prince couple will celebrate this 50th anniversary with five trips they will make in Norway during the spring of 2023. The Crown Prince turns 50 on July 20 while the Crown Princess celebrates her birthday on August 19. The Crown Prince and Princess’ wedding anniversary, August 25, has been chosen as the day for the joint celebration of their birthday.
As a start of their five trips, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess visited Rauland Academy (Raulandsakademiet) in Vinje municipality on March 27, 2023. Rauland Academy is a course and activity center located in the center of Rauland and is the place in Norway that offers the most courses in traditional crafts.
What a cold winter day for an event, but the Princess looks lovely in two rich colors that complement each other as well as her hair and complexion. I love the genuine interaction with the group and this amazing royal couple! Gloves and matching purse add a finished touch.

ردحذفThese two are one of my favorite royal couples. M-M is beautiful and looks happy and healthy. Haakon is handsome, as always. Their matching blue outfits are very nice. I love to see them together...they have that look of love.

ردحذفM-M is not wearing glasses--she is wearing protective eye-wear as is Haakon. Guess they were participating in or watching a craft that could do something that could harm a person's eyes.

Humble apologies. I blame my own poor eyesight and you are all quite right, of course. They are indeed safety glasses. However, she has previously worn pale frameless glasses which don’t do her any favours. Safety glasses it is in this case, though. Sorry

ردحذفA little fun fact MM has herself taken 3 courses on weaving on the Rauland Academy, and has her own loom at home. Last weak she took a course on the weaving technique Krokbragd. You will find videos on the teqnique on you tube if you are interessted. Right now she is weaving a Telemark tapestry/beadspread/cover, not sure what she is gonna use it as ;)
