  1. Queen Maxima looks gorgeous, as usual, in her green gown and emerald and diamond jewels. The Slovakian president was equally gorgeous in her sapphire colored gown. Wouldn't it have been grand if she had been able to wear a sapphire tiara? King Willem looked very nice as did the First Gentleman.

I agree 100%. The president looks fab, as does Queen Maxima. One has to agree that Jan Taminiau makes wonderful evening dresses.

The shoes, well, why plateau? Not elegant all, but indeed it needs artistic skills…

The two ladies look indeed alike. How blond is Maxima now (compare to 23 years ago)
I think she looks good, but that dress needs more support for the front area.

  5. The Queen looks beautiful in her lace gown. Her emerald and diamond jewels look splendid. I do prefer the blue gown with the soft bow on the shoulder, the light embellishments on the shoulder and bow are a beautiful addition. This is a well made gown. It fits well, I love the design. The skirt has movement and moves gracefully. Very elegant.

Usually Maxima is the Queen of Gala outfits, but this time there is something about this look that I don’t like.. maybe it’s because the top of the dress almost looks like body painting to me. The color is lovely though and the lower part of the dress is beautiful, gorgeous jewelry as usual. But still… I don’t think it’s her best gala look.

Totally agree. It looks too tight or body painted as you say. I’m not a fan of nude lining under lace. It has this strange effect.
The President’s blue gown is very beautiful.

I agree, it's the first thing one notices. The top part of the dress needs more structure or fitting in it's design. And there is something off with her hairstyle and placing of the tiara too.

One of Jan Taminiau's beautiful gala dresses. Queen Maxima looks very good. I think she didn't look in the mirror when she put on her tiara. The biggest stone is not placed in the middle of her forehead and the biggest stone of her necklace is not in the middle of her neckline. Can happen. I wonder why she always must wear a tiara (even a little one). Especially when your host is not a queen but a president.

Agree, it all looks as if done in great haste. The hair is sloppy too, and she definitely needs better underwear with this dress.
      The president looks marvelous,

Agree, it seems to be a black tie event. So why the tiara, and really a bit schief. e.

    3. It was once absolutely common to wear tiara on almost any formal occasion during state visits, no matter the visited country being a monarchy, too, or a republic. And there's no written down rule when to wear or not to wear tiara. Generally, it can be assumed that tiaras went along with white tie events mostly, but they were seen almost as equally as often at black tie events. The latter situation has changed most recently a little. Tiaras are no longer worn that frequently for black tie occasion. Also, some monarchies go a little further and have moved away from wearing diadems when visiting a republic. But this are very individual choices, very much depending on the diplomatic exchange of both countries, what protocol has to say to it, what the general preferences on both sides are. As a rule, one can safely say that there are not that many rules in place anyway, all is done to prior arrangement and consultation.

There aren’t many times Maxima is pipped to the post, when it comes to evening attire! But, this is one of them. The President dress,is beautiful. The careful detail of the bow, with a sprinkle of sparkle on the shoulder, elevates the dress, without making it too busy!
Maxima dress, the fact you can see the seam of the zip, is disappointing, especially since it’s a bespoke gown, and not off the rack! However, as always Maxima doesn’t disappoint with her jewellery! The Dutch RF have some of the most exquisite pieces of jewellery in their vaults, and Maxima wears them well. Bea

    5. Thanks for the information but I think I have found an answer to my own question.
Yes, the man in question is Juraj Rizman. He is the 47 year old partner of President Zuzana Čaputová.
      Divorced with a son.
I’ve found some photos of him on the net showing him with a ponytail haircut, and wearing an earring in his left ear. They seem to be recent photos. Not photos of him when he was a teenager.
He has quite a noticeable tattoo on his right shoulder.
Looks like he has had to conventionalise his look and finish with the ponytail haircut and the earring. Of course, his shirt/suit covers the tattoo. .
He has a slightly shorter haircut now.
On one site he is described as Zuzana Strapáková’s “domestic” partner.
I wonder what title they give to their cat or dog.
In house dog, for example. The live-in cat.
I wonder if @Tulipe33 has seen his photo/s……. aïe, aïe, aïe

Back at her studies most likely, as she should be. She doesn't need to attend international state visits with her parents at this stage of her young life. That will come in the years ahead. (Visiting the foreign realm of her own country is a different matter).

Maxima has to pay attention to her posture: in the picture where everybody is standing ( playing of national hymn.) her hanging shoulders are just awfull.

Both ladies are wearing beautiful gowns. The President is very elegant and, while I really like Maxima's dress, I feel something is a bit off with the bodice. Maxima looks wonderful but I think the tiara is off center or her hairstyle is not cooperating with the tiara. Still, I love seeing the jewels back out along with the evening attire.
