The silhouette on this dress flatters Maxima. I'm not in love with the fluffy collar, but like the overall dark tone of the dress. Her makeup could use a refresh, some lightening up.
Beatrix looks good, and Laurentien is her usual quirky self (in which she is coordinating with Maxima, so I actually don't mind this look).

  2. Only Princess Laurentien can out max Max! Although her outfit is a hodgepodge of patterns, somehow it all works. What is off-putting (to me) is the pea-green overlarge earrings. Her hair is no longer spiked and looks very good. Princess Beatrix looks overjoyed, standing between her sons. Her interaction with King W-A is very endearing. Although I think Queen Maxima's dress is a wee bit short, she looks radiant. The blue suits of the King and Prince Constantijn coordinate well with their wives' outfits. I love their smiling faces!

    1. Agree with Debra on Princess Laurentien. Along with Maxima they are one of a kind. How lucky Princess Beatrix is to have two daughters-in- law like that.
Opps, fashion ....... like Queen Maxima's dress (albeit a bit short).
A good choice for the occasion. Princess Beatrix is being faithful to her dress code.
      Congratulations to the award winners.

Princess Beatrix for the win for me--elegant, sophisticated, and polished. I like Maxima's dress but those feathers are a total no for me. Also the super stiff fabric of the dress makes the skirt too bell-shaped for me. Wish the cut were more narrow. I really like Laurentian's shoes but the coat/duster/jacket--looks like the designer ran of two bolts of fabric and decided the sew them together for a fashion fail.

I really like the queen's outfit, the feathers might not be everybody's cup of tea, but they suit her personality and make it a "Maxima dress". Also well done with the rather minimalist jewellery. My only quibble is the hair - the first outing with the updo was definitely more polished. Beatrix looks good too and nicely fits the brocade theme that seems to be going on. Not a fan of Laurentien's bathrobe.

  7. Désolée de dire cela mais de toutes, c'est la princesse Beatrix qui a ma préférence ; élégante dans cette tunique imprimée sur un pantalon noir mais qu'il est dommage de ne pas mieux voir ses bijoux !

I feel supported by comments on a Dutch site to write my opinion after someone wrote last week that Maxima always gets negative comments.
I think this beautifull dress is too small and too short and the model is oldfashioned.
Princess Beatrix wears a beautifull top, and is well groomed as always.
And Laurentien: the pattern on the coat is lovely, I think a combination with simple trousers and top in one colour could have been better.

I like Maxima's dress, but it would have looked so much better with dark blue 10 denier stockings.

  11. The Queen looks splendid. I love the cut and style of her dress, this suits her beautifully. I love the length of her dress. I am not a fan of the collar and hem fluffy piece. Regardless overall, fabulous. Love her accessories. Pss Laurentien looks great, her unusual, patterned coat looks wonderful. Princess Beatrix looks elegant.
