  1. Very impressive jewellery all around.
And some spectacular gowns. Margrethe stunning in blue, Silvia´s light blue is nice too, though a bit loose of her. I like both Benedikte and Anne-Marie in their respective shades of green (Anne-Marie is divine and my favourite). Jennie and Mary in black - both good but not wow (Mary´s would be wow if it didn´t look like crabs crawling around on her skirt). And while Marie´s yellow gown is fresh and elegant with a fun twist (fringe at sleeves), I find Sonja´s dress extremely dated. Unfortunately, many of her bigger gowns look like leftovers from the 80s, including this one and the blue one from the night before. The PM´s gown is a bit too much - too big, too bold, too much cleavage.
PS. Did Mary have her tiara altered again? It looks much "denser" now.

  3. Queen Silvia looks stunning, gorgeous gown, her accessories completed the look beautifully, love her choice of jewels. Pss Bene and Queen Anne Marie looked beautiful. I believe CP Mary's dress had a make over. Her jewels again stunning. Pss Marie's dress is very becoming, suits her beautifully. I love the black gown, superb, fit and design.

  4. Mary's dress is stunning, really stunning. Who is the lady with the red dress and the unfortunate cleavage?
This summer, I was in Roskilde cathedral and learned that there is already a sarcophagus prepared for the Queen, this must really be a powerful reminder of your own mortality if you can go and have a look at your sarcophagus any day. :-)

She is the former PM of Denmark!

The lady in red is the former premier minister of Denmark Helle Thorning-Schmidt.

  6. My favourite (meaning the most appropriate for the lady who wears it) is Qn Silvia, followed by Prcss Marie and Qn Margret. I don't like Mary's dress on this occasion.

  7. What a visual feast! Everyone looks fantastic! My favorite is Queen Anne-Marie (those emeralds, oh my goodness!) but I love Marie's fringe, QMargrethe's pale blue velvet, and while I don't love the cleavage on the former PM, she looks great in that dress and color. Mary looks gorgeous as usual but my only nit pick is I would have chosen a darker color lipstick for her. Her face looks a bit pale. But I love her hair down with her tiara and her dress is beautiful.

The best dressed royal is Queen Silvia (again). Her dress has an modern shape I like the cut very well. After her it is CP Mary's dress I like a lot. I read in a Dutch magazine that she had made from an older golden dress an underdress and choose an overlay in black lace. That is a big example of sustainability. The jewelry chosen by almost all the royal ladies is overdone. If you have to wear a rather big tiara you should not add a big necklace but only small earrings. Plus they all wear that order of "The Elephant" if that is what I think it is. It ruins the beauty of their jewels and dresses, but I assume it is tradition and more or less an obligation. I wonder who is the woman in red on the 14th picture wearing almost no jewelry but a very low neckline ?

I would like to add that in the meantime I know who is the woman in red: the former prime Minister of Denmark. I read it in the reactions of the other bloggers.

Mary alters dresses and jewelry on a regular basis. There must be a lot of work behind it but usually it's not for the better.

  10. I understand is a big celebration for queen Margrethe, but such an over display of jewelry, so ostentatious. Most of the outfits, but for the lady in red and the one in black, look very old fashioned, and the men in their uniforms.... not in tune with 2022.

Therefore, in order to not be ostentatious, they re-wear older gowns that are still magnificently beautiful. … Sofia

What lovely gown. Q Ann Marie of Greece wore a beautiful green gown not over the top or understated, so did Pss Marie of Denmark. The men in uniform and all the hardware on the chest, or Tuxedos look fantastic. I don't like the come as you are getting togethers. wish I was there. css

Please note that the men are
n o t wearing tuxedos. They, if not in uniform, are wearing white tie and tails, S more formal garment than a tux.

What fantastic jewelry. QMargareth looks stunning as well as QSonja. This time don't like the lace dress of Benedikte esp the wide sleeves, although beautiful colour. Mary not my cup of tea this lace dress. Too busy.As I do not like this crown in general at all, unless with a very simple dress, now the wrong choice. She had better chosen simple jewelry without coloured gemstones, just diamonds.

The best for me is Crown Princess Mary just beautiful then Princess Benedikte. I find the color of Princess Marie's dress washes her out the fluffy edge on the sleeves do not enhance the look.

Let me add that Eliza Reid’s dress is very becoming. The V-neck is very flattering.

CP Mary’s dress is very pretty, perhaps the black is a tribute to QE, since Mary is from Australia a commonwealth country. Love that the ladies re wear dresses, they are all so beautiful.

Don't think they could alter her golden dress with the black lace that quickly. QE dies on thursday and this took place on Sunday.

  17. Queen Sonja looks lovely as always. Such great taste. Mary's tiara looks denser to me as well. I do not like her dress either. The Queen's dress looks to be of velvet. Quite heavy looking.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but: Is Mary's dress a re-design from an old one? Just curious! I love it either way! :)
