On August 31, Crown Princess Victora of Sweden attended the naming ceremony of the new lock in Slussen. Crown Princess Victoria named the new lock the Victoriaslussen (Victoria Lock) and put the southern discharge hatch into operation. The City of Stockholm decided on 1 December 2021 that the new lock facility will be called the "Victoriaslussen" (Victoria Lock). The new lock facility consists of two discharge channels and one lock channel.

Slussen’s lock allows boats to transit between Lake Mälaren and the bay leading to the Baltic Sea. The lock also acts as one of the gates between freshwater (Mälaren) and saltwater areas (Baltic Sea), thereby playing a key role in the provision of clean water. Slussen is an area of central Stockholm, on the Söderström river, connecting Södermalm and Gamla stan.

Victoria is getting more and more beautiful every year imo. She seems self confident and that is maybe why she looks so good. The only thing I don’t like here is her footwear. High heels like the ones on the model would have been the perfect choice. Maybe she is like the rest of us… she prefers comfortable shoes…

    2. Whilst on the all important subject of comfortable footwear, I expect to see, any day now, the return of Camilla with her comfortable boots.
Hope the cobbler has done a good job on them as they'll probablly have to server her through yet another winter ;-)).
Will there be an official re-booting day with the date announced by the Palace?

Really inappropriate shoes buried the whole outfit. Maybe these shoes are comfortable, but this event - the grand opening - can take about an hour or two. More subtle slim heels would be more elegant. It's not like she has to stand somewhere for 6 hours if she works as a teacher, for example.

  3. Not my favourite suit, though I like both the colour and the belted look. The trousers are all wrong in my view, they look flimsy, they are too short and they don´t fit well. With a straight cut, full length legs, a better material and better fit this would be nice. Oh, and with different shoes. I think some simple dark blue sandals had been a million times better than these boots (which clash in every way - colour, material, season, style).

    1. I prefer the trousers like the model : straight cut but I like the length of the model (7/8 if that is the right way of expressing it) with high heels. And I think she is a bit too short for the length of the jacket.

CP Victoria looks wonderful in her suit--blue is a great color for her. I do wish she would not wear the too-heavy looking boots with this suit. A pair of shoes would look better--as seen in the photo of model.

  5. This is a rewear. Princess Victoria wore it in October 2021 whilst visiting Örebro in Sweden. I don't find anything special about the suit and baby blue is not my favourite colour. Maybe it's a practical tenue for the weather between the two seasons - summer/autumn, when the weather is starting to chill down.

  7. I'm not quite sure what it is but the CP looks radiant. The color of the suit, is very pretty, soft, suits her well. I like the suit, not sure about the boots.

I think this suit is very smart and the lovely blue is very becoming. If you look at the surroundings, elegant shoes would be unsuitable and perhaps even dangerous, however, I do not fancy these black boots with the heavy look. Perhaps college shoes would have been ideal.

@Virginia. What are college shoes ? Is it what we call "mocassins" ?
I think that type of shoe would be nice and appropriate for the ceremony.
