On August 23-25, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark is making a three-day working visit to the capital Nuuk in Greenland together with the Mary Foundation. On the first day of her visit, the Crown Princess participated in several activities organized by the WWF World Nature Foundation together with a primary school class.

I do have a soft spot for cable knit sweaters—they are so classic and cozy. Mary looks happy and at ease in this class with the children. One of her best photos.

At least they had rain (4th picture). My garden is still waiting to have a bit of rain. Today the weather forecasts is 31° Celsius and tomorrow 32°.
CP Mary looks lovely in her casual clothes, so relax with the children.

  8. Tenue de travail simple mais idéale pour le premier jour de cette visite en extérieur ; son petit pull torsadé me paraît bien confortable ; j'aime beaucoup sa couleur !

  9. I am mad about that coat. It looks so comfortable and practical. That is if it really is a coat and not bicycle riding rain gear like a poncho. Not sure from the second photograph.

  10. Looking at Princess Mary’s ensemble (which I like) this is what I see.
A white shirt and jeans. A cable knit pullover. After that there is the sleeveless undercoat and this is where it starts to get interesting for me. .
I think Princess Mary is wearing a modern day version of the classic, Scottish Mackintosh (a Mac, a raincoat).
And, I think the undercoat could be part and parcel of the Mackintosh coat.
So dear fellow bloggers, correct me if I’m wrong or if you have more information on the coat and undercoat, please tell us.
The history of the Scottish Mackintosh (rain) coat goes back a good 100 years or so.
It is a must for the horses and hounds brigade and part of upmarket English country fashion.
Good information on the Mac can be found on the following link …….

p.s. the cap seems to be of inspiration from Sherlock Holmes. And the bulky scarf, maybe a gift from one of her fans.

    1. Sorry but after a second look, I've noted that the inner coat does have sleeves. It's not a long waistcoat as I thought it was. Time for me to give my reading glasses a good wash and clean up.
Have also noticed that more photos have come on the site since I made my first comment. It appears that the raincoat has nothing to do with Mackintosh but is from MACAGE, a Montreal company in Canada, founded in 1999.
Mackintosh is old Scottish tradition which has been around for a good 100 years whereas Macage is a modern, fashion outerwear company which has existed for about 20 years.

The new raincoat with those sleeves look very unpractical when collecting garbage - photo 2. Actually a bit silly. Also don't like the hat.
