King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are paying an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates. On the last day of their visit to Oman, the King and Queen of Belgium attended the official opening of the port of Duqm and visited Hyport which is a large-scale production site for green hydrogen. Both projects are the result of Belgian-Omanian cooperation. Queen Mathilde's outfit is by Belgian fashion house Natan.

I don´t like this. It is not elegant in my opinion.

Oh Mathilda, you are a lovely woman, but Natan does absolutely NOTHING for you. Please consider a different designer.

I agree, Marie. Also, solid dark colors would minimize her large frame. She is a very lovely queen.

    2. Agree 100% , Marie. This just does nothing for lovely Queen Mathilde

  5. Oh la la, quel changement par rapport à la robe et au châle d'hier qui étaient sublimes ; il a fallu qu'elle ressorte Natan de ses valises !

  7. Still wondering when Natan will be sent to a desert island...
... or did someone secretly rescue him to bring him back.

Unlike many, I'm not that negative about QM's outfit today. I think it's suitable for the visit, but the tailoring of the pants could have been better. In my opinion, such a combination requires a pair of flats instead of the stilettos she wears.

It's a mystery to me why KP doesn't wear a lighter coloured suit in this climate...

If you look at all the photos on this trip there are gentlemen in the background and they all wear dark suits. There are dark suits in a light fabric. I only saw King Philippe in lighter or brighter colours during his free time on vacation or sport events. After all he is on a state visit.
About the pants of Queen Mathilde, I noticed that they are narrower than on the model. Also the top has a different shape.

I saw other photos in Belgium. To go where they are now they had to take an helicopter first. Then they were on a boat to visit the port of Duqm. I think her outfit of today does not have to be elegant in the first place but light and easy to wear. I think the cotton outfit is perfect for this visit and for the climate in these regions. Today you cannot expect Mathilde wearing an outfit similar to the one at the mosque. When Queen Maxima visited Abu Dhabi and Dubai last year she had the same outfit in green.
Some of the bloggers automatically say it is bad when they see the name of Natan. Until now, the only new dress Queen Mathilde brought on this trip is the one of the first day by Johanna Ortiz . At least she cannot be accused of spending too much money on clothes. She is aware of the ecological and climate problems and wear her clothes several times. To a great number of people this is more important than fashion.

One would think that if the outfit was chosen based on comfort she won’t be wearing high heels. I dislike this outfit on its entirety, design, tailoring and fabric.

Something between a pijama and a tapestry...what a pity! Usually she has style.

  12. I have no problem with this outfit style wise for this engagement. The colors are nice for Mathilde. What I do have a problem with is the fit, it just seems off. A better tailor would make this sensational.

  13. I'm OK with the outfit except for its fit--once again, Natan doesn't understand how to fit Mathilde. I love the color for her and think she looks lovely--the photo of her seated in the red chair makes her look very beautiful and elegant.

Thank you Janet at least someone who is not so negative about the way Queen Mathilde is dressed.
I think the visit of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde is very much appreciated in Oman and the Arab Emirates.

  14. The Queen looks quite presentable. I love the photo of her sitting in the red velvet? chair. Poised, ladylike, elegant, simply beautiful. The side profile highlights her up do which I love its very. The colour of her shoes and clutch are fabulous.

Once again I agree with you, Ava!
I just want to say that flats might have been more comfy on this occasion.
I think Queen Mathilde considered first how practical her outfit could be on this trip, not exactly the easiest one as to means of transport used and the local climate.
Then, all in all, I have to say: well done, Q.Mathilde!

Queen Mathilde is too smart and too intelligent to take note of all those remarks about the way she dresses. She must get used to it by now whether she is wearing Nathan or another designer the same remarks are coming back. And I think I know from which country (countries) it comes.

Respectfully, I disagree with you, I don’t see any comments coming from any particular kind of people or any particular country. 99% of the opinions are strictly about fashion, they are discerning and objective, nobody is talking about her body or character. This is exactly what this forum is about. I find Mathilde charming, her face is lovely and her smile his so engaging, however I don’t always like what she wears, and I say so. I think you are confusing honest fashion critique with social media trolling, and that is not the case, unless you want to hijack the post and make it into something that isn’t.

Sadly, this is a misstep. The outfit/pants, looks like it was taken and made out of the carpet fabric.

  18. Nice outfit, the color and print of the fabric suit queen M. She is tall enough for such a print.
