Princess Eugenie shared a photo from her son August‘s christening

August Brooksbank and Lucas Tindall were christened at All Saints Chapel, Royal Lodge

Princess Eugenie shared a new year greeting and some photos of the important moments of 2021. In November, Princess Eugenie's first child, August, was christened at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor in the presence of Queen Elizabeth. Princess Eugenie shared a never-before-seen photo of her son, which was taken as she cradled him while inside the chapel. August was wearing the Honiton lace christening gown.

August Brooksbank was christened together with Zara Tindall's son Lucas in a joint ceremony. Princess Eugenie's cousin, Zara Tindall, welcomed her third child earlier this year, and is also seen in the background, cradling her own baby, Lucas.

Eugenie also reflected on some of the sadder moments of the year, as she shared some photos of her grandfather, Prince Philip, who passed away in April. In her greeting, Princess Eugenie wrote: "Happy New Year to all.. Goodbye 2021. A year that blessed us with our boy and saw our family grow with new additions but also a year that took some of our biggest and brightest lights. Forever in our hearts."

This is a picture you shouldn’t send: or you send a picture full face, or you donot send it at all.

  2. Photo partagée ? Mignon profil d' August mais j'aurais aimé mieux le voir surtout dans sa robe de baptême en dentelle !

How very charming to have a partial portrait of the Honiton lace christening gown. I could have missed the back part of a baby's head without a painful feeling of genuine loss. (-Ann.)

Apparently it is not only Harry and Meghan that don't show their youngest child Lily full face. Will it become a custom among royal babies. Security is so important these days. Perhaps Princess Eugenie is just following the instructions she receives from the security people who protect her and her family.

Absolutely, furthermore these children are very far down the list to the throne , unlike the Cambridge’s that are obligated to share their pictures with the public.
I am personally not curious to see their faces, and respect the parents decision to have them have a private and to a certain extent more normal childhood.
      The Christening gown is lovely!
      Congratulations.

How wonderful that the Eugenie and Zara could have a joint christening for their sons, with their beloved Grandmother in attendance. Zara made the decision to forgo the use of the Honiton lace gown for Lucas, which is more in line with her lifestyle. She seems so easy going. It must have been a joyous event for the family, following the sorrow of the past year.

I am dismayed, yet again, at the comments above. I can't decide if it is out of naïveté, ignorance, or selfishness that the same remarks continue to be made. Not one of you would have allowed your children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews to be subjected to any potential risk, yet you expect these very public people to do that very thing for you. Bad things happen to children who live common lives. The odds go up immeasurably for children who live in the public eye. It is not just about a person hiding in the shrubbery. Since you don't seem to understand, research what can happen with a picture of a child on the seedy side of the internet. I promise you, it is far worse than anything you can imagine. Stop thinking of yourselves and think of these families first. We are not owed any pictures. What is shared is a courtesy. ~d

@-d, "I am dismayed, yet again, at the comments above.", you worte. If you feel that it is necessary to give others a lecture about how you feel morally superior with all your views - so be it, dear d. But you miss one important point: The York princesses do not have to publish anything at all. Nobody is indignant if they don't. They have a right not to, for whatever reasons. Those who follow the royals read about the christening earlier, so we are all informed. The christening gown is well known from other christenings. So all is well, all would be well, if nothing has been published. But if if we are presented with the back of a head, then those who feel like it may comment on it quite as they like to. I for one find this utterly ridiculous. The information content is equal to zero - except that her son wore the Honiton lace. If you choose to call this courtesy, please do it - but let others feel and express themselves in a different way which is not worse than or inferior to your opinion. So I feel free to call this photo outright ridiculous. Once more: not to show us anything would have been perfectly all right. (-Ann.)

Ann, thank you for your pleasant and valid post! I share your sentiments; there is no need to show any pictures, and nobody would suffer a loss of any sorts. - Ellie

@~d.: what is shared is not any courtesy. Its a mean to make money, since every picture before being published is authorized by the royal palace and duly paid.

What utter rubbish! You are showing your lack of knowledge and awareness. This photo is from Eugenie's Instagram account which is public and free. Even I first saw it there before here. Anyone has access to images there..which is why she - and millions of parents - do not show the faces of their toddlers and children online. Anyone can do anything with those innocent photos.

@~d: Well said! Only those without morals would see your words as morally superior.

@Anonymous 16.22: you who don't hesitate a second to call rubbish my post, you must be very ignorant in matter of law.
The fact that a social network is freely accessible and the profile is public, doesnt mean that images found in it can be used by everyone. So to make it short, there must be an explicit consent by the author to the use of pictures, and newspapers pay for this consent.
Next time, before giving lectures, have a look at the Copyright laws articles.

For goodness sakes, she and husband posted full frontal face photo of the baby, when he was an infant, what's with hiding it now? They have protection, they have $$ for protection, if they don't want to show the child's face, then dont post a 'half face' photo at all. Angelica

I do not understand why these noble people want to put an old lace Christening gown to their baby. It is yellow instead of off-white. Maybe the gown is something special but I don't like it, not on this child and not on any other baby. It belongs in a museum so return it there where it can be admired by every visitor.

If I remember it correctly, the ORIGINAL Christening gown (ie. the one made for queen Victoria's children, about 170 years old) is in a museum. It could not be used any more because it started to break apart. A new gown was made - a copy of the original - and is used by the young generation.

Creo que si no quiere mostrar al bebé está en su derecho pero no entiendo el ansia por poner algo en las redes y dejar a la gente con la miel en los labios.
Si quieren anonimato es muy fácil no pongan nada.
