The DKK 300,000 prizes and statuettes are presented to the awardees during the annual Session of the Nordic Council which takes place in the late autumn. The purpose of the cultural prizes is to increase interest in the Nordic countries' literature, languages, films and music while the environmental prize aims to reward the extraordinary efforts for ensuring a sustainable Nordic region. The Danish delegation to the Nordic Council organized this year’s awards ceremony, hosted by actor Jakob Oftebro.

  1. Oh dear! Oh dear can it get any worse? He finally remembered to brush his hair but instead he is exploding out of his suit coat. Mary forgot to make him put his telephone away (I think that is what is in his inside left breast pocket) and the trousers are too long and the coat does not fit properly at all. I think maybe his brothers suit landed up in his wardrobe by accident and he did not even notice and just climbed into it. Either that or he has taken up weight lifting and has just got too muscular for his clothes.
    Mary as always impeccable.

      I agree with nalerina.

Frederik & Joachim present themselves differently. Fred can't seem to look elegant or distinguished in the way he dresses or stands or walks. It's just the way he is. Joachim on the other hand manages to look well put-together at all times.

They are what they are. Mary always looks very good even if sometimes the dress isn't totally "her". Seriously, sometimes you'd think Mary is the born royal & Fred has married in.

    5. @nalerina. Agree with your observations. Prince Frederik is at home when he's wearing his sporting clothes. Otherwise he's not a good dresser. Certainly no where near the standard of Prince Daniel.
I think he has hired a 'rent-a-suit-for-the-day' as nothing seems to fit.
But then some of us find it sexy when our men are a bit scruffy and unkempt around the edges.
      To each their own.
Opps, Princess Mary has found a winner with her Raquel Diniz frock.

In the publicity for the Raquel Diniz Fashion site on the internet, it says that she is a Brazilian Fashion Designer who founded her own brand. They say that her dresses can be summarized in three key words: Lightness, Grace and Femininity.

  2. CP Mary is lovely in one of my favorite dresses--she looks great in red. Adding the black belt--which looks a bit sparkly--was a nice change in this outing. Love that CP Frederik joined his wife at her event as he will joining his mother on a state visit soon.

  3. I think the coat looks odd because he has his arm around her and it is being pulled to the side. The pants are too long I agree.

Mary looks simply wonderful in red. Another winner look from her.
I don't know how she does it but she rarely misses with her fashion choices and its always interesting to see what she has choosen this time (whether its her clothes or hairstyle).

  5. La couleur rouge est toujours un bon choix ; elle est magnifique surtout qu'elle a mis une ceinture noire !

I love this dress Mary has chosen. The belt just adds that silhouette to her figure. This is a winner rarely does she get it wrong. Mary

  7. I think CP Mary's dress is fantastic. She looks beautiful in red, and I'm usually not a fan of belts, but this one is lovely. I do find her makeup a tad heavy for her, but her hair is magnificent.

    I agree.
I guess she wore heavy makeup because of the strong lights which tend to make faces look almost pale.
This awards ceremony was probably televised , so there must have been also lights from the cameras in front of her.
This is typical of the so called TV makeup, which basically consists of foundations with particular textures, plus contouring and fixing products in order to have a photoshop- like result with no fall overs and sweating.
I have a penchant for both hair and makeup techniques!
