The Duke of Edinburgh had been closely associated with The Rifles and its earlier regiments for almost 70 years. In July 2020, The Duchess of Cornwall took over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles from her father-in-law, The Duke of Edinburgh, during two ceremonies at Highgrove and Windsor Castle.

  2. DCamilla is looking good. Always more elegant and sophisticated in evening gowns than in day-dresses. Her emerald and diamond necklace is probably worth a fortune but I don't like it, too big. Another thinner diamond necklace would have been better. Countess Sophie is looking lovely in this shade of blue. A pity the upper part of the dress is ill fitting, not a good choice for her type of body. It makes her thick which she isn't. Her jewels are chique and elegant.

  3. What a stunning necklace with huge emeralds and diamonds. Never seen it before. Together with the simple black velvet gown the look is superb. The evening gown of the countess of Wessex is really nice, but it 's more for a summer season

  5. OMG!! Sophie is wearing a sleeveless dress, can’t wait to see if she gets the same punishment from the bloggers as Letizia got in Sweden…. :-)

    1. Well even though I prefer Sophie's arms over those of QL (but that's a personal preference), I feel the dress has a too summery vibe where's it's late winter in Europe. imo it calls for either cap or long sleeves.

    2. Agree with you on both points, MCS. Sophie’s dress seems to me to be more appropriate for summer and I don’t think the sleeveless style is ideal for her any more than it was for Letizia. Beautiful colour though. From what we can see, the Duchess of Gloucester looks terrific as does the Duchess of Cornwall.

  6. Black and other dark colours suits beautifully on Camilla.
Sophie's dress is not nice on her or on the model. -Siri

Both Royal ladies look lovely. The emeralds Camilla is wearing are really offset beautifully with the colour of her gown, which looks very becoming on. Sophie's dress is a wonderful colour, she looks stunning, but the bodice seems somewhat "boxy' to me, regardless love her clutch and brooch.

  8. Camilla looks great and I love the emerald necklace. Sophie looks fine but I think the overall image is spoilt by her hairstyle. For this outfit it needs a fuller updo which would balance everything and show off the the dress which at the moment is looking a bit blah. A radical rethink on Sophie's hair would just make all the difference.

  10. Think all of the royal ladies look wonderful, but DoCornwall stands out for me - she always looks polished, and sophisticated for her gala evenings, and brings out the jewels. This emerald set has been seen a few times now - according to the oracle that is queensjewelvault.blogspot.com ...
'What is assumed to be the last of the three demi-parures (one ruby, one sapphire, and one emerald) collected by The Duchess of Cornwall on her March 2006 trip to Saudi Arabia with The Prince of Wales was finally debuted in June 2009, at a Royal Gala Performance of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens.. 11. I think that the ladies looks lovely, all of them, do not mind the slightly oversized dress on Sophie. I do mind that she seems to be wearing brown shoes...? The rest is really nice.

  12. Am I seeing things or has an emerald dropped out of its setting in picture 4? It may be the clasp that just twisted round but it looks ver strange. She always looks stunning in black and a deep decolleté.
