Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended a memorial service at Kongsberg Church held in memory of the five people who were killed by a Danish-Norwegian man in the Norwegian city Kongsberg on Wednesday. The service started at 11 am and was followed by an event at the town hall in Kongsberg, where the Crown Prince and Crown Princess also attended.

On Wednesday evening, the 37-year-old Espen Andersen Bråthen took the lives of four women and a man with a bow and arrow. A police officer was among three others injured. Braathen is a Danish citizen but has lived in Kongsberg nearly all his life. Police say their strongest hypothesis about the killings is that they are due to mental illness.

    1. She's attending a memorial service for five people who died after getting killed in a bow and arrow attack. What kind of facial expression do you expect?

    2. I agree, Anon 19:55. In situations like this, I rarely find it appropriate to comment on anything related to appearance, be it fashion or countenance. It would have to be something extraordinary. ~d

    3. She has a lung illness. She must tire more easily than she did before. Its not a face of a woman who is respecting the deaths, which I'm sure she is, its the face of a woman who is tired, I agree with you cariad. anna

    4. OMG. First is it so hard to read faces people? On the first photo we see that MM is about to cry since she is an emotional person. There are other photos of her crying inside the church. On the other photos she is serious like the rest of us are in a situation like this. Tired? Really? anna and cariad should learn that this is conversation that shouldn't be necessary to have. Stop thinking you know how other people feel or think. It's embarrassing to read this conversation...

I do have a name, I only want to use the first letter here, as many others do.
My choices and yes, my opinion.

    9. Ellie if you have the need to call anyone a blog bully based on your own hurt feelings? go ahead, but we can try to behave like adults, We don't have to think we know anything based stricktly on a photo. We can try to treat the royals with some dignity. The same dignity we want to be treated ourselves. We don't have to step all over persons like Meghan with hate. Bodyshame people like Stephanie. Talk about that Mette-Marit looks tired. She is in a memorial service. Who feels like having a big smile on their face in these circumstances. Use your brain here. We have no knowledge about how they feel, but we can use or empathy and think how would I like to read all this crap about myself. Normal decency not to be despised. Anna.

  3. There is a lot of misunderstanding on this blog lately. Sometimes I cannot react because I'm afraid to be misunderstood or to hurt the feelings of others. Perhaps it is because some of the topics have nothing to do anymore with fashion (like this one f.ex.) Unfortunately there are people who like to react each time. I think it is best not react on every post. Marcy

This is what I think too.
You can see above what happens.
I was only noticing that there should be no room for remarks related to appearance under these sad circumstances.
That' s why I sometimes stop for days.

  4. Judging from the photos here, it appears someone from behind handed her a note. The next photo shows her crying while reading it as Prince Haakon also looks at what she is reading. She seemed sad but holding things together until she read the note so I can't help wondering who it was from and what it said.

I have never seen such a thing happen before at a Memorial Service or formal occasasion. Usually Royal attendees are kept slightly isolated at such events to keep people from behaving inappropriately by forgetting what the event is for and gushing all over said royal rather than respecting the moment.
