    Nice colours, nice photos.
The trousers can broaden more than they flatter- but ok, modern now.

Good job by their PR-team to get into Times!

It's wonderful to see Harry in another color or another suit besides navy or gray.
With or without the photoshop, the second picture is a keeper. Meghan is barely 3 month out of a full term pregnancy hence the wide hips. Obviously she is not resorting to unhealthy methods to snap back into shape. Most important was the causes they have championed recently. There are pictures of earthquake survivors in Haiti receiving hot meals flown in from the World Kitchen in nearby Dominica. All of the nattering about photoshop will not feed a single person, but their donation did.

Harry looks fantastic in this green suit! Wow! Even without a tie, a simple white shirt with this dark green is so much dressier than the ever present blue suits the royals seem to love. Props to the stylists! I love the second look on Harry as well. They are well coordinated in fall colors. The contrast of Meghan's white outfit with Harry's darker outfit is quite striking. ~d

Great photos. I was a bit iffy about the broad look around Meghan's hips but I like the colour on both of them. It's complementary to Harry's ginger hair. Nicely done.

I like Harry's green suit. Color looks great on him and is unexpected choice. I like both of Meghan's monochromatic looks but the pants aren't the most flattering. I love that her make-up is lighter and we can see her freckles. I am not a fan of the second picture it looks too posed.

Not a fan of these kind of trousers at all . Photo number 2 what happened to her right leg ? I mean the stand is not nice . The photographer made a mistake with this paus . I like the first photo. Love the colors.

  11. These have got to be the worst photos of them ever. And this is no commentary on them personally. So heavily photoshopped. Megan looks plastic. Harry looks like a wax doll, nothing like himself. Plus, in that one pic he is literally cowering behind her looking like he is scared for his life. There is no life in their eyes at all.

But I fully agree about their faces, eyes and expressions.

    2. Well said, Chel. Apart from Harry's incredible head of hair, I couldn't figure out why the photos looked so strange but you've said it. I think the first one is reasonable but the others are weird. It's telling that the cover photo has the less important person in terms of protocol in front and the Prince behind. I like his green suit. In the second pic, Meghan reminds me of the pose of Charlie's Angels--the revised version not the original.

@Chel and Rosalyn: These are professional magazine cover and editorial photos. When for that purpose, they are ALWAYS doctored and edited and will always look exactly like they have been edited because that's what sells magazines, products and dreams - pretty colours, pretty images, 100% fantasy. You'll never see a natural looking photo in these type of large publications and if you do it was probably doctored to look that way too. Accordingly these kind of photos should be critiqued knowing those assumptions. No point saying that the photo subjects don't look real... because they aren't and are not meant to either. That's how advertising works.

I agree too ! I understand that photos for magazines need tweaking! But these are altered appearances! So in truth, not a true representation of how they really look ! Harry hair for one ! Plus the altered size of his head !
For a couple so anti mis-truths! Sadly the whole photo shoot, consists of mis-truths in these photos !
As well why does it look like Harry’s been an after thought, and almost squeezed into the photo ! Ana

    6. Hi Anon 9:13, you're right of course about always editing and doctoring professional cover photos. But to me, it looks more like changing, than editing. Harry's hair is way fuller and thicker, for example.
We've seen more covers and modelling photos from royals before (Kate, Beatrice of Monaco, Charlotte Casiraghi for example) but in my eyes, they never looked so unreal and 'wax' as Harry and Meghan here. And no, this is not personal against them, it's against the people who, sadly, overdid their job and went too far with the changing.

    7. Anonymous17/9/21 14:24

Hi Rosalyn, yes I agree totally about what you say about Harry hair and the waxiness of the image. Yes, some graphic artist has gone too far beyond taste. It's one thing to adjust the tone and texture of an image through light and colour and quite another to add features by airbrushing or other means. Reeks of false pretenses. However most are less familiar with H&M than we are on this blog and would never know. All they see is an attractive couple who have been in the news a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if the subjects themselves have questions with the end result since they have minimal control over the images commissioned by a third party.

  12. This looks to me like promo posters for a B class drama show. I don't know why they haven't controlled their image more imaginatively, heck royals and celebrities have been around forever. Nothing attractive about all the green, not very flattering to them, and the Time cover I actually did think was a spoof, apologies.

I hope their work is wonderful.

  13. When I say control their image I mean not to play clown while your wife is in basically lounge wear in your mansion trying to start a charity which is also the same name as your human child. It's a bit much. The photos show an unapproachable couple in what looks a bit stiff attire. Waiting a few years until things settle before giving expose interviews.... I suppose they are an influencial couple. I'm uncomfortable with their image.

I did think the Time cover was a spoof.

@ Rosella: Missing class the day privacy was discussed leaves one at a disadvantage. As explained many times in this forum they preferred not to have details of their personal life and that of their children leaked/published in sleazy tabloids in exchange for living on taxpayer funds. For example there are no pictures of the new baby and very few of Archie. We see both of them in connection with their WORK. THAT is what the average family gives to, and expects from, the public.

Sorry, I think it looks odd. Especially in the second photo, their faces aren't 'real' and Meghan is posing in an odd way with her legs. It looks like they did a lot of work on their faces with photo shopping. The third picture is better, Meghan looks stunning, but still unreal. I can't put my fingers on it; maybe it's just the photo shopping. I don't know.
I don't like these shades of green, to be fair. But it's nice with Harry's ginger hair and looks good against Meghan's skin.
Judging from these pictures, they must have a stunning garden.
Nice to see something from them though, and I'd love a photo from baby Lily!!

I love the outfits that Harry and Meghan are wearing. Complimentary colors to their skin tones, and keeping with today's styles. Love solid colors. Some years the styles are less flattering than others (like those awful crop pants ). But the Duke and Duchess exude a relaxed and comfortable expression. Belated birthday wishes to Prince Harry. And I love that Meghan embraces her freckles -- they were quite visible on her wedding day. As for photoshopping -- give it a rest folks. I can't think of a single royal throughout Europe , in their age brackett and older, that hasn't been photoshopped at some time or another!

She's a real actress, Meghan, especially in the second and third picture. She makes a statement like she is the real deal - the power behind the scenes-.
The last photo she dominates the whole cover; dressed in white (which catches the ( light in the) eye), hair all over the place ( Harry in the corner yearning for support).
Also strange never saw an image of the last-born??
I think they see themselves as the american branche of a royal tree.
But what is royal? Benevolent, not me me me all the time.
In my opinion Harry is the winner with his smart green suit -Anna-
