Dżennifer, why so negative/agressive?! 'https://translate.google.com/' is a great invention .... I do speak some French, but when it comes to fashion do not master it enough. When I'm interested in remarks in the French (or any other language I don't know), I just copy the remark and have it translated. btw, English isn't my mother tongue either.

      Dzennifer,
      I totally agree with you.
My advice: donot read Tulipes comments so she cannot make you angry by not taking the trouble to put them in English.

    4. I really enjoy the comments in many languages that appear here. And like the writer above, it is so easy to insert the comment into Google translate. English is not my native language either and I like knowing that if my English were not good enough to express. my thought in my comments in my native Spanish would be welcome.

Tulipe33 expresses herself/himself wonderfully with good observations, and never rudely. I frequently agree with Tulipe's comments, as they are so perceptive and objective. A polite but frank commenter. An example everyone who comments on this blog should follow.

And since we are commenting on Swedish royals, does that mean that all comments should be in Swedish? S.M.

Neither French or English are my first language, but I cherish being able to meet people on the internet to practise with especially if it's in the context of a forum where the interest is mutual and enjoyable. –– S.

I agree with Vanessa! I like other languages & have learned several new words/expressions here. Good grief, Dżennifer, just copy the offending post & run it through an online translator - not that difficult. I assume Helen's native language is not English, yet she runs this particular blog in English. Thanks for this blog! ~Laurel~

There is no reason to assume that comments should only be in English. This site is open to everyone in the world and the language they speak , as well as their different fashion views. I welcome seeing the different languages. It shows that we can still have common interests despite our differences.

So if you don't have the time or the desire, Dzennifer, don't bother. You have the desire to be unnecessarily rude and bigoted though. And don't make ridiculous sweeping generalisations about French women. Feel free to post in Chinese - that way I won't have to understand your rude prejudiced comments.

Josh - Tulipe33 has been posting well-considered, polite and thoughtful comments on this site in French for much longer than you have been participating. Why should she have to go to the "trouble" of posting in English? This is the first time anyone has complained. Stop trying to exclude people - just because you are able to post in English doesn't mean everyone is.

And it may be rude to stand in front of someone speaking French when they don't understand Leyyla but on an international website where there is no requirement to post in English no, it totally is not in the least bit rude. The fact that you don't understand is your problem not the original poster's.

  3. Nice to see everyone so relaxed and casual.
    Daniel looks great.
I also like the dresses of Victoria and Sofia. Big patterns in an all-over print are not my favourite but at least they feature short sleeves or a more open neckline respectively, so the designs have some room to "breathe".
I don´t like Victoria´s styling, however, the shoes are too clunky, and the denim jacket doesn´t work at all with that kind of dress, I think.
Estelle is the perfect mix of both of her parents, looking like a copy of her dad in the first picture and the spitting image of her mom in the other pictures. I like the little fan and the purse she brought. Cute girl.

Sofia looks great. I love the color of her dress. I like Victoria's dress but the styling isn't great. The dress needs a belt to break up the pattern and define the waist. I love the picture of Daniel taking a pic of Sofia and Carl Philip.

  5. Queen Silvia looks wonderful in her white pants, blouse, and peach colored jacket. Victoria and Sofia are a bit overdressed for the occasion if compared to the others present. Daniel, Carl Philip and, of course, the King, are very handsome in their casual attire. Estelle is adorable. That Daniel is seen taking pictures is a very "unroyal" thing to do, and I love that the entire family appears to be just like the rest of us.

Yes, it's the wonderful thing about human beings - we develop, grow, change our minds about some things, have regrets or pride in our past... Sometimes we meet people or our personal circumstances change, the ambitions we had in our teens or our twenties are no longer what drives us.

One of the less wonderful things is cynicism...

Good grief, Margot. Yes, a lot of us were stunned by Carl Philip's choice of wife, but they seem happy & have settled into their life together. I think both Victoria & Sofia look nice in their dresses, with Victoria's looking more loose & comfortable. I do not like her shoes, although that brown flap probably is needed due to the odd length of the dress. Love the photo of Sofia smiling at little Julian. ~Laurel~

  8. Wonderful pictures of a happy family outing. In pic 3 Estelle looks like the spitting image of her Dad. She has the best of both parents, but not Victorias big chin. Cute bun, but I wish Victoria would do something with her hair!
What is going on with the waist of her dress? It does not look right somehow, so much fabric flapping around. Pattern and colour are nice, minus the frill on the hem.
Sofias Dress is a huge miss for me, seems like old curtains made into a dress, reminds me of the movie "the sound of music" where nanny Maria made play clothes for the kid's of the old curtains in her room.
Queen Silvia looks good as always.

I cannot get over the levels of judgement going on with some of these comments. Seriously, we don't live in a vacuum - people change. I wonder how some of the people who post here would like to be judged on only the decisions they made several years ago. Must be lovely to live without any regrets and be able to sit looking down on the lesser mortals.

Why should they only have had a civil ceremony? They were perfectly entitled to have a religious ceremony. They were in a committed relationship of several years, they have married and have a lovely family. Neither of them were inexperienced youths when they married - they were two adults who made a serious decision to share their lives. She has been fairly low-key and committed to various worthy causes since her marriage. It seems to me that as she has grown up she has changed her priorities - as many people do.

She was never any threat to the monarchy - Victoria is the heir anyway.

Monarchies only exist nowadays with the agreement of the majority of the population. A few people marrying in who do things "normal" folks do like have tattoos, have jobs, pay bills etc is no bad thing in my opinion.

Slightly off topic here but, one of the things I like is that they are sitting in the back just like "regular people." LOL Roped off yes, but at the back. Usually royalty is always placed up front or high above the rest of the audience (i.e. in a royal box, etc.) But here, they are just sort of part of the crowd - craning their necks for a better look - just like everyone else. I find it endearing. :)
