  4. Looks like a sack, I think, and only for cocktails.

  5. Not my favourite Letizia dress. The skirt part of it is fine but the top with the flappy bit and the asymmetric collar--can't see the point. Shoes adn bag are great as usual.

    1. I agree. The top of the dress is strange but as always Letizia looks elegant and poised.

  6. Don't care for the top. her natural slenderness shows boney shoulders and cut does her no favors.

BRAVO.

  8. It is a wonderful dress with a wonderful story behind: The dress that Doña Letizia has worn at the FAD ceremony, is a design belonging to the first collection in Spain of clothing made by 12 survivors of the trafficking of women who regain their freedom and his dignity through fashion. Behind her we find the Apramp association, the Association for the Prevention, Reintegration and Care of Prostituted Women

I'd have liked this dress more if it didn't look like the one sleeve had been ripped into pieces (further emphasized in one photo by the deep side slit).

  10. A wonderful dress, for a beautiful and very elegant queen. And for a very good solidarity cause. She does know how to dress according to her body and her occasion. Honestly, she could put on a coat and she would look good. She is divine

I am wondering if Letizia has been showcasing lesser known Spanish designers as a way to jumpstart the economy now that the COVID is becoming controlled. This is certainly a different take on pinstripes. For all the times we have seen comments about Letizia being able to wear a sack and make it look good, here is a real example. I can't say that I love this, and I don't think it does her any favors. She can get away with it, however. If she had not had her slim figure, this would have been a disaster. The fabric at the waist has been carefully pleated under the belt, and the belt being very thin is the best choice. I think I would have liked this better if both shoulders would have been the same, like the right shoulder. The fabric strips hanging down are distracting. This designer seems to like these particular touches, but I find them unnecessary on a day dress. The drama of the waist is enough of a statement. I like the side slit and the fact that she will wear a dress with a slit that high. I don't think it takes anything away from who she is or the job she does. To her credit, she has kept her accessories simple. ~d

  12. The pin stripe fabric and sober gray say business, the bare shoulder and high slit say cocktail. This dress doesn´t know what it wants to be. It looks most at home in the last picture which might be a reception following the meeting she attended? That would also explain the evening clutch.

The cut of the dress seems a bit random, I think it lacks structure, but thanks to the belt that literally pulls it all together and Letizia´s posture and elegant poise, it all ends up looking polished.

    2. Careful, Angie, people here might fire up if you talk about causes and not strictly fashion...

But seriously, thanks for the information, I appreciate it. It´s a great cause, and I hope it will be successful.
I still stand by what I wrote above though, about the dress itself.

@d. Like you, the first thought was we have always said that she would look good in a potato sack, well here's our chance. She indeed does make the silhouette look good. The tie at the shoulder looks like it would be better utilized as a belt. She however, does make it look elegant.
@ Angie. what a wonderful story about the designer. It is becoming increasingly annoying that the 'fashion' writers do not include an in depth piece on some of these designers or even the locations in each region where people can go to get treatment for their addiction. July

Looks like the sleeves have been slit. The skirt bit nicely cut &, nice fit. Overall look hmm.. not sure. Perhaps not one of her best. Mary i

This is a daring and superb style, I disagree with most about the structure of this dress, although I would say that she may be one of the few women that can wear something so different and make it sophisticated and slick.
Bravo to the Queen for supporting not only the local designers but the cause behind it.

El único pero que le pongo al vestido es que es negro. Si hubiera sido de color la imagen sería mucho más positiva.

Interesting dress, not something everyone can wear and look chic. She can carry this edgy style so well. Love her thick and glossy hair.
Hard to believe that she will be 50 next year. She looks years younger. I know with some help probably but still. Lovely woman.
