  1. I am sure that Queen Margrethe enjoyed the Rodin exhibition. She looked very pretty. I love her blue jacket and hat, and her suit coordinated well with the blue. It is so good to see her out and about.

    1. Agreed @Debra.
Although the shoulder handbag doesn't help the fall/fit of the blazer.
But isn't it time now for a bit of spring colour, flowers and gayness in her outfits?

Margrethe's shoes remind me of the shoes my grandma used to wear. My grandma's had a higher heel, but were very similar. She only wore them at home, and were her everyday shoes. I usually focus on the royals, but this time I am drawn to two other outfits. The two little girls presenting Margrethe with flowers are adorable and so well coordinated, down to their shoes. I also like what the docent is wearing. She is wearing a nice combination of professional and casual pieces, and they work well together. Pairing a somewhat formal pussy bow blouse with an open, semi-casual blazer brings the blouse down to a fun level. Wearing trouser jeans makes this a cohesive look. The pointy-toe shoes are perfect, giving her legs a subtle continuation instead of stopping abruptly. Her hair is perfect with her look. ~d

    A stylish welldressed elderly Lady.
Love the low heels she is always wearing ( being 1.80m ), and the model of her hat is wonderfull, as well as the matching colour.

  5. Élégante petite veste structurée qui complète fort bien le haut et la jupe - Adorables les deux petites filles qui lui offrent des fleurs ; elles apportent une petite touche de couleur printanière !

  6. The disrespectful comments from Anonymous d regarding Queen Margrethe’s shoes are unrealistic. It is obvious that the Danish queen has physical problems, probably her back, and she often sits during receptions. Interesting photos proving this very point have appeared on this blog. The queen has every right to opt for comfortable, flat shoes rather than to risk an accident.

@Virginia My comment is anything but disrespectful. We affectionately called my grandma's shoes her "granny shoes". She died in 2004 at the age of 95, and I still have her last pair of granny shoes. They are a treasured keepsake and invoke warm, happy memories. The only reason she wore them as house shoes is because she always did her housework in them. She had worn them since my mother's childhood and they became more and more difficult to find in the latter years of her life. The reason I have them is because a cousin wanted them to wear (obviously she loved them as well), which my sisters and I couldn't allow. She could buy new ones. Of course, everything comes back in style. There is nothing wrong with Margrethe's shoes. She just reminded me of my grandma. ~d
