  3. Beautifully fitted elegant black coat. I like the black check coat too. know that white can be used as a colour of mourning (and therefore of remembrance as well, I presume) but the lady in the white outfit certainly stands out from the rest of the group.

    1. Especially with that giant daisy on her necklace... looks more like an outfit for a garden party!

As usual, Letizia has nailed it. The coat fits her impeccably. Her boots are among my favorites. I want to point out that they fit as well. It is not easy for women with thin legs to find boots to hug the calf the way they should. Whether they have been custom fit or not, they look fantastic. She is a master of simplistic style. ~d

The frock coat is a classic. The matching boots, and ponytail, all simple but elegant. Her girls also have a version of this coat. July

Whereas it takes shoppers, hair dressers, stylists, and other helpers to make Kate look good, the Queen of Spain excels on a far, far smaller budget, under a perpetual magnifying glass, and a rain of critical analysis of every outfit. Letizia is in a league of her own, and should never be compared with the DoC , that is why she is recognized as the most elegant royal woman in Europe. The Spanish royals interact with a larger portion of society than the British. She has to tailor her outfits to many different events, brings so much more to the table, and should never be compared stylistically to the DoC.
Just an opinion, not a rant at you. Ana#1.
      PS. Senor Pedro :)

I agree Ana#1. Kate does need to adhere to a standard set by the BRF, which was not her style before marrying into the family, and can look matronly for her age at times. Letizia has a natural instinct, or it looks like she does. She always looks so effortless and chic with simple pieces. She also has a style that is consistent, where Kate's varies, as though she is still trying to find that sweet spot. Both are beautiful women. I think the difference is that Letizia figured out her style and is able to make her own decisions, while Kate doesn't have the same freedoms due to traditions, and being younger, she is still trying to decide on an acceptable style direction. ~d

Angie, you are correct. Give to Caesar etc. however, it would be more accurate to say that Kate's style is beginning to mirror that of your Queen. The ruffles, Peter Pan collars, matchy-matchy coat dresses, thick stockings and heavy hair are slowly being replaced by a more streamlined look. RL consistently displays a fresh, creative style.
