King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, accompanied by Queen Jetsun Pema and the Crown Prince, visited the Desuung Clubhouse where Desuung was commemorating His Majesty’s Birth Anniversary, to meet Desuup Phub Gyem and Desuup Dechen Tshomo.Desuup Phub Gyem is recovering after having sustained life-threatening injuries last September, when a pick-up truck hit her and Desuup Dechen Tshomo while they were on duty. Both Desuups were sent to Delhi for treatment on Royal Command.Desuup Dechen returned home after her treatment in October last year, and Desuup Phub Gyem returned home in January 2021, after a series of successful surgeries. She is receiving physiotherapy treatment to regain full control of her motor abilities.
Wonderful engagement. One if my fave royal families, indeed. May the healing and recovery continue.

ردحذفA few things struck me as I was looking at the photos. The first thing was how warm the King is. Instead of standing there, holding his hands behind his back or stuffing them in a pocket, he is crouched down and touching people. He does not give the feeling of being above them, but with them. Jetsun Pema has a beautiful figure, and it shows in her traditional clothes. I also see that the Crown Prince is playing a role, holding the box of a possible commendation, and in the next picture holding his mother's hand. He straddles two worlds right now. ~d
ردحذفSometimes we see photos which need no explanation. The compassion shown here is heartwarming and on a fashion level the queen's outfit is just lovely. Beautiful colour.

ردحذفThey look very nice and behave very dignified and modestly. Although I appreciate that the queen and king wear national costumes, I would very much like to see them in modern clothes and the queen in evening dresses on some appropriate occasion. I'm sure they would look amazing.
