Due to the pandemic, this year's Nobel Prize ceremony took place in a different way. On December 10, 2020, a small Nobel Prize ceremony was held by the Nobel Foundation in the Golden Hall in Stockholm City Hall. King Carl Gustaf, who usually presents the prizes in Stockholm's Concert Hall, this year sent a digital greeting to the prize winners from the Bernadotte Gallery in the Royal Palace. The King took part digitally with a pre-recorded speech in the small ceremony.

Behind King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia are portraits of Oskar II and Gustaf V, the first two kings to present the Nobel Prizes. This year's Nobel Prizes were awarded earlier this week, with the support of the Foreign Service, in the prize winners' home countries.

  1. Beautiful colour looks great on the queen

  2. Une couleur qui sied à ravir à la reine ; ravissant son ras du cou composé d'un mélange de grosses perles ; je crois voir des hématites ?! j'en possède un mais avec des perles plus petites ; je l'adore !

  3. I would love to see her with grey hair. Probably makes her look better and even younger. This hair colour does not suit her skin tone and structure anymore.

    1. Ah ah I was just thinking she has such beautiful hair, showing her mixed origin. To me quite hard to do better than this! We will never agree on this.

    2. Agree with Mary that her hair is lovely and disagree that it does not suit her skin tone. Although it's so dark I think it's very natural looking. Love the purple dress and so envious of her great figure

    3. Like Annie M, for Queen Silvia's hair colour, I agree and disagree.
Her "coiffure" is always to perfection.
It's a bit hard for her to change now as her hairdo is part of her trademark.
Otherwise, they are both looking very elegant and giving a perfect image of a King and Queen.

    4. In fact, her hair is a tad lighter than it was originally, as her natural hair colour was black. I personally like her hair this way. She looks regal and great!

    5. I agree with Lily T. and would love to see Silvia with gray hair either natural or enhanced (if needed). I admire other royal ladies who kept their gray. ~Laurel~

  4. The Queen looks so beautiful. Purple suits her well. The King is looking quite dapper as well.

  5. They look great and I love Silvia's dress and jewelry but, and I've said this before, I really wish she would get/use a better bra. The "girls" always look like they need better support with her. I'm not saying she has to get a full-on push-up "wonder-bra" but she needs something that lifts and defines better.

  6. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia truly look timeless... The outfits are very complementing and the background is breathtaking...

  7. The dress is a lovely colour and style and has a great figure.

However, given the number of people who get in a tizz about Camilla/Maxima/Sophie Wessex's undergarments I'm surprised there aren't more comments about the same situation here. I'm all for being comfortable but I think this dress in particular needs a better bra underneath.

  8. The queen looks fantastic, that colour is great!

absolutly right, but so sad for the noble prize winners, that they don't get their award ceremony and dinner :-( I hope they will do it next year for them.
