Queen Maxima paid a working visit to the Utrecht University

Queen Maxima wore a new twill coat with pockets and belt from Natan, and blue trousers from Massimo Dutti, and suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi
On December 8, 2020, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands paid a working visit to the Utrecht University in Utrecht. Her work visit focused on the impact of the pandemic on education and on the welfare of students and teachers. In order to get an impression of how education continues, Queen Maxima visited the biology lab of teacher Lena Will in Koningsberger Building. Afterwards, Queen Máxima visited the Utrecht Biologists Association (UBV). The visit ended with two roundtable discussions. Some experts from other universities joined the conversation via video calls.

Well, its casual and I don’t suppose the audience were too bothered. I like it except the trousers would have looked better if they had been grey or even black or thinking about just a strong bold colour.

I think Maxima looks great in this outfit. The coat looks good on her and the colour combination of top and bottom is nice. Funny how the trousers are a completely different colour in the photo where she is sitting on the red couch, and then 2 different shades of blue in the two photos following that one. Can't know what to believe.

I wasn’t sure about that either. The trousers are for once the right width as well.

  3. Like the trousers and shoes. Not sure about the jacket. Don’t think it’s the most flattering thing I have seen her wear.

I like this coat for Maxima. It only belts in the front, and the back looks like a trapeze/swing coat with an inverted pleat. The reason I like it is because it gives Maxima the look of a waist. It is like Mathilde's windowpane cape, with the belt going through at the waist to the inside of the coat. Both of these women have lost their waistline with age, so this style gives the illusion of one. I do think it could have a more tailored fit to look its best. It is a lot of fabric without a lot of structure. Her slacks have a nice cut that suits her body well.

No to the coat, the pants were not the right color, the hair, as usual a mess, scraggly but not quite as bad as usual.

A jacket this length is seldom flattering, only on a pencil skirt.
The colour and the matching pulli are good, but the trousers are not.

Can't like this jacket, is busy, wrinkly, and weird looking . It doesn't help that Máxima has the sleeves rolled up, and the belt is tucked in a horrible way. The hair flying all over it doesn't help with the look either. Pants are just an OK neutral.
    A fail for me.
