On December 3, 2020, Queen Mathilde of Belgium paid a working visit to the De Zande Community Institution in Beernem. The Queen met with supervisors and managers of the institution, and with girls who stay there. The pandemic and the corona measures have had a major impact on the functioning of the institution and thus also on the lives of these young people. Because of the corona measures, their contacts with people from outside were very limited.

De Zande can accommodate 53 girls divided into 6 living groups. These girls were placed according to the decision of the juvenile judge. During their stay, these young people attend on-campus education and receive individual and psychological support. The community institutions provide support to young people experiencing problematic situations at home or who have committed a crime.

My grandfather wore pajamas with this pattern. This coat and pants are quite far from elegance - like all of Natan lately.

    1. It is not only lately. I requested Natan be sent to a desert island with no means of transport, away from the island, a long time ago on this blog.
I still think it is a good idea.

This comment section made my day! I'm really thankful for that, it has been a tough day.

      I could not agree more.
Maxima and Matilde are two stunning and engaged ladies and Queens.
Their work is outstanding, but I think they should put more efforts into their appearances as they both are public figures.
They might consider some better fashion options and I just wonder why they still prefer Natan.

Well, let us say it is something different.
Not too bad, and she, as always, composed and elegant.

Slim black pants would look way better with this cape/coat.

  6. Tiens Natan est à nouveau de sortie ! Je suis d'accord pour le manteau mais le pantalon dans une couleur noire unie apporterait encore plus d'élégance !

  7. Totally agree with Anon 7:35 re plain black as a contrast for the overpowering pattern of the coat. In fact, any plain trousers of any shape (except cropped, of course!) would be better. Rather like the idea of the coat/cape but much prefer it in the tan colour worn by the model.

Don't like it. Would go so far as to say that is one of the most hideous and unflattering ensembles I have ever seen.

This is...not...that bad. It is very 70s inspired. To be honest, it is one of the only ways Mathilde can successfully wear pants. We are not seeing her mid-section, which is her trouble area. Matching windowpane plaid cape and pants are very retro. All that is missing is a matching hat. :-) She also looks like she has a waist. The volume of the cape makes the belted part look tiny. She has chosen the perfect black turtleneck to wear underneath, and I love her bag and boots. The only thing I would change for Mathilde would be to tie the belt more attractively, like is is on the sleeveless version.

  11. I love the cape style coat in the windowpane style, gorgeous. I feel it should be a standout piece with just black sweater and trousers underneath. The coordinating pants are just a little too much for me. Her hair does look great.

Part of this outfit would have been chic, the pants drug the entire look to way too much. She's not on a fashion runway, please don't do this again.

  13. It would look ridiculous on the average woman going to work, but a queen like Mathilde can pull this off. I think it looks better in the dark brown.

The cape and trousers pattern looks like that of an ordinary tablecloth.
Can't see any end or beginning or a shape whatever in all this abundance of fabric.
Like only her sweater, her impeccable
    hairstyling and the shoes.

  15. lelijke outfit, en die grote mouwen, vind het lelijk en onhandig, ik zou het niet willen dragen
    ze heeft de laatste weken nog een paar van die capes gedragen;
