  2. Wow! I don't think I've ever seen a group of women of this number who look so unfashionable, including the Grand Duchess. The woman behind the lectern might be an exception, but her outfit is blurred. The earrings worn by the GD are very pretty.

They looks like a police line-up of fashion violations.

    2. Debra, this comment made me laugh, but it is so true! Not the best look for any of them.

    3. Thanks for the chuckle. I too think they are the 'fashion don'ts' instead of dressing nicely, they just look odd.

Je n'aime ni son top ni ses chaussures.

  4. I don't know much about the fashion business but I hope the lady with that pink skirt-thing won't influence too many others...

    1. To me the lady with pink shirt is among the not so bad ones, but I don't think she will be "influential" although she is supposed to have some skills in that area.

  5. Clunky shoes but a wonderful smile!

  6. Oh no! she is not a very tall lady to put it mildly and these clothes make her look even smaller and pompous

  7. Not a good look for a so short lady: wear at least black stockings to make the legs look longer.

  8. Ok, I was expecting to see “The fabric of her top looks cheap!” juxtaposed with “Her top is gorgeous!” but have seen neither. The contributors here are not predictable, and that’s something to be proud of :-).

Imo Grand Duchess Maria Teresa usually does pretty well given that her body type is challenging to dress (I’m not blessed with long legs and a slim build either, so I relate). Hitting just the right note as to size and tailoring is really tricky; if a garment is on the roomy side it looks tent-like, but if it’s a bit on the small side, it accentuates “figure flaws” (and I know, we are not supposed to acknowledge that there are such things as figure flaws).

Given all that, I think this is a great outfit on Maria Teresa — imo the top is flattering to M T, neither too big nor too snug, and its glowing bronze color looks magnificent paired with black. The overall look is glamorous enough to fully honor the occasion, but low-key enough to let the other ladies enjoy the spotlight.

    1. I totally agree with you. Nowadays it sees that a lady has to do more than her best to look taller and thinner than she is.

  9. I am not sure what MT has done with the front of her blouse, but it looks like she gave it a half tuck. Whatever the case, it looks odd. We can see more of her pants which are too baggy. She has volume on the top, so the pants need to be more fitted. I really, really dislike her shoes, and in particular with this outfit which is supposed to be dressier. Her earrings are lovely, and I love the masks the ladies are wearing. Speaking of these ladies, I have to agree with previous comments. These are a very badly dressed group of women. I am a firm believer in having a few things in your closet at all times. One - You should always have a dress (or outfit) to wear to a funeral. Be prepared. Two - You should always have at least one dressy or cocktail type outfit. You don't want to have to shop if an invitation comes and you can't ever find what you are looking for when you need it. Keep it classic and you can't go wrong. These women illustrate my point nicely.

  10. MarĂa Teresa has a knack for choosing outfits that are completely unflattering for her body type, age, and coloring. This one is a hot mess, the blouse is weird and shapeless, the color is wrong for her skin tone, and the shine of the fabric doesn’t do her any favors, I can’t even get pass the shoes so badly combined with the length and style of the pants.
Agree that all the women look rather unfashionable, but I give the lady with the pink mini skirt the highest mark, fantastic legs and a way to show them without showing too much, love the skirt and it s some lovely color to the somber picture.
