This year, the National Day of Mourning focused on the German-British friendship, which has grown in the 75years since the end of World War II. The event was held in honour of the Allied commitment to the liberation from Nazi occupation and to the reconstruction, re-democratisation and subsequent reunification of Germany.

  1. Choix judicieux de Camilla qui a emmené dans ses bagages ce joli masque aux multiples coquelicots ; cela éclaire sa tenue noire !

  2. The Duchess looks as smart as she usually does at these events and I like the detailing on the coat. It must be great for Prince Charles to see a focus on German British friendship as he has so many German cousins on his father's side of the family.

  3. Do not like the odd neckline, then the square white lines going down the dress or coat. A black mask would have looked more appropriate for the occasion, not a summery one.

    2. It isn't a summery mask and nothing could be more appropriate than poppies which are a symbol of remembrance of the fallen in war.

    6. A grey and white mask is hardly restricted to summer wear.

    1. Why is it sad? nobody wears a mask by choice and if we can wear a pretty one, all the better

  5. The shape of the neckline certainly shows off the beautiful choker and earrings. I’m also admiring the seam detail at the back. I think this is a simple but elegant outfit on D. Camilla. (V.M.)

      What a fuss about masks!
They have to be changed for hygiene according to each country guidelines and irrispective of their patterns.
We do the same in Italy.

  7. People criticized her for wearing a poppy mask saying Germans don't like to wear things that memorialze war. It's possible she changed masks because of that.

    1. Poppies commemorate the people who died not war itself. Perhaps people should educate themselves before they criticise something.
