The Princess of Asturias Awards are awarded annually in Spain by the Princess of Asturias Foundation to persons or organizations from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs. 1. All very classy again, I note Leonor's shoes with high heels. She wears really a young lady dress, maybe the color is a bit drab, but lovely for her.

  2. The tiny heels OMG!
All the ladies look fantastic, I love the colours on both Leonor and Sofia.
I love this dress of the Queen, but always wondered, does the flowery side end up being irritating and ticklish? I guess not!
On another note, is the winner John Williams the music director John Williams? Can anybody tell?

  3. I love Queen Letizia’s dress, and she looks stunning in it — but it hits a very different note than the outfits we see on Queen Sofia and the girls, which has me wondering whether this was a daytime or evening event.

I love the two shades of green worn by Infanta Sofia (I hope I’m using her correct title?); they create a gorgeous tonal effect but this particular skirt and top look awkward together — something about the proportions. Leonor’s dress is an excellent choice, spot-on — but I’d like it even better in a lovely color 🙂.

    1. Jane, this is an evening event where cocktail dresses are the norm, in fact is possibly one of the most visible acts for the Royal Family, the Princess of Asturias award ( formerly Prince of Asturias) is named for the heir/ heiress to the throne. You can google previous years in order to see the wonderful outfits that the Queen has worn, Spaniards are always eager to see what she would wear, however this year because of the COVID situation the Queen is repeating the dress, just in line with the optics of austerity. Emeritus Queen Sofia stopped wearing cocktail dresses long time ago, with the exception of Royal dinners at the palace , which she hasn’t been attending for a while.

  5. Letizia looks great. I like the architectural detail on the dress. I like Sofia's skirt and shoes but top looks juvenile. Leonor is wearing her highest pair of heels yet but I don't like this dress for her. Between the color and design the dress is giving me mother of the bride vibes.

    1. (An anecdote)...In Spain it does not exist "the mother of the bride", (almost a nobody...) the protagonist is "the mother of the groom"...LOL...they acompany their sons by the aisle to the altar.

  6. Such a weird idea - a child giving out rewards to accomplished professional adults.

    2. The Princess of Asturias giving the Princess of Asturias awards...maybe the Prince of Luxemburg was more common here..lol...

She "gives" the award, she does nor decide the winer...

    4. The award is named for the heir to the throne, nothing weird about that, I am surprised that you visit these royal sites and still find this strange.

    5. I do not understand your point, Anon 12:33. Are these not the Princess of Asturias awards i.e. Leonor’s own named awards. Who would be more appropriate to present them? Also, at almost 15, in most cultures she would not be regarded as a child. I like her dress better than the one in the previous post but it would have been lovely in colour. Her shoes, again, are fantastic and just perfect for the occasion. I love the colour of Infanta Sofia’s skirt but agree with Jane Chantal that there’s something not quite right about the combination. The parents look as good as ever and it’s nice to see Queen Sofia again.

    6. an extract from her speech, I wish all adults had the same sense of responsibility : "But if there's one thing my sister Sofia and I have learned, it's a sense of responsibility. Our parents have always taught us that. And I think young people of my generation are also aware of this. A sense of responsibility which implies never forgetting the people around us, who love us and whom we love. And we also saw the importance of solidarity thanks to people who, like the winners, are an example of how to meet challenges ”.

  7. I love Q. Letitia’s dress - such a simple cut enhanced by the interesting shoulder detail. Q. Sofia’s outfit is very much her usual look. I don’t really like to comment on the clothing of children, but it’s nice to see them there as a family for this important occasion. (V.M.)

  8. One of my all time favorites of Letizia! I'm so happy to see this dress again! As for the girls, they look absolutely beautiful, and Leonor's kitten heels! Beautiful family!

  10. Leonor's top and the hem of her skirt are a little bit glitzy, I like it. I think it makes up for no color, we just cannot appreciate it because no movement and light effects on the dress are visible. And kitten heels ... :-) - I think Letizia is a very good consultant for her duaghters. (-Ann.)

  12. I think Letizia is wearing a wonderful dress like always, but for me a nude shoulder its not her most elegant style.

  13. Love this family.

Queen Letizia looks fabulous - loved this dress when she originally wore it.

Both girls look good - i do think Leonor would look good in brighter colours but i still like this outfit and her shoes. She gave a very assured speech.

I like the colours of Sofia's and the general style but think i would prefer a slightly narrower waistband on the skirt. Her hair is wonderful.

Queen Sofia also looks good in these colours - lovely to see her accompanying the family to this event.

    1. You shouldn’t be correcting people, specially because you don’t seem to to know the actual titles. There’s just one Princess ( Leonor) one Infanta ( Young Sofia) one queen ( Letizia) and one Queen Emeritus ( Grandma Sofia)

Bravo.

  16. Infanta Sofias Skirt is very nice :-) I like the shape, the length and the colour a lot.
Letitias dress would have been nice without this kind of flower on it. The colour also is great.

    1. This flower is what makes the dress. Del Pozo is a respected designer who studied architecture so his interpretation is seen through that lens. His collections are on Youtube. Ana1

    2. Agree that the flower makes the dress - without it the dress would just be another one shouldered dress.

  17. For me this is one of the best dresses Q Letizia have, as the other times she use it, she looks wonderful!
QE Sofia is her usual type of look, but I would prefer to see her with less jewelry.
K Felipe as always a very awesome men!
