In connection with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, members of the Royal Family are making visits to Sweden's 21 counties at the initiative of King Carl XVI Gustaf. Through these visits, The King wants to show the Royal Family's solidarity with the people who have been affected by the pandemic and to highlight and support local initiatives within different sectors of society. The first nine visits will be made during autumn 2020.

    3. What are you looking for? A replacement to tear apart for when Meghan and Harry are away on holiday?

Fashion wise: For Princess Sofia, and interesting ensemble which I like.
At last, Prince Carl Philip is getting his trendy male fashion mode sorted out.

    4. What on earth do you mean?? Nothing sad in them or their marriage to my eyes. I see a happy couple together focusing on their job.

    5. @6:36pm - Would you prefer if Sofia had sat in Carl Philip's lap during this engagement with her arm around his shoulder? Married couples - royal or just-like-us - don't always hold hands or otherwise show affection while out and about.

Not my choice of colors and I do not like this skirt; but the outfit is nicely put together. Carl Philip - you would look better in a bigger jacket, it's way too small in every regard.

    7. Goodness. There are pics of this visit all over the Internet. Not just these. Although these are fine too. You can't smile constantly and look into each others eyes when you have a job to do. They were laughing and talking with one another in plenty of those pics. They don't have to be right on top of each other all the time. They are both dressed appropriately and look professional and engaged with what is going on around them. They are a lovely and genuine couple.

  2. Another dark top, light coloured pleated skirt as Queen Letizia last week. I like this one better and the boots are ideal with it. I also, to my surprise, really like the striped coat. If the coat is not going to cover the skirt/dress then this is a perfect length and the fact that it is open gives it more of a jacket feel. Great look. Love the selfie taken when en route

  3. This was not one of her better outfits. The sweater looks big and baggy and is not a good mix with a spring style pleated skirt and boots. The coat has the look of an old blanket and is such an odd combination with the skirt.

  4. My goodness, what an old-fashioned, granny-like outfit.
I would sort this outfit out for the old clothes collection. Boots included. Big fail, as usual, Frieda

    1. I don't think the combination is 'granny-like'. I would say it is classic with a modern fresh twist.
Pleated light fabric skirts are one of the top fashion trends for fall 2020, Often combined with a heavier top and worn with boots. (Do a google research and you will find a lot of examples similar to this style).
Same for the coat, what she wears is abolutely on trend - something between an oversized blazer and a short coat. Checkered flanell in light autumn colours is also up to date. Everything Sofia wears here is top-notch and on trend. And it suits her beautifully. Neutrals are always good on Sofia.
She looks good, fresh, modern and trendy. Nothing 'granny-like' at all. Of course, people have different tastes and some people won't like the look. But it is not old-fashioned at all, it is top modern and on trend.

    2. Granny-like!!? Really? She looks very fresh and modern, especially her boots are to die for. I like this "boho style", nothing oldfashion there. The only thing I do not like is the black jumper. It looks a little bit too heavy, some lighter color woul'd have been better.

  8. Not quite a successful combination, this light skirt with the woolen jumper.

  9. I think this outfit would have worked better if she had tucked in the sweater and gotten rid of the clunky, square toed boots. I know the 90s are coming back but ask someone who lived through them I wish they weren't. A sleep pair of black boots would have suited this look better.

    1. It looks like Sofia is attempting the trend of tucking one hand-breadth of a baggy top into the waistline of the skirt. Yes or no, I can't really tell. Either/or, it's a ridiculous sloppy look that works mainly on totally casual jeans & tops, not in this case. ~Laurel~

  10. This is one of the better pleated skirts I've seen lately. In combination with her boots and coat, I think this is a very nice look. If she had worn a salmon colored jumper it would have been perfect.

  11. I really like this outfit, she looks comfortable and at ease in it. One thing is she can not please everybody with her choices in clothes as we all are different. It is a respectable outfit for the event and not something to be ashamed of.

  12. Why is Carl Phillip wearing three different shades of colour at the same go? The jacket looks formal and then bam, you have a mismatched bottom. I can't understand whether this is supposed to be formal or semi formal!

    1. WHY, because he tries to be "trendy" but he gets it wrong. Though, I do see a bit of an improvement.
He needs to send out an SOS to his cousin in Denmark, Prince Nikolai, who is the male fashion model for big names like Dior, Vogue etc.

  13. They are with out doubt a very handsome couple. I admire Sofia for how she has taken on her role and grown within it.
As for the fashion, I am never a fan of a longer skirt under a shorter coat. As someone else has already suggested, maybe a darker boot might have been a better option. Otherwise, lovely to see them both out and about and on a joint engagement. Ana

  17. I like this outfit very much. The pleated skirt moves well, and the tall boots elongate the look. It’s a relaxed, casually chic ensemble, perfect for the occasion. (V.M.)
