Crown Princess Victoria started the Swedish Cancer Society's 2020 Pink Ribbon (Rosa Bandet) campaign. Crown Princess is patron of the Pink Ribbon campaign. On the occasion of the start of the campaign, a new photo of Crown Princess Victoria was released. Crown Princess Victoria wore a new petal pink silk top from Rodebjer. The Pink Ribbon campaign is conducted every year in October since 2003 and it is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness.
The designer of this year's Pink Ribbon is First Aid Kit (band). First Aid Kit is a Swedish folk duo that consists of the sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg. Each year famous Swedes (one or more) design the pink ribbon, which is then sold in stores around the country. Among the previous designers are Carin Rodebjer, Elsa and Helene Billgren, Ben Gorham and Efva Attling.

Maybe we should give some leeway here as Princess Victoria may have been inspired by the pink colour which ties in with the cause and gave secondary importance to the style/fashion. Pity we can't see if she has teamed it up with a skirt, trousers or whatever.
DeleteWhat a good cause to support! A dear collegue within my team died of breast cancer. That is many years ago now, but we still think of her and talk about her. She was such a friendly, funny and intelligent woman. We will never forget her!
ReplyDeleteCoralie, I agree with your sentiments. I lost a coworker, who was also a friend, less than a year ago to Stage 4 Breast Cancer. I threw her a party to celebrate her going into remission. Less than two years later, she received the news that it was back, had metastasized, and she was telling me that she hoped to live long enough to see her daughter graduate from high school. She didn't.

It’s a good colour for her, but I’m not fond of the high, ruffled neckline unless you have a very long slender neck. It’s trendy now, so I guess that’s why we are seeing so many. (V.M.)

It's a nice shade of pink and it compliments that of the ribbon but between the ruffled neckline, mid-length sleeves, loose and somewhat body cut, and the elasticized waistband there isn't much to praise about the top.

ReplyDeleteJust wish Victoria could realise that she is 40 not 60, and that it is ok to be girly. If you always have to look like a strict headmaster it's ok to cut your hair short because obviously she doesn't like to have long hair or else it wouldn’t always be in a tight, tight bun. In my opinion it ruins most of her looks.
ReplyDeleteI love my long hair in a (slightly messy) bun or pony tail most days, then wear it down in various styles when I feel like it. Perhaps my hairstyle twin CP V feels the same.
DeleteI would agree if she ever wore it down , but she doesn't...we have seen her 1 time! One in the last 5 years leaving an airplane with her hair down, and it have been 10 years since she did in a private or official event. In her privatlife she wears a ponytale.
