  1. I like Charlene’s longer hair, although the very short stylish cuts also suited her. The children, as usual, are gorgeous.

Nothing compares to beautiful Princess Grace and her sisters.

Why compare her to three woman who are long since deceased?

But if you must - very difficult for anyone to compare to Princess Grace as she was stunning - personally, I don't think either of her sisters were particularly beautiful. They were pretty but I think Charlene wins.

But really what has that got to do with her summer holidays in 2020?

Why always compare, Princess Grace died almost 40 years ago, it is not at all the same time

Anon 1:49 What was your point in comparing Charlene with Grace? No wonder she is so uncomfortable when cameras are on her. When people like you force her to live in the shadow of a woman like Princess Grace, you have sent the message that she will never be beautiful enough, she will never be as well received, and she will never make the same impact. Princess Grace died almost 4 decades ago. Charlene should be allowed to be her own woman, celebrated for her own beauty and her own accomplishments.

Princess Charlene looks always very sad and for me a bit boyish. Princess Grace died in 1982 but she was elegant, classy and confident. We can compare Princess Charlene and Princess Grace because they're on the same position.

Anon 11:16 What is the point of the comparison? What is going to be gained by it? You think she looks sad? Not confident? Maybe people like you should not pick her apart. That might perk her up. Princess Grace was an Academy Award winning actress. Don't think for one minute she didn't have feelings of insecurity, or have bad days. The difference is that she had previously earned a living by and was awarded for her ability to transform herself into someone else as an actress. I have every belief that she was very happy, very in love, adored her children, and settled into her role as a princess, but could still call upon her acting skills in a difficult time or situation in order to hide her true feelings publicly. Charlene does not possess the same skills, but has different attributes all her own. She is a very beautiful woman, beautiful whether she is all made up for an event or natural as she is here. She is not boyish because she wears her hair shorter. With such beautiful face, really? I might remind you that Audrey Hepburn wore her hair even shorter, wore slim black pants and ballet flats at a time when women were always in dresses and heels. Her look, The Gamine Look, was so popular, feminine, and now classic, that women still aspire to achieve her look and style today. The most important reason Charlene is perfect just as she is? She is Albert's choice.

So back to my original question. What is the point of the comparison?

Audrey Hepburn was actress not Princess.

Princess Charlene is a Prince Albert's choice. Yes. It's true. I don't udermine this.
But she's a Princess since 2011 so she can feel more confident in her role. You know it's 9 years.
For example Princess Sofia of Sweden is not an actress but if you see her, you can think she loves life, she's very happy, cheerful and she loved to be Princess.

Anon 10:25 You still haven't answered my question. I can see that you won't be answering it because you don't have a good reason for comparing Charlene's beauty with that of Princess Grace--a random comment to make that had nothing to do with the subject.

One of your criticisms of Charlene is that she is looks "boyish" while Princess Grace was "elegant, classy and confident." I give you the arguably the best example of an elegant, classy woman with short hair and simple style of dress and all you can tell come back with is that Audrey Hepburn was not a princess. Either we are communicating on different levels, or you are ignoring the point. It is clear that you have a personal bias against Charlene.

What is the point of the comparison?

So my answer is: why not???
They are both Princess of Monaco. Charlene is Grace heiress. Everybody compares Charlene and Grace. Everybody compares Catherine and Diana. This is the life. If you are public person you can reckon with this. You must be strong and more more more confident.

Audrey Hepburn wasn't Princess of Monaco. She was an actress full of life, cheerful and confident. No she was no boyish. She has something special. But why you remind about Audrey? She wasn't Monaco royal like Princess Grace and Princess Charlene.

It's just appaling that some people mean it's ok to criticize how others looks. There is NOTHING wrong with Charlene. She's as alle the other royal ladies are perfect in their own skin! We shall be pretty perfect and gods gift to mankind to say something about others face, hair or body, but just go ahead and compare Charlene and Grace. We all know Grace was not a saint. The trut is out there. We all have read it, heard it. There we're lovers and to much alcohol. She had depressions, she was estranged to her husband, they had big marriage problems and so on. She did NOT have a perfect life or was a perfect being. It's strange how much people put some on a pedestal after they die...and Caroline and Stephanie are not white as snow either. So please grow up! Stop this beahavior. Let them be their own person.

    13. Princess Grace was a professional actrice and if/when it was necessary, fell back on her acting skills to help play the role well as the Princess of Monaco.
Princess Charlene has a background of a simple colonial life in Rhodesia and later in South Africa.
During Princess Charlene's school years in Rhodesia , acting skills and theatre were either not heard of or given very low priority. Or even considered a waste of time.
Their backgrounds are miles apart but their beauty is to be admired.

Nobody is perfect and nobody is saint.
Are you remember Princess Charlene wedding? Are you remember her tears? Are you remember rumours about her escape?
And now what? What is your problem with Princess Grace? I don't know her biography. I only said that is nothing compares Princess Charlene to Princess Grace. I mean beauty, style and confidence not whole life.
Charlene missing smile, confidence. Less tears more smile.

Ano 6:43 Guess you have never heard of tears of joy? The rumours of escape was lies. Charlene and Albert have talked about that bullshit in several interview and was so pissed over the lies that they sued the newspaper. I have not a problem with Grace. She was probably a flawed human being as we all are and a lovely lady. I was just trying to make a point by telling the truth that we all know. At least the one of us who still can remember the truth ;) No one is perfect, no one have a perfect life. Even royals go true hardships, health issues, marriage problems just like the rest of us. And just because Charlene doesn't like to grin on pictures it does not mean that she is not happy or confidence. And do you really mean it's right to compare a ordinary girl to an actress who know how to fake a smile and apperance professional after 7 years in Hollywood? Why compare at all? They are their own person. Treat them like that.

I see difference between tears of joy and tears of despair. Most royals has tears of joy and nobody talked that they're escped from their own wedding.
They are on the same position, in the same situation. It doesn't matter that Charlene were ordinary girl...now she's a Princess... sad Princess in sweatsuit or in black, long coat.

    18. Stop spreading lies. Charlene DID NOT TRY TO ESCAPE FROM HER OWN WEDDING! For godness sake the couple have talked about these lies several times. Obviously you should stop beliving that you know what other people are thinking or how they feel. This is just to stupid and serously we live in a completely different world today then we did in the 50',60'70 or 80'...so do the royals. Even Grace would have been seen in a tracksuit...oh she was ;)

  4. Imho Princess Charlene is a strikingly beautiful woman, as beautiful in her own distinctive way as Princess Grace was in hers (exquisite facial bone structure in both cases, but very differently-shaped faces: oval in Charlene's case, square in Grace's).

While Charlene keeps a comparatively low profile, and will always lack the extra layer of glamour that Grace's film star identity gave her, she conducts herself with dignity and I suspect that Prince Albert considers himself very fortunate.
