  1. Très belle robe-chemisier mais sur une couleur plus vive -comme du vert, par exemple- Kate aurait été lumineuse ; superbes les espadrilles compensées !

Love the dress, love the project - a wonderful initiative to support. Personally, I prefer her hair more off her face but she looks good.

  3. Wow, I think Catherine really nails it here. Black and white is a color combination we seldom see her in, and it "pops" -- creates a vibrancy that I wouldn't have expected. The dress fits well, has an easy elegance and at the same time looks very comfortable. The shoes hit just the right note for this type of engagement. The new, lighter look of Catherine's hair seems to be something people either love or strongly dislike; I love it as I think it is flattering to her and is especially attractive when styled with a good amount of volume, as here. Imo she does need to be careful about keeping the streaks very subtle, though. It's an easy thing to overdo.

Not a fan of this outfit and hairstyle. Too classic polka-dot dress. Wedge espadrilles would look better with a sundress.

Love the dress and the espadrilles. Her hair looks shiny and healthy. The setup of this event is great. The tent, bunting flags and oversized wooden letter blocks create a fun, relaxing space that is kid friendly.

Dress is alright (third or maybe forth extremely similar polka dot dress... but who’s counting? Maybe 15 is the limit...?). But her forced (so terribly forced facial expressions of ‘excitement’ are those that strike me. Why not be natural? She no longer has to ‘grow in the role’ like in her first years. She IS already firmly in that role and has nothing to prove anymore. So why not just be natural? Beats me.

    1. Well she looks fine and natural while doing the interview in the video maybe it's just you. Perhaps watch the video since she explains how important children's wellbeing is 😉

Don't get why you don't think she's natural. These are stills of an animated and distanced Catherine interacting with small children - it looks far less exaggerated when seen as video. And maybe she just is a very smiley person. Beats me that some people automatically associate a wide smile and happy demeanour with not being natural.

Well, let's be honest Rainha Leonor that's hardly a surprise. Trying to think of a time when you have anything remotely positive to say.

Still can't believe people are so cynical because someone smiles...

  8. I don't like the combination of the dress and the shoes. But anyway she looks lovely!

Yes, fashionweise this ist more vibrant than other outfits before. But, I had the impression, from photos lately, that she is more comfortable in her role. And then I watched the video. The way she talks is enormous artifical and trained, seems not much natural. Very strange, after all the time she has the role now.

There's nothing wrong with the way she talks - she has a very upper class English accent. It's a bit stronger than it was originally which is hardly surprising given the circles she moves in. But she never talked like a Cockney geezer in the first place - she's the product of some of the UK's top educational institutions. Not artificial, just posh.

    2. Yes, I have to agree. I got the same impression. Her responses tend to meander and sometimes not arrive to a point. Particularly in her response to the interviewer's first question.

I am sure she is passionate about the causes, as these pictures show. But hopefully her public speaking will continue to improve. I know early in her marriage and up until recently she did not do much public speaking in her role as the DoC.

On a fashion note I like the shoes and I think the dress is okay (very similar to her other polka dot shirt dresses) but I just don't think they go together. I do understand that espadrilles are more suited for navigating soft ground than say a stiletto. I wish she kept the shoes and swapped out the dress for something less rigid--especially since she was there to talk to families in a lovely garden environment.

Lastly, this hair color is lovely for the summer. The sweeping side fringes are a bit distracting and a little too glamorous for the occasion however.

Perhaps some people are not familiar with British accents. She had the best education in the country, so she sounded polish

Anna - she isn't public speaking, she's having conversations.

    5. Right. A conversation which is recorded and disseminated to the British general public.

My point still stands about her other (true) public speaking occasions.

But if we are going to be pedantic I hope the DoC evolves to be a more engaging conversationalist who brings substance and uses less filler words and phrases.

I don't think that saying a conversation (recorded or otherwise) is not the same as public speaking is being pedantic.

However, if you think I'm being pedantic I might as well go all out - you hope she uses fewer filler words and phrases.

  10. Not a great fan of polka dots in general but it's a nice dress which suits the Duchess well. Espadrilles :( Personally, I don't see her as coming across with forced facial expressions--inevitably the camera is sometimes going to catch smiley royals like Catherine in mid cheesy grin---think Maxima or Countess of Wessex. Her evident interest in her work and enthusiastic support for her chosen causes are what comes through to me when I see her

She is also meeting with families who have young children with them. She is encouraging them- as their kids are moving around - and helping them to feel comfortable talking while the kids are not merely sitting still by responding and being lighthearted about the kiddos. I find her very kind towards those around her.

I can't keep up with the changes in her hair, both colour and style. Not a fan of polka dots but I guess attending an event with children, they seem appropriate.

  13. I don´t think tha the Duchess hits the nail, with this outfit, for such an event, moreover I am not a fan of a big polka dots.

  14. I think she looks lovely , I adore the shoes, and the new hair color. I find her charming and very polished, although I have to say that she talks quite a bit but doesn't get her point across very well.
