  1. Magnifique aide de la part de la princesse Sofia... Cette couleur rouge lui va à ravir mais je préfère quand elle a les cheveux dans sa couleur naturelle brune ; avec ses yeux bleus, elle est splendide !

We see other royals working in front of the computer, speaking online, as they get updated by different organizations about current situation.
But Princess Sofia volunteers. She help out overworked stuff at the hospital. Less talk, more real work and contribution. Bravo.

    1. Sweden isn't under confinement yet unlike Spain and Belgium, so things cannot be compared. I very much respect Sofia for this kind of work. But I also respect other royals to abide their countries' laws and do their best under the given and very hard circumstances.

I think we have to remember that, because of security concerns, this would not be possible for some royals, particularly those on the throne or close to it. The security required for them would create a lot of disruption and do more harm than good. What those royals are doing is most likely what they are allowed to do. The higher the public profile, the more risk there is.

Chapeau. I never liked her, never, but if this is true and not just a photo op, it will be the first time I pay respect to that woman. Frieda

Absolutely not a photo op. I saw a pic of her and other volunteers in scrubs. Looks to be the real thing. I commend her for this. Wonderful job!!!! Diane

The hospital where the princess is volenteering, don´t have any Covid 19-patients. The hospital relieves C-19 hospials and performs surgical operations so other hospitals can take care of C-19 -patients.

Hats off to you Sofia, you're a heroine among other royalty ladies. Wish a lot of other will follow you're example. Beatrice, seeing that her wedding has been postponed, Eugenie, Elizabeth [Belgium], Isabella [Denmark]!

    1. It's nice to see Sophia volunteering. But in my opinion it is important for young Royals to do their obligatory school work. Especially Isabella of Denmark isn't an adult yet.
Is there any specific reason why you only named female Royals but no male Royal?

Some royalty ladies could follow Sofia's example. However, I must point out that Princess Beatrice and Eugenie have their jobs and they can only do charity in their free time - outside working hours. princess Elisabeth of Belgium is only 18 years old and still studying , princess Isabella of Denmark is still a child - 12 years old.

    3. Goodness, Isabella of Denmark is still a school girl of 12 or 13 years!
And Belgium is under confinement (prolongated until May 3rd) so Elisabeth has to stay at home.
As for the York princesses, I don't know the confinement Rules for the UK. But if there aren't such courses as in Sweden, any untrained volunteers would rather be a disturbance than a help.

Everyone is helping in different ways. It seems wrong to expect other Royals to behave in similar ways. All countries have different situations to contend with. In Australia I work as an emergency nurse and our thoughts are constantly with fellow nurses in other countries, our situatiion is good compared to them. Lets send love and kindness. Good on Sofia it takes courage to work in any medical setting at the moment. In the future those other young princess will do their countries proud too.

Swedish Prince Carl Philip and his wife Sofia know very well to handle the position of "second royal son". They do their activities with dignity, without much agitation, without media trouble, without fanfare, always with a smile, always with respect to higher-ranking family members. They never complain and seek cheap popularity. Some members of the British Royal Family should take an example from them.

You cannot compare the scale and character of the 'Institution' (if you understand what that means) of the British Royal Family to that of the Swedish Royal Family. One is the equivalent of a modern empire in terms of scale and responsibilities in contrast to the other. Therefore you cannot expect 'second royal son' of one family to be an example to 'some members' of the other, when their incumbent responsibilities and expectations are vastly different.

  5. The York princesses and their parents have been doing food deliveries for NHS workers as reported in the British media. My daughter in law works at one of the hospitals and said how much this had meant to the staff. In the meantime, apparently, Prince Harry has been criticising the British government for their actions....

  6. I didn’t expect anything like that from any royalty. Sofia should be appreciated more. While Kate is praised for a videochat with children, some people dare to go out and do real work that could matter. I don’t need the excuse of the different situations of different countries. Let’s be honest, if the situation was the same all over Europe, still all of the royalties stayed at home. I do enjoy seeing royalties fashion but recently all royal families were so desperate to prove that they work sooo much at home, it was a little bit too much for me. So it is so refreshing to see that Sofia didn’t just pose for some photos (Like she did a few weeks ago) but she actually did something that matters. I will probably get some negative reactions, I didn’t mean to hurt anybody, that is just my personal opinion.

Well, do you know what it would be like if Kate DID show up for something in person? Lots of security, lots of spectators and lots of people. She's followed everywhere, so it's better for everyone that she stays home. The security alone would even bother those who are actually doing their jobs. I'm sure Kate is doing what she can within the boundaries that are set for her :)

Now this is a wonderful example of what to do in a crisis. Find whatever you are able and allowed to do as a royal and go for it. Wonderful job!! Wendy
