This post is what you call damage control or public relations. After being seen having so much fun skiing I would not doubt that there advisors encouraged them to do what they should have done in the first place and show some compassion for those suffering before going on a vacation. They really are a wonderful and caring couple!!!

What damage? There haven't been any damage in Norway.

If you read the comments on the post with the skiing photos you will see that they didn't need to go "on vacation" to go skiing. It's on their doorstep. And I have heard of no damage done to require control. I agree that they are a wonderful and caring couple.

And going out for fresh air doesn't mean a lack of compassion. Seriously...

The damage control was to say we should have not been seen laughing it up while others are burying their love ones. The proof is in the pudding look how quickly they changed their tunes. No they did not break any laws but it appeared they were showing no respect. We look up to royals to show us how to react especially when so many are grieving. Show some compassion. Who cares what Norway's laws were!!!

I look up to them BECAUSE they found a creative way to be active in all the madness. I RESPECT them for that reason. You can't blame them for doing what everyone else in Norway does.

How about you show some compassion and respect that other people think and behave differently from you?
Norwegian laws has everything to with it as this incident happened in Norway.

My guess is that people in Norway who are severely affected by the coronavirus are at their cabin in the mountains right now. Or at the beach or in the forests hiking or skiing, doing the same thing as everybody else here.

And what proof are you talking about? Maybe this meeting was planned last week? Or on Monday this week? There's no way you could know that. These are busy people they're talking with.

  3. They must have heard all the people on this site who have been criticising them for skiing in the snow on their doorstep and daring to look as if they were enjoying it!! :) Great couple. Well done.

You guys just don't give up, don't you?

Here's the only Norwegian article that I've seen about their skiing/climbing trip:
    https://www.dagbladet.no/kjendis/kom-meg-til-toppen/72340758
It is worth mentioning that Dagbladet is a major Norwegian newspaper who loves to criticise our royal family at every opportunity they get, but apparently they couldn't find anything negative about them now. The headline is that they reached the top. A royal expert is also saying stuff about how they usually celebrate Easter, and they're also writing about how they're an active family. You know, they CLEARLY needed some damage control! How rude to write about how they reached the top and how they're so active ;)
A few days have gone by and then nada. No new articles about them.

No one in my country cares. Use your time on something that has real value instead. Call your friends, do something nice for your spouse or your family, try to find positive and beautiful things in your everyday lives, even though they're altered at the moment. Do something nice for yourself, pick up a new hobby... Waking up with a crabby attitude everyday will only get you so far.

You didn't ask for this, but I will share it anyway: My plan for tomorrow is to go the beach by a Norwegian lake. I'm gonna sit there by the lake with my family and I'm gonna eat some cake and drink lots of coffee. I'm gonna enjoy the sun and my company. Went to the beach a couple of days ago also, because we're allowed to do that here in Norway. There were some other people there too, but don't you worry about me - Norwegians are awesome at social distancing! ;)

  5. The Red Cross do amazing work, world wide. The Volunteers are a wonderful group of people doing the best they can in extradionry circumstances. Their resources must be stretched to the limit with this pandemic. I am glad the work they do is being highlighted by the Crown Prince and Crown Princess .

  8. Good Lord, ladies. Quit bitching. Everyone the world over are flying by the seat of their pants. There are no rules or hard right or wrongs here. This virus is affecting everyone in one way or another. I live in Canada and our Prime Minister has basically said that this is going to go on through the summer. So lets play nice and maybe make things a little nicer for each other.

Can people please take chill pill. As a Scandinavian I can tell you no one in any of our countrys see anything wrong with these two going skiing in their own hometown. Only good remarks. This is the Scandinavian life.
