The Prince of Wales has recovered from the COVID-19

The Prince of Wales has recovered from coronavirus, and is now out of isolation, according to Clarence House, the Prince of Wales' official residence. The Prince spent seven days self-isolating in Scotland after testing positive and displaying mild symptoms. The Prince tested positive for the highly contagious disease last week, becoming the first member of the British royal family to be struck down by it. Charles spent his seven days of quarantine at his Birkhall home on the royal Balmoral estate.

Yes, she is - until the end of the week. To make sure she hasn't caught it.

  3. Today is the anniversary of passing of Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes Lyon,HM Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother. Beloved, and unsurpassed in popularity by any other royal. She would have been proud of her favorite grand-son HRH Prince of Wales. To the young royals all over Europe a quote might be a guidance to live through these days:
During WWII, in response to a suggestion that dark clothing would be more appropriate than her usual pastels and high heels she said, "They would wear their best dresses if they were coming to see me."

    1. Thanks Liza for this reminder of the Queen Mum. May she rest in peace. A remarkable woman who was much to do with the force, education etc. behind Queen Elizabeth II. A picture summary of some of her hats would go down well here on "newmyroyals".

    2. Thank you for pointing this all out.
Excellent quote to recall, as well. Thank you.

7 days? Really? Why not 14?

Yes, I wondered that too, esp when WHO and CDC officials have told us the length for quarantining is 14, and longer for those infected.

Je me suis également posée la question ; certainement que ses symptômes légers ont raccourci sa période d'isolement.. Il faut souhaiter que pour Camilla, nous aurons d'aussi bonnes nouvelles !

Yeah, I don't understand that either. How come he only has to do 7 and the rest of the world has to do 14? BRF, "men in grey," and or "tptb," explain please.

14-21 days is what they are saying you should isolate yourself. If he really had it, his doctors are doing him a dis-service in saying 7 days is enough to 'get over it'. I had it, and had to self-isolate for 21 days. Been there, done it, now have the antibodies to hopefully not get it again.... JT (he could have had a 'false positive' and then symptoms of a light cold, who knows.

The official advice in the UK (remember it's not the same in other countries) is that you should isolate for 7 days from the day you first show symptoms, and the rest of your household should isolate for 14 days (to be sure they aren't incubating the virus before showing symptoms). The Prince of Wales has followed the same advice given to everyone here.

I thought the same. So quickly? I think it's also to give hope cause there was a doctor in UK who died in corona today. And I guess he is good enough to be able to confirm this.

This, of course, is wonderful news. However, I'm still left with confusion on his situation. I don't understand why Camilla has to stay in isolation when she had a negative diagnoses, but Charles is out after only 7 days with a Positive diagnosis. Did he get a re-test that shows he now is negative.? And if he hasn't had a retest, how do they know there may still be some infection present, even though he now is showing no symptoms. And couldn't he still be infectious ?

  10. To Anon 6 14, it is 7 days if you have it yourself, 14 days if you have been in contact with someone who may have it.---ie 7 days of potential incubation and 7 days of illness

    1) Researchers studied 16 patients with mild cases of coronavirus who were treated at PLA General Hospital in Beijing from January 28 to February 9
Half of patients were carriers of the virus even after their symptoms disappeared.
    2) Some were able to shed the virus for up to eight days even after their fevers and coughs resolved.

    3) The team suggested that patients self-isolate for longer than 14 days to ensure others are not infected.

  13. 7 days is not enough. All health organizations are saying AT LEAST 14 days and possibly longer. After the 14 you are supposed to get 2 negative tests taken 24 hrs apart to confirm you don't still have it and aren't passing it on to others. I hope he is not unknowingly spreading this.

14 Days is the recommended;he could be at risk of infecting others ;that is the whole idea of the isolation;not I feel okay now so I will go out.Fashion personified; shoes and trousers, match the curtains and the chair;I'll have to try that.

Have to wonder who he will infect if he does not abide by the 14 day, two negative test protocol. Sad really, he should be setting a better example for the country.

He's not suddenly going out partying. He doesn't have to be apart from everyone else in his immediate vicinity now. He's still in confinement.

  18. Have gone back to this page while looking for today's info. Repeat, the government in the UK--may well be different elsewhere, I accept,--- has stated that if a person is diagnosed with Covid-19 (and we all know that it is difficult for a normal citizen to get a test) and is not in contact with other people or seriously unwell, then 7 days is sufficient. They may be wrong and I am not a doctor but that is the information we are asked to follow and it is unfair to criticise someone who does this as asked. However, if you have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19, then the time limit is 14 days--7 to allow incubation, 7 for the illness. Seems straightforward to me. mercifully, I have had no members of immediate family infected but more distant links eg Daughter in law's brother have had mild version and been out and about in 7 days as per the guidelines.

Well, i guess, 7 or 14 days doesn't depend on him, he is following the UK recommendations; so the doctors will have the responsibility in his case (and others).
