  1. Gorgeous outfits; Queen Sonia reminds us of her choice of white outfit for the Royal visit of King and Queen of Jordan in 2000: white and emeralds. She and her husband, King Harald, played hosts to King Abdullah and Queen Rania. Her refine two piece outfit, with an echo of folk embroidery, is a jewel in its own right. Beautiful .

  2. Both ladies look great, but this would have been a great "tiara" opportunity.

    1. La reine Rania a très peu de diadèmes et ils sont très modestes par rapport à ceux de la reine Sonia,il valait mieux éviter la compétition.

    2. I agree with you Genni! I miss tiaras to these outfits. Maybe it is not the custom to wear royal tiaras in Jordan?

It could also be that because the occasion was not formal Black or White tie, that tiaras and honorary decorations were not required.

Wow! Queen Rania's gown looks sensational on her. The copper-colored bodice is perfect with her coloring and combined with the blue skirt with copper embroidery, it is the most outstanding gown I've seen in a long time.

I agree. I can't remember when I saw a gown this exquisite. And Rania carries it off with such ease and poise. She doesn't have that brittle look of a model on the runway. She looks so natural. A difficult look to achieve and Rania certainly knows how to do it. I am in awe.

@unknown 8:31: Although Rania looks lovely, calling how she looks ‘natural’ is really funny.....

    4. Lily T. totally agree with you. Very heavy make up and as Melania Trump, she should not be afraid to change her hair style..

When I referred to Rania as looking "natural," I wasn't referring to her makeup. I was talking about her carriage - her body language. She didn't look stiff as though she were modeling the dress.

Neither was I, referring to her makeup, I mean. She has had far too much plastic surgery, totally unnatural face..

Oh, I see what you mean now. I had heard about her plastic surgery, but for some reason my eye just went to her gown.

Oh wow...now Queen Sonja and Queen Rania have swapped dress colours from the morning - Sonja is in ful white/cream and Rania is in blue and brown, lol.
Rania's outfit is quite a creation. The sleeves and collar require some technique (though I'm not a fan of that style of collar tbh) and the cut of the skirt portion of the dress and train fall beautifully. The blue and copper colours are also the correct complimentary tones as far as I can tell.
Sonja's gown also looks beautiful though I wish we had a better view without the shawl, though the shawl itself is beautiful with the lacework. Very nice to both ladies.

I like the silhouette of Rania´s outfit, but top and bottom clash, both in terms of colours or fabrics.

I disagree…… Queen Rania looks absolutely stunning in the thick bronze silk blouse and the blue skirt, it goes very beautiful together,IMO.
Queen Sonja dressed all in white looks great too.

  7. Wow, these ladies are bringing the glamor! I love the way Sonja’s winter white gown sets off her emeralds. Raina’s earrings are gorgeous, and the detailing on her gown is fascinating. Although very dramatic, I find the blue and copper color combination a little harsh, though. Imo its beautiful lines would be easier on the eyes if the lower part of it were in a pastel or an earth tone in the cream-to-brown range.

Crown Prince Hussein looks wonderful in his regal and dignified traditional attire.

I agree with you. These two colors are a bit harsh and loud. The gold blouse is quite beautiful tho.

    2. I like your vision of a earth tone to go with the bronze colour of the top. I can totally see that. Myself, I was thinking of navy blue as a good complement to the top. In any case, both colours need to be either warm or cold. The strong blue of the skirt as is would have worked beautifully with a silver or white top I think (making both colours cold). Of course, the embroidery in the skirt would then have to be silver/white as well.

  8. Queen Rania looks splendid, her outfit is sensational. Love the blouse especially the unusual collar, glorious flowing sleeves, colour is stunning and suits her well. The blue skirt and copper embroidery detail is absolutely exquisite, love the shade of blue of the skirt. Her matching copper eye makeup looked fantastic. Queen Sonja looked lovely, I would have liked the see her gown without the shawl to have a better view of it.

  9. Rania’s dress is just fabulous, the bronze color of the top is beautiful, the collar is a work of art, the sleeves are different and elegant, and the skirt OMG!! the most beautiful mermaid silhouette, and the details have a somewhat ethnic vibe. I am in love with this outfit. I must say that I don’t t like her hair, it’s fussy, and distracts from the magnificent gown.
Another great look for Queen Sonja, that is how you wear white, I like the detail of the waist very much, and the shawl just adds a little bit of chic to the dress.
    Both look lovely!!

Both Queens look great. Would have loved to see a little bling. The CP wore the National Dress, it looked good on him.

  14. Queen Noor started with the low-key look when it comes to tiaras and other 'bling' as she said it is not fair to the poor people of Jordan. Very considerate IMO.

  16. Wowza, QRania looks amazing. This is one for the books! Colors, design, draping, details on material at collar and on skirt. Really divine.

I like QSonja's gown, very lovely and nice detailing. I especially like that she has the bolg emerald jewelry with it and it's not over or underdone.

    They both look lovely.

Queen Sonja looks fantastic, she is 82 years old and still looks amazing. A strong lady who talks about womens rights/liberation - and the importance of women working in Jordan. A true feminist!
