Sorry to say, but mrs Von Der Leyen and mrs Vestager win over queen Mathilde here ! There seems to be something wrong with the fabric and the cut of this red dress.

    1. Margrethe Vestager is the best dressed lady in these pics. I love her blue dress.

    2. Looks like Angela Merkel's tailor (she never had a dressmaker) has won the contract to be the outfitter for Madame Von Der Leyen. Or maybe Mme Von Der Leyen has bought, at a knocked down price, Mme Merkel's old wardrobe.

  7. I like this red dress-rarely met a red outfit I don't like--but not keen on the high neck at the front and it's not very flattering from the back view. With a V or round neck I would happily wear this one myself. :) Also like the apricot coloured jacket and the plum coloured dress worn by two of the guests

  8. I'm not a fan of Mathilde's dress. She looks fine in it, I just personally don't like this style. I wish she had on the dark pink/light red suit jacket, that is wonderful. Her hair and makeup look fabulous though.

Nice color for dress for the Queen, but something is a little off, maybe it is just me. I do like the combo from Ursula von der Leyen, she seems to take Angela Merkels style. Pants and dress jacket.

    1. I hope she will not always wear the same type of outfit like Merkel does. Mrs von der Leyen does have a figure be able to wear elegant clothes.

  10. The Queen looks lovely but not my type of dress. Her hair looks terrific, makeup natural, lovely. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the lady, but the lovely woman in black pants beautiful pink? fitted jacket and accompanying top with little flat blacks looks stunning. Love this outfit, complemented with pearl necklace, perfect.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has built up a lot of personality and, yes: beauty! in her new job.
As a German minister she used to have a bit of a wallflower image, but now, quite out of the blue, she is shining from inside, her hair is elegantly dressed and she wears this Angela-Merkel-like-business-look in a more flourish way.
Though here, the sleeves of this otherwise very nice jacket are too long.
Her entire style is a smart and klassy female interpretation of a male outfit. With those long sleeves her appearance gets a too maskuline spin.

I love the dress and colour. But not for Mathilde. She looks voluminous in it, what might be caused by the fact that lately Mathilde gained some weight. At least that is my impression.
