  1. OMG!! Catherine looks gorgeous, It doesn't get better that this, what a beautiful dress and what a great idea to make it midi length, simple silhouette because the fabric doesn't need much more, it's hard to make an entire red palette work, but she surely does. My only small quibble is that I think she needs to get her hair a little texturized, right now it looks a little big and distracts from the outfit, of course that is my personal preference.
I also really like Sophie's dress, it's original, flattering and very pretty, not as glamorous as Catherine's , but nevertheless just as good within her own style, good hair and nice complements as well.

    1. Agree with your comments only I think Sophie's dress is a little tight on her.

    2. I agree. I think the dress is smashing. It cost under 500 pounds and looks so much better than her multi-thousand pound bespoke pieces.

Funny that they both wore red. I like both dresses. Catherines is very elegant and smart and the Countess looks appropriate and not too dressy. I liked the Alaia dress when she first wore it as well. I've seen better hairstyles on Catherine at such events but she looks OK here.

  4. Beautiful esemble on Catherine and Sophie and Princess Royal. Agree with some who said the hairstyle is a bit dowdy. The white gown of the lady in the second pic is as well very beautiful.

Beautiful dresses on Catherine and Sophie, although Sophie's is way too tight on the top, you can see her rolls, it must be uncomfortable. Catherine's darker red is more befitting this high-level evening occasion. Hmmm... I can't imagine why they are all smiling so much. À la the Daily Mail, it's a "new era". Indeed! William & Catherine do well wherever they go. ~Rose~

  6. Two gorgeous red dresses. What a delight. Sophie’s dress is lovely and suits her well but Catherine’s is just glorious. The shoes, bag and earrings are superb too. While she’s not in the same sartorial league, though her outfit also suits her well, it’s good to see Princess Anne in such cheerful form. 😀

  7. Bien jolie robe de Kate avec de magnifiques escarpins… Je préfère le style de Sophie dans ce rouge corail ; très délicatement coiffée !

The Duchess of Cambridge looks stunning in this dress. What a winning look. Agree that I don't like how her hair is styled but otherwise perfection! DMP

  9. I really, really applaud the Cambridges, who just get on with their job with the least possible amount of drama.
Kate looks wonderful and regal (if slightly old-fashioned) in that dress, I think her hairstyle makes her look a bit older, but on the whole she's stunning. I love Sophie's dress, it has a sort of 40s vibe? As does the hairstyle, makes her look quite young and teen-ish. Lovely.

The ladies all look lovely. The hair styles are as they say age appropriate what ever that means. You have a hair style that you find easy to manage and not too fussy;or needs too much attention.

I won't qualify Catherine's hair style easy to manage... are you looking at the same pictures that I am? That hair was tortured with gigantic rollers. A blow dry and a finishing curling iron... simple?

Catherine's dress, shoes, and hair are great! I also really like how Sophie styled her hair for this event. Nice to see these two ladies together in pics.

Catherine looks beautiful- top marks all around, love the midi length! Sophie looks great too- her hair especially, it has so much more body. Also love Anne here- her check is nice but I really love her encouraging William- massive amount of respect for her and all she does as a member of the royal family.

  13. Catherine nails it here, absolutely stunningly! I love the subtle play of textures in her dress, varying the tones of deep red. And the sparkle factor is perfectly modulated, not too glittery, just elegant enough for the occasion.

I’d have loved to see Sophie in something a little more glam, perhaps the same dress in a cut velvet or silk moire (and a tad bit more ease above the waist!). I’m not a fan of bright saturated colors, so the ketchup red doesn’t work for me — just my personal taste.

I must say all the RL looked great. Kate and Sophie are stunning. Anne looks good only her jacket the plaid is to large , she has a small frame. But it is nice to see them all smile and having a good time.

  16. Catherine looks lovely, red suits her well.

i like the 5th picture where Kate and William are laughing hilariously with the Kenyan president. Its like he is telling William 'the cabin were you proposed is waiting for your return' 😃

  17. Simply stunning on Kate! What a gorgeous look! The colour is great on her, she nails the length, kept her accessories simple and her hair is beautiful. I love the glitter and glamour of this look without overdoing it.
Sophie looks very good too; like the dress a lot, nice colour too. I love her hair: It's simple but makes her look young and fresh. Although, like I often see, her dress seems (too) tight at the back.

  18. Love Catherine and Sophie's looks - agree about the Duchess's hair.

Anne is Anne - smart but a little frumpy and looking as if she is dressed for a totally different event.

Kate had a beautiful dress! Expressive yet subdued color. Not as bright as Sophie. Although the cut of the Sophie's dress is very pretty. I'm not a fan of Princess Anna's jacket. It's too everyday stylization. In general, gentlemen, as usual, had easier;)

  20. I especially loved Princess Anne's outfit. Maybe not so glorious, but very nice. Sophie's beautiful dress is a bit too tight.

Sophie's dress is a bit tight on her back, yes - but my overall impression is nevertheless: Perfect dress for her beautifully feminine body with curves exactly where they should be! I like her silhouette very much in this dress, her hairstyle perfectly complementing the overall impression. - Catherine is exquisite as almost always, her hairstyle is somewhat overwhelming (as almost always when she wears it down). And what a pity that Princess Ann is not willing to change her hairstyle ... (Ann.)

  22. Kate’s dress is beautiful, but I don’t like it when her hair is soo big. I like her with shorter hairstyle and when there isn’t way too much texture in it.

    1. The dress of Kate is so beautiful, i like it very much. And her slim figure.

  23. @Ann. Agree! For my opinion Sophie should prefer to wear her hair loose, like today. With her usual buns she looks much older.

Why is the Duchess holding a purse in a reception line? All the ladies look wonder within the context of their own style.

  25. The Duchess looks lovely, red is definitely her colour. I really like the length, a lot going on with the dress, I prefer more streamlined, but personal preference. She looks very elegant. Choice of shoes and clutch perfect.

  26. Would love to see Sophie’s hair styled shorter.

The ladies look lovely, however I wish Anne had chosen a brighter ensemble. Sophie and Kate’s dresses really pop in the group photo.
