On December 18, 2019, Dutch Queen Maxima, honorary president of More Music in Classroom platform, attended TV recording of the Christmas Music Gala 2019 at IJsselhallen in Zwolle. The gala involved performances by the largest school band in the Netherlands consisting of children from all provinces. There were also musical contributions from Wibi Soerjadi, Suzan & Freek and Gerard Joling, among others. |
During the gala, More Music in Classroom platform celebrated the successes of the past year. The Christmas Music Gala 2019 will be broadcasted on December 22, 2019 at 21:30 on NPO 1 TV Channel. (Queen Maxima wore a sequin dress by Nina Ricci.) |
I love it! It’s sleek, it’s festive, and most of all it’s monochrome. An added bonus - her hair looks great too. ( V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThe dress is superbe, the hairstyle spoils iT for me.
ReplyDeleteWell, talk about bad hair day and I don't mean Q Maxima. Lis
ReplyDeleteJa jaja
DeleteI was thinking this is one way to make Max's hair look good - stand next to someone who's hair is worse. :D
DeleteEuropa
:-D Exactly my thought!
DeleteWhen I started with the first photo I didn't like the dress or the look, but by the time I reached the end, I just loved it. Such a different look for Maxima! She looks like a rock star (a gracefully aging one). Best of all as far as I'm concerned, is that her style blends in nicely with the young stars and youthful audience. There's no flashy jewellery and no statement hat and her hair is in sync with the type of event and it's purpose. This is not a time for "Oh, she's too old to dress like that" or any such sentiments. She is simply being appropriate to the occasion in good form, and from all indication of the photos, her audiences love it.
ReplyDeleteWell done to Max and especially to the cause, which is one I absolutely endorse.

If you ever complain about Queen Maxima's hair remember hairdo of the woman standing next to her in the very first photo.
ReplyDeleteAva
Lol 😁
Deletethe other woman is not a queen, and probably felt bad about her hair, or maybe she'd been ill, and not able to have a professional style her hair, maybe she does not have the means to have a professional help her, or have hair extensions like the queen.
DeleteThe other woman is Caroline Gehrels, former deputy mayor of Amsterdam. Indeed stalking about a bad hair dat!
Delete@ Anon 4:15 AM , Hair comb doesn't cost much!
DeleteAVA
Ha ha ha, Ava! My thoughts exactly!
DeleteMaybe the poor woman had a reason, just saying. The queen on the other hand has many combs, brushes, stylists, professionals and her hair looks a wicked mess most of the time. I feel bad for the bad hair woman, whoever she is, she has courage to stand there and make the most of it.
Delete@anon 11.40: mrs Gehrels does not have a bad hair day....... she always looks like that. Most Dutch women look unkempt, even at official gatherings or parties.
DeleteOk, I'm going to say it: for once, Maxima has the best hair there. She looks great, festive dress, beautiful hair. Well done Maxima. Now keep it up!
ReplyDeleteChel
As for gracefully ageing - she simply looks good, whatever her age is, methinks :-). Hair is superb, compared to her usual hairstyles almost unbelievably refined :-). This type of simple figure (and waist) hugging dress suits her body type extremely well and she wears it thousand times better than the model. (Ann.)
ReplyDeleteMaxima passed on her bad hair to the lady in green! At least she got rid of it... this time.
ReplyDeleteMeghan
Haha, you made my day, Anonymous December 19 at 2.53, I never knew how Maxima dared appear in public with her messy hair.
DeleteHaha for me as well! It can be taken both as humor and reality!! well done Meghan
DeleteMax being fabulous as per usual.
ReplyDeleteWell done!!
ReplyDeleteGreat look for Maxima.
ReplyDeleteMáxima got it right this time, the dress is festive and has enough bling on its own, so she made the right choice by not adding her usual excessive jewerly, hair looks good and healthier than usual. All in all, she loons very good.
ReplyDeleteFor me this is all wrong - too artificial - everything.
ReplyDeleteAar
The Queen looks wonderful in this dress.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Maxima surely had to pull herself very much together next to the woman in green with that special hairdo. That woman's dog surely needed a long time chewing on every streak.
ReplyDeleteIf I where Her Majesty, I would have been sitting on the floor laughing sillily.
Katrin
I, as most of you usually criticize Maxima for her bad hair, this time she got it "right" but to comment about the lady in green is just unnecessary, as someone else mentioned above, she is not a queen, we don't know if she is having health issues, and she might not have access to a hairstylist, as Maxima does, might be a good idea to leave her alone and just comment about the queen.
DeleteLuna
Yes, I'm sorry. That was absolutely unnecessary. I thought about my comment, that's why I looked it up again and you gave me the chance to correct myself and to apologise, what I want to do now.
DeleteIn addition: Caroline Gehrels seems to be a tough woman who actively tries to change things to a better way.
Katrin
One of the few times I like everything about Maxima, her dress looks good on her and her hair is finally very nicely styled, it makes her look younger too.
ReplyDelete‘Meer musik in de klasse’ is a great little pin on both Q. Maxima’s dress n her host! More music in the class room!!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit--it's sleek stylish, smart and makes Maxima look fantastic. The dark tights are a welcome improvement the shiny ones she often wears.. The first photo made me laugh out loud for the reasons already stated :)
