  2. Lovely family. The kids are growing up to handsome young ladies and men. They are all very well dressed . All are pretty elegant and happy.

    1. Totally agree. And Mary is in dire need of a hair cut. Makes her face look old.

    4. And I thought how very youthful she looked. Admittedly, I am not a fan of the coat.

    5. It is not new close they have on and I can see that Issabella have been in her mothers closset that is not the first time. And as for the hair it was a privet outhing

    6. No,I don't agree. It's a long dark and cold winter in their part of the world. Comfort and warmth, not fashion, are the order of the day. Love the idea of Mary's coat for a bit of Christmas gay-ness.

  5. Hmm...I think the gents get higher marks than the ladies here, although Isabella and Josephine's nice, neat coats improve their appearance by hiding the awkward look of their turtlenecks tucked into their skirts. (I can't explain why a turtleneck tucked into a pleated or gathered skirt always looks wrong, but somehow it does.)

  7. Charmante et belle famille.. Tous les enfants ont bien grandi ; les garçons et les filles sont très bien vêtus... Je ne suis pas fan de la tenue de Mary même si elle est jolie !!!

    1. Yes there is an unbalance between the grey, and a bit dull, coats of the girls and Mary's exuberant coat.

  9. My oh my, why do children often look so utterly matronly in "chic dresses" when these dresses don't correspond to their age? Is that blue plaid skirt really necessary? Frieda

    1. Yes, the blue plaid skirt is really necessary. And the amber colored skirt and the turtle necks as well. And why? Because the two girls want to wear them. And they like to wear them.
Why do people (mostly female) always have to destroy the joy and pride of other people (mostly female) about things they wear or own???? Everyone is entiteled to have different taste. But really nobody is entiteled to this rudeness. I don't like the dress, hair, make up, shoes, etc. of any other person? No problem. I just keep my mouth shut and only open it again if there is something positive to say. Especially girls and young women should be encouraged to be like they are, to wear what they like and be proud of it an be proud of themselves.
This kind of so called well-intentioned criticism is not contructive nor well meant. It is only rude and destroying. Black Widow

    2. OH! OH! nicely said and I agree with you.

    3. A bit exaggerated Black Widow, no? I was only commenting on clothes, which look a bit odd on the girl. I don*t think any of the children made their own clothing choice, they are not Lieschen Mueller, but royalty in public. So at least it*s their mother who has the final say as for clothes in puplic. But be it...it was a bad choice of clothing. Full Stop. Please do not put all comments on a psychological level. I am not a fan of exaggerated political correctness. I like the truth and I harm anyone with it. Thank you, Frieda

    4. I'm not in agreement with your comments Frieda, and I'm more on side with Black Widow's point of view. I doubt that these young girls are 'made' to wear anything, especially for a casual, family event like this, royalty or not. I'm more inclined to guess that they are allowed to choose items from some suggested selections in their wardrobe. If their mother is supportive of their choice as it seems to be, then it's no ones business to declare that the items were a 'bad choice', full stop or not.

    5. I´m dead certain that the girls didn´t choose their outfits (nor the boys for that matter). This is clearly a coordinated family effort, and they are out in public. A private visit it may be, but they were sure to be seen and photographed, so this is still a public outing.
Anyway, about commenting on children´s clothing: I see absolutely no harm in it as long as the comments are civil and constructive (which applies universally). Young royals will face public scrutiny their whole life, and it is crutial for them to get a feel for what is perceived well and what is not. And I don´t see the point in refraining from criticism until they´re 18 and then suddenly they are fair game? Might lead to serious struggles then. At this point, commenting on their outfit is very much commenting on the choices made by someone for them anyway, very likely Mary.
I don´t think Frieda was rude in any way. And I must say that I agree with her opinion. I actually even like the turtlenecks, but why black? I also like the gray coats, but together with the black tops, the effect is very drab. And neither skirt looks quite right on them.

    6. Hi Frieda, if you are not a fan of exaggerated political correctness - I am, too. But I am a big fan of politeness. And being polite often means just to say nothing. As you are german, you know what Dieter Nuhr says.... Black Widow

  11. I think the girls look fine. Isabella obviously likes her choice,as a parent of a preteen as long as its not short or revealing encourage and be positive. Eventually they get some style. Give them confidence.

Some people obviously don't get the sense of a fashion blog. This blog is all about exchanging the views of the royal fashion choices. I have been on this blog for many years now and I have hardly ever seen a 'rude' or disrespectful comment. As somebody stated above, an outing of a royal family, where pictures are taken is never an only private outing. They step into the limelight and they know it. And it is very likely to assume that they think about what they are wearing. And it is also likely to assume that the parents have a look on what the children are wearing before they step out. I personally think that the pleated skirt of Isabella with the tucked in turtle neck jumper is not a good choice. The skirt is presumably taken from her mothers wardrobe and it doesn't suit the teenager and doesn't fit well. It is too big and too long and together with the flat boots and the tucked in jumper it is imply not a good look. This is all that was said in some comments above. Nobody was being 'rude' against the young girl. It is just a fashion statement.

On the other hand I find it quite rude from some Anonymous users who still don't bother to sign with a name, although it is clearly demanded in the blog policies, which you can find at the bottom of the page >>(We will not publish unnamed comments that were posted without stating a name or nickname)<<, to think that they could teach longtime users, who have made valuable fashion comments over the years, on how to 'behave' on this blog. First 'behave' yourself.

  13. I think they are all gorgeous and sensibly and appropriately dressed for the cold weather!! We will never know who picked what to wear and as the mother of former teens and tweens I can tell you sometimes it's a battle. They are a beautiful family!!
