Mathilde is a goodlooking woman and still Young.....She could look so much better. This dress for instancr is quite nice and colourful in itself and not a Natan, praise be😉, but it looks drab on her. The combination with the meh hairdo and the midheel shoes (coward heels we call these in the Netherlands) make her look so boring and dull and 10 years older....

    1. The dress doesn't fit her well around the waist. Frankly, I do not like that dress.

Mathilde and Maxima weer ill fitting clothes all the time..... very strange as every garment can be tailored to impeccable fitting. Look at Letizia. Even her Zara frocks are tailored to perfection.

  5. Love the shoes but I'm afraid this dress is too much for me--hurts the eyes and doesn't flatter. Horizontal stripes are difficult for anyone who is not as thin as the model and this dress makes the Queen look as if she has a serious "mum tum" It also rides up when she is seated, making it quite revealing. However, it is miles better than the look of the lady sitting next to her who has teamed a yellow dress, of 1970s fabric design, with truly hideous clumpy shoes.

    1. And the 'lady' sitting next to Mathilde is not ladylike, sitting with her legs crossed.

Nothing wrong with sitting with your legs crossed. Sitting with your legs open, that is not done.

We women have bellies, and when you reach a certain age, it becomes quite difficult to stay willowy thin in that area due to hormonal changes etc., even if you have been thin-waisted in your youth. Even Kate and Letizia may have to face that truth one day. I'm glad that Mathilde and Maxima (as well as Mette-Marit) show us what a normal and healthy post-menopausal female body looks like.

The dress looks fun to my eyes, and so do the shoes, too. Nice to see more variety in the heel front.

  11. What a wonderful business (and elegant) look for HM. Not everyone looks good in plaid. I love that she has found her stride. She has grown a great deal, much more confident over the last few years. A genuine style has emerged.

I actually love this dress and think Mathilde looks very good in it. She's worn it before and I liked it then and like it now too. Same for the shoes. The dress has a Madras feel about it and I like the long stripe effect along one side of it.
