On August 5, 2019, Japanese Emperor Naruhito, his wife Empress Masako and their daughters Princess Aiko returned to Tokyo after a weekend holiday at Suzaki Imperial Villa in Shizuoka. About 200 people welcomed the imperial family at Tokyo Station.
It is always nice to see the Imperial Family. Empress Masako looks lovely.Pss Aiko's dress is very nice.She is almost as tall as her mother. For Aiko maybe a tiny heel shoe, would be perfect?.
Not easy to understand the situaion with Aiko. Easy thinking would be that she borrows clothing from her mother, for ex.! The press (mentionning also official sources) reported difficulties with her. Ex: Aiko, known as the princess who rarely smiles, had occasionally missed class while in elementary school. She was unable to attend school for a spell in 2010 after being shocked at the “rough behaviour” of some boys in her grade at her primary school. When she eventually returned to class, for a couple of hours a day, her mother had to go with her." Also : The teenage daughter of Japan’s Crown Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako has missed one month of school with an unidentified medical complaint, according to the Imperial Household Agency. Let's hope she finds her way to self-confidence, why not through appropriate cloth styling. It is nice to see her smiling today, and wishing her the best.
MaryT, August 7, I think that being born the girl who should have been a boy, watching your mother being smashed and spiral down to depression because of this tradition of male heirdom, her guilt over not obliging expectations pressed upon her as crown Princess, all that must have had a very profound influence on Princess Aiko's childhood and youth. Let's hope for the best for this lovely kind , loving family!
MaryT, Aiko is now 17 years old. At 2010 she was 8. Do you really think it is necessary to bring past problems of such a young child with bullying to discus today as her weakness problems. REALLY?
Also there cannot be a child in Japan who has had and has more mental pressure than princess Aiko. All that expectation of different gender child, being only child of emperor, old fashion etiquette, living in very closed golden gage, possibly being very lonely in her position etc.

Omg, Aiko looks so stylish and pretty -- the black and white print really pops on her! And her hair is styled quite becomingly. Such a difference from the departure photos, it's astonishing. (True that a low heel would have perfected the look -- but I'm so happy I don't mind!)
Masako is beautiful and put-together as always, a pleasure to behold.
I thought exactly the same : very nice dress on Princess Aiko, who looks quite the young lady now, but would look even more so with low heels, or wedges.
Empress Masako looks crisp and smart - her jackets are a bit less boxy and more shaped than other ladies in the family wear, and this gives a more modern look.
I like the print of Aiko's dress - a bit more dramatic than we have seen before and her earrings are very nice. I don't think the sandals are great but other than that she looks nice. She seems very sweet.
The Empress looks wonderful here - relaxed elegance. I don’t think it’s fair to criticize her daughter’s appearance. She’s still a young teenager and finding her way in the world of fashion. I remember some of the goofy things I wore at this age. Thank goodness the world press wasn’t watching me! (V.M.)

ردحذفI wonder why the daughter is wearing those stockings? It makes her appear much older to have her young legs covered in that fashion.
