  1. Very nice classic dress, it looks a little vintage, and sort of reminds me of what "the ladies" would've worn to watch a tennis match back in the day. I don't like the belt, I think it takes away from the the design, and distracts. Good shoes, and very cute handbag, although I wonder why won't she use the strap, and wear it over the shoulder, so she won't end up resting it in such awkward way

      Agree.

    2. Agree about the belt. If she was determined to wear one, it should have been white, like the one on the model. The black belt cuts the flow of the design.

    3. also fully agree

Lovely summer dress the black belt and buttons gives it something extra. Great look on Kate.

  3. The cool white dress is fine for a tennis afternoon. She is clinging to her school-age hair and it's not appealing.

School age hair? What does that even mean? It's long and gorgeous. Women do have long hair if you haven't noticed.

    2. I find her hair very appealing. It looks great - and well cared-for - very flattering. Your opinion appears to be in the minority.

She has naturally gorgeous, thick hair and it is healthy and well-maintained. What's with this bizarre attitude that women must chop all their hair off once they reach 30?

    4. Stop with the nasty tone, Anonymous 2:08. If you disagree, you disagree. "Women do have long hair if you hadn't noticed...". What a snide and personal attack remark. Yes, I have noticed. That is my point. This is Catherine's school girl hair. She has worn it this way since she was a child. I find it heavy, clumsy and unappealing on her at this point in her life. It drags her down, keeps her stuck in her past, and detracts from her appearance.

Yes, Pine. Her hair may be beautiful.
But I think long loose hair is not always suitable for the occasion. Long hair sometimes gets in the way of a hug with kids and old people, doesn’t it ?
Sophie is very careful about that.

      How old is she?
Can I say …sometimes her hair seems annoying, but really gorgeous.

    7. Yes, Annonymous 6:07, her hair does get in the way as you describe. Thank you for additional good point. Sometimes it almost seems like a shield or a prop. And yes, it's healthy--she is a healthy and wealthy woman with healthy hair, which is not exactly a stunning accomplishmnet. I stand by my opinion. It's same length she wore as a schoolgirl and it's distracting and silly.

    8. School girl or not I really like her hair long and hated the "Kob". I think it suits her. Hair always has to enhance personality and not age dependent. Because if it was then we should ask queen Maxima and Rania, princess Sofia and duchess Meghan either to chop their locks 🤣

    9. Szilvia, I disagree that hair is not age dependent, there are very few exceptions , but generally women with some sort of fashion sense adapt their style as they mature, for example, it would be odd to wear pigtails, or a mane below the hips ( like many teenagers do) when you are an adult. I don't think that Kate is too old to wear long hair, but I do think that she needs a good trim and texturizing, because she is starting to look like she has an enormous head on top of her delicate frame ( which is not the case of the other women you mentioned) . To be clear, my comment is totally subjective and fashion related, and in no way a criticism of the Duchess.

Well Pine, complaining about ones nasty tone while using rude and nasty words yourself. "silly" "clumsy" "unappealing" "distracting" are not exactely what one would use to describe somebody positively or at least neutral.

Princess Sofia of Sweden and Queen Letizia do change their hairstyle very often, which is fine with me. Duchess Catherine has changed over the year now and than. This Charlie's Angels Style is quite good on the Duchess. Her hair looks exceptionally good when it is straightened, but today it is interesting as well.

    12. @Cherry Blossom it really is a matter of taste. I really like this voluminous 'another head on top' style and for example pss Charlene's boyish hair is not really becoming for me. I wrote hair is not age dependent because I think when an elder or mature women has her hair chopped it is the sign of inner maturity, and sometimes more practical among young mothers. But I really like grannys with long ponytail 'cause it makes them bohemian hippy-like. Eg my mother is 55 and she still has long red curly hair. This is the reason I think hair is not age dependant 🙂

I am fine with the comment, that DoC has a boring hairstyle. She looked better with shorter bouncy hair, when she was pregnant with her last child or shortly after, the day she wore that lavender day time dress. Very grown up looking, but in a positive way. She should cut some layers into her hair at least.

  5. Lovely summer dress. I read elsewhere that it was inspired by a 1940’s design. Think she could probably get away with wearing her hair shorter but it’s so well looked after that I don’t see it as a problem.

    1. Même avis pour les cheveux ,le problème est qu’elle les remet sans cesse en place derrière les oreilles, les lunettes en guise de serre-tête ne peut pas être porté face à la reine .

    1. Lizzie, I saw some pictures in british newspapers and to mee the belt also looked green. I wonder if it is the famous "british racing green"? Or was it "english racing green"...?
      Anyway she looks gorgeous!

She looks lovely, summer perfect. The dress is cute, the belt and the handbag are nice and the shades are cool, classy and a little sassy. I think she nailed it.

  8. The dress has a nice vintage vibe, but it looks better with the original belt in my opinion. The black bow belt mimics Kate's Wimbledon bow, and I find it distracting, almost cutsey-like. The Wimbledon bow should probably have stood on its own.

To me, there's nothing overly remarkable or outstanding about this dress.
It is simple, clean, functional and quite suitable to the weather and the event.
These are probably the reasons why I like Kate in it.

Dress is very typical Kate-style, not very special. I would prefer it without the belt.

  14. Does anyone know why she has a ribbon on her left collar? Does it stands for something?

  15. Simple, crisp and summery dress - it looks nice and in keeping with the event. I don't have a problem with belt - I like the contrast with the white and I think the bow adds interest.

As for her hair, I prefer it a bit shorter and less spaniel ears but that's my personal preference.
