The ladies all look wonderful. I especially like Marie´s and Tatiana´s dresses.
The young princess all have too tight and too short trousers unfortunately, especially Nikolai. And Henrik needs a jacket two sizes up. If Isabella´s dress had been shorter and with short sleeves, it had been nicer. Josephine and Athena look lovely.
Nice to see the whole extended family coming together.

These trousers are neither to tight nor to short - they are just fashion (well, maybe only in Europe) Most important is the gap between the edge of the shoe and the hem of the trousers. There a bright sock or even better, a glimpse of a naked ankle should be clearly visible. It's a look most suitable for tall, slim men under 25.

Agree. All the boys looks very handsome with their trousers.

    3. As Anonymous 9:55 mentioned, this is the fashion in Europe. I often see this in Belgium as well, and experienced it first hand with our son too. And the latest seems to be unmatched socks!

I know this is trendy right now but that doesn´t make it any better to me. They all look like they have outgrown their stuff. It´s the typical highwater-look, and it also makes their feet look almost comically large.
This trend of tight and short suit trousers won´t age well. When the boys look back at these photos in 10-15 years time they will likely cringe.
Anyway, they all look smart in their smokings. Not criticizing the style, just the fit.

For what its worth, I think the boys look fine. In fact more than fine. Their style is current and trendy and these boys wear it well and that's what's important to them, and to their peers at this moment. Men rarely look back in 15 to 20 years and cringe, or think 'Wow, I looked great'. If they even look back at all.

Marie and Mary look very good as well and Marie rightly shines in the spotlight today.

  4. Ridiculous. But I must say that Marie looks fantastic, as does the Queen. Certainly she loves her son, and that is reason for celebration.

Family togetherness, how nice to see, not so much protocol just love and happyness. The best wishes for an important Birthday Prince Joachim. The Royal ladies look wonderful.Great dresses I love the best Tatianas, Marie's and Mary's. The Queen looks lovely in this dress, so do both Alexandra's. The first Dinner for the children. they look their best too.

Joachim is the Prince Philip of his generation when it comes to clothes. Marie, Marie both look lovely as do the Alexandras and Tatiana. Queen Margrethe looks like Queen Margrethe.

  9. Wow, Marie is outstanding here! She looks gorgeous, wonderful. The dress, the colour, her hair... One of her best looks ever!
I also like Mary here, sleek and elegant and not overshadowing Marie.
The Queen's dress is nice too; lots of royalty seem to get it wrong with flower dresses but she nails this one! I really like it!
Tatiana is good too, beautiful fabric and she can have the colour. And sorry, but I do not like Alexandra here. Both the dress and the scarf do nothing for her and it looks ill-fitting too.
The children look cute, nice to see them too. They're growing up so fast!

Princess Marie looked absolutely stunning in her blue dress to night!
I was no fan of the ball dress with tulle she wore for the birthday concert!
Athena and Josephine looked sweet and proud to be invited to their first gala dinner together with the adults!
It seems as all the men in the Danish Royal family have a continuous/recurring problem with the fit of their jackets and pants! ;-)

  14. Love what Marie and the Queen are wearing. I find Mary's a bit much with the train. Isabella is looking very grown up. The young princes are right on trend with their skinny shorter trousers - not my favourite for black tie, I prefer the more classic look but they look fine. Christian and Fredrik have gone for matching the wonkiness of their bowties! Anyway a lovely family occasion.

Mary's dress is the most stylish imo, but everybody looks nice.

Marie is so beautiful, lovable and dedicated, but her fate is that she must not overshadow Mary, the queen to be, in no ways, that's why we do not see her very often. A royal expert has lately stated, that it is a gift to Mary, that Marie moves a year to Paris! Strange, in other royal houses it is no problem! England:Kate and Maghan …… Sweden: Victoria, Sofia and Madeleine!
Denmark is a small country, but big enough for two amazing Princesses as Mary <3 and Marie <3, IMO!!

  19. I agree Marie is very committed and gives one hundred percent it is sad that
we don,t see more of her . also I find it very strange that there seems to be no obvious friendship between her and Mary. I rather suspect Mary rules the
    roost in that family ,
I hope it will be many years before she becomes
    Queen Mary.
