  1. I just cannot with that hat on Meghan. It looks like my nursing cap back in the stone age. Otherwise everyone looks great! I love that Catherine Walker red coat!!

    1. LOL Diane Brown. I had a nursing hat like that too - it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw Meghan.

  4. They all look great, especially Catherine in this shade of red and Camilla in that shade of blue!

  5. Camilla knocked it out of the park!! And Meghan’s outfit is very good too.
    Kate, boring...

  6. Lots of outfits to comment on!

The Queen looks lovely and I also like Camilla's outfit. I love the rich shade of purple and the frothing and velvety sheen.

I like Meghan's dress and would like the coat if the dress hem didn't hang below. I'm not keen on the hat - it looks a bit like she's plunked a bowl on her head.

Catherine's outfit - love the fierce shade of red on her and her hair is amazing styled like this. I really want to love this outfit without reservation but a tiny voice is whispering Virgin Atlantic flight attendant...

  7. Love Meghan's dress, coat, and the dark green shoes, but why that hat?? I truly dislike it, and I love hats myself, it reminds me of the old starchy caps nurses used to wear, or something a religious leader would wear, IMO it ruins the whole outfit. On the other hand, I like Catherine's hat, and despise the coat, all those buttons shining like chocolate coins, a no for me. Camilla's outfits are starting to look more and more like The Queen, but more elaborate and less elegant.

    1. Megan needs to take lessons from Crown Princess Mary of Denmark on how to wear a pillbox hat: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3567647/Princess-Mary-attends-King-Carl-XVI-Gustaf-s-70th-birthday-celebrations-Sweden.html

  8. I like everyone here.
The Queen classic and elegant as always. Purple looks good on her. She is so strong to do all those engagements at her age!!
Camilla is nice too, but not so fond of the hat. The fabric of her coat/ dress looks heavy and a bit bulky.
Meghan looks still shiny and glowing, love her hair and hat. Pity we can't see more of the dress; nicely combined with the shoes!
Kate is elegant en sophisticated as always, nice hair and hat, however, a bit predictable.

He is retured since some time ago, it was said in public.

    2. I know he is retired, but he does join engagements sometimes. The last family engagement he was absent as well. That's why I was wondering it might be his health or condition. But thanks for your reaction!

    3. Rosalyn son âge suffit à expliquer son retrait de la vie publique ; la Reine est incroyable de continuer à travailler ainsi mais elle a quand même 5 ans de moins que son mari et, à cet âge, ça compte.

  10. The DoC's coat fits her wonderfully, especially considering that she had a third child since she wore it last.

I love the DoS's whole outfit. White really suits her. The mix of print and texture is interesting. Love the deep green accents. Love the pillbox hat. My only quibble is that the dress is slightly longer than the coat but I think she still carries it well. I've see Queen Letizia often wears coats a little shorter than the hem of her dress too. I think it's becoming more accepted. Or perhaps the DoS intends to pair the dress with longer coats in the future an wanted to save on bringing up the hem?

  11. I agree with some of you, Camilla is the winner here, beautiful color, very regal, I'm not a fan of her hat but i think it goes well with her outfit and hairstyle.

I don't really understand Meghan: she wore the heavy embroided Erdem in the morning and this relatively plain VB dress to the church 🤔 Katherine looks great. Amd Camilla either!

I watched the service today and would like to genuinely ask a question to those of you "across the pond" in England. As the royal family members were leaving and greeting people in line, I noticed Camilla behind Charles and Catherine behind William, but Meghan greeting people in front of Harry. Is this a big deal to you or not? What is the proper etiquette for royals and their wives? I thought maybe since Harry is so far down the line for the throne, it doesn't matter. But then I remember all the times I have seen Edward and Sophie, with Sophie behind him or waiting for him to greet others first. So not trying to start an argument here, just a curious American wondering what you all think.

  16. Kate's coat is too fussy for me. I will always prefer simplicity over so much detail. As always, it is well fitted. Meghan's coat and dress are quite nice, but as others have stated, the hat is not. I am glad to see she added a colored shoe and bag. She does have a good eye for that.

I really dislike Camilla's hat. The feathers are too much. I don't know about her outfit. I am not much of a fan of her style, which may be my problem. The closures on the jacket feel old-fashioned to me. The Queen is perfect, as always.

  18. Something positive for everyone here, I think. Love the rich purple for the Queen and Camilla. I love Catherine in red but I am not a fan of this coat-- didn't like it last time either. Like Meghan's coat and dress and love her shoes. Didn't like the hat anyway and like it less now that I've seen it from other angles. Also, is that the ever elegant Princess Alexandra, wearing a beautiful blue coat and hat in picture 12? My overall winner--the Queen 😀

    1. Agree again with you, they all look rather good here. British hat culture must feel really difficult to Meghan, but she will learn it with time. That white hat really reminds old nurse´s caps.

My winner is Camilla, I think she looks stunning here. That purple is so becoming color to her.

Hellen, I'm not submitting this for posting, it's just a comment. Anything negative about Meghan Markle is not allowed or they'll shut the blogs/forums/threads down. No free speech re Meghan. Time will tell how much of an actual duchess she becomes. If the BRF love her - well, that's great. And... her white outfit with NURSE's hat is awful; but it meets her need to stand out from everyone else at any cost. Very sad that it's come to this. I've enjoyed your blog, I came back for one last look; but I'm done with royalty. Thanks and good-bye, I'm definitely done.

    1. Good bye, and I am sure you will find a blog better suited for your comments. One word of advice if I may. Don't take this so seriously, after all you don't know these people, it's always better for your well being to spend your energy on family and friends.

    3. Well Anon 9:37, that was a bit harsh in my opinion. It's fine to be honest, it's good to have an opinion even though it's a different one, but much more when you share it in a nice and kind way! And yes, good-bye then...

    4. Anon 9:37, your comment is inaccurate and unfair to the excellent and thoughtful posters here. Also to our excellent moderator, Hellen. The first comment of this thread is a fashion criticism of Meghan's hat. And many subsequent posters agreed. The difference is that it was directed at fashion and clothing, not her character as a person. Your comment about whether Meghan will make a good duchess reveals an implicit criticism of her character, not her fashion. I am glad that you are leaving this blog. It is a good decision for everyone.

    5. Wow Pine, very well said. Totally agree with you!!

    6. Anonymous 9:37, I don't know if you will read this or not, but I want to say that I think it is a pity if you leave this blog. I think it should be possible to have different opinions. And as for comments only about fashion and not only about fashion: it is obviously allowed to say what a humanitarian Meghan is (if one thinks so) which is also a non-fashion comment, but at the same time it is not allowed to say that her behaviour is not appropriate or not regal. So you are right, Anonymous, that there is not much free speech.

Meghans hat looks ridiculous, the otherwise beautiful dress/coat combination looks unkempt because of the coat being longer than the dress. Two extremely expensive new outfits in one day in times when most British worry about the future is tactless. Apart from clothes having to look good, neat and appropriate they will always transport an attitude and this is not a good one.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think all the royal ladies look beautiful here. I love Meghans outfit especially. I believe the rule of the coat being longer than the dress went out years ago. I personally don't care for the hat but it looks cute on her. Catherine looks beautiful and put together as always. And more importantly, everyone looks relaxed and happy.
