  1. Sorry, no. No to almost everyone in this photo. If I didn´t know better, I´d think that this a group of theatre actors in their respective costumes. And Mary in her janitor´s frock is one of the worst.
If you want to be a leader you should look professional so people take you seriously. I don´t mind when people have fun with their private clothing, but as soon as you represent someone or something other than yourself, there´s no room for personal expression.
Also, I don´t know how you inspire future leaders, male or female, by having a breakfast arrangement. Wouldn´t you either share useful experience or lead by example (simply inspire by being successful)??

    1. I for one am often invited to Business breakfasts. I meet a lot of interisting people there and get ideas for projects.

    2. Agree Vanessa. A big NO for most of them, including Crown Princess.

  2. How nice to see Marry on a solo trip. She looks lovely as always. Nice combination.

  3. Yikes. Well, bless her heart, I think someone "in the know" must have told Mary that it would be appreciated if she would wear an unattractive outfit to this event in order to blend in with [nearly] everyone else. It can't have been easy for her, but she did it.

  4. What I love the most here, is Mary's hair. Very nice styled!
Do not like the outfit, the jacket looks so big for her slim frame. And combined with the bag and necklace, there is quite a lot going on. It looks a bit... messy to me. Sorry.

  5. In my opinion Princess Mary's coat does not evoke a janitor's uniform. Besides that point, is there something wrong with custodial workers? All work is dignified work.

Additionally, food is a great way to bring people together to facilitate discussion. Many conferences and functions serve breakfast...

On the topic of fashion I think Princess Mary looks professional. The tartan print is lovely and the material looks luxurious.

    1. This post is a little late but I had to comment on Anna's post. I appreciate how you responded to those who implied there is something wrong with a janitor's clothes. My brother was a janitor and he was a dignified JANITOR! Mary looked fine to me also Anna. I noticed no one mentioned that Mary used to live in Texas (Houston). I probably would guess she felt comfy in what she was wearing. People need to stop and think before they type something that might offend a certain group of people!

  6. Mary is adorable, and I love the jacket. She seems at ease with Americans. She lived in Texas as a child. May be she fills at home. Always exciting to see what Mary
    S up to.

    1. Well her husband have his own work and is not seen much in royal fashion blogs that's true, but he works more than his wife in and out of the palace.

  8. Yes indeed a breakfast meeting. It looks as if Mary didn't realize the US time change and only had time to tie back her hair, throw on some yoga outfit and hubby's bathrobe. And that cross body handbag looks like she's walking through the airport.

  9. This has to be the worst outfit I've seen on Mary.

  10. This is a rare miss for Mary. Immediate reaction was that the coat was too big, too loose and very much like a dressing gown. The addition of the cross body bag just makes it so much worse. Why someone normally so elegant would turn out like this is a mystery. At least it gives us mere mortals hope when even the best get it wrong occasionally.
