    1. Regalia, I know that some ladies here on this blog don't like the "Little house in the prairie"-look. I for one like it very much, especially on such a pretty woman! Sofia looks wonderful!

  2. I don’t like these prairie dresses ( or whatever they’re called ) on anyone, so this is a miss for me. The neckline looks so constricting. I also think that Sofia’s wispy hairstyle is competing with her earrings.

  4. From the pics of the model, it looks like this dress probably moves beautifully -- has a "floaty" quality to the skirt. However, I think a beautiful pastel color would do so much more for the dress and the wearer than this drab, rather frumpy print.

  7. I am confused by this current style that I also see Victoria wearing a lot. Covered in a maxi dress with a very tight or high collar, long sleeves, possibly a hem that is also very long. What is going on? if this is a new trend, then why? I can understand a dress like this among other dress styles, but for example Victoria has taken to using this style time and again. It baffles me. And now I see this style dressed and shirts in the shops in Finland already as well. So do I just have to get used to it? The style reminds me of "The little house on the prairie" TV series, all that is missing are the head bonnets. I just do not understand what is going on style-wise. Can someone in the know tell me where this trend stems from?Again, a dress like this can surely appear in the rotation, but what about more stylish clothes, appealing lines, good cutting…? Have people seen this style on Meghan or Kate for example? I somehow hope not. Can´t some royal women wear this style on their holidays, not on official occasions?

    1. This is just fashion recycling itself. Look up the peasant look from the 1970s (also the decade when Little House on the Prairie began airing). People forget styles so designers, who study more fashion history, can pick and choose from mostly forgotten looks and try to make them look "new." If a look becomes popular enough, it does move into more official events.

    2. Definitely a fashion trend, but this one doesn´t seem to come (back) naturally but is instead kind of forced. In most instances, trends tend to become very popular as soon as some celebrities have promoted them, but this floral-floaty-maxidress trend continuously baffles people (myself included). I think people aren´t ready for this. These dresses just don´t go with the current fashion (if I had to describe what´s typical for this decade, I´d say skinny trousers, tight cuts, minimalist colour use, uneven or high-low skirt/dress hems, and lots of knitted stuff including large loop scarfs). It´s quite the leap from all that to those prairie dresses. And also, I think prairie dresses just don´t work well for most everyday occasions. I certainly won´t get hooked on that trend.

  9. Sofia's dress is okay, seems to suit her, the black collar is a nice touch. However... her hair looks uncombed, poorly styled, and quite messy.

  10. The dress looks a bit loose but she has pull it off well. Not one of her best looks but it looks really nice

    1. ...Von wem kopieren??

And - sorry - a big No for that dress! Can't stand the flower dresses and blouses and bows at the Swedish and Norwegian Royal Houses anymore, ha ha...
