Queen Maxima attended NLGroeit event in Halfweg

Queen Máxima attended the third 'Jaarevent engroeit' event at Sugar City which is a former sugar factory in Halfweg. NLGroeit is a platform which supports small and medium sized enterprises to realize their growth targets. At that annual meeting, Erasmus Entrepreneurship Center announced the list of 250 fastest-growing Dutch companies. At the event, the Queen presented 'De Gouden Groeier' award to Jitse Groen who is the CEO and founder of Takeaway.com and Thuisbezorgd. That award is a recognition for the company that created maximum business with maximum growth.

  1. This is a very good outfit for Maxima, good colors for her and fits well even though it’s Natan. I didn’t realize at first that it is actually “patchwork,” although not the usual patchwork. She may wear coats in cape fashion to void the delay and awkwardness of removing a coat.
I tend to ignore the hair because it doesn’t seem to make any difference to the people she interacts with - she gives so much joy and seems genuinely interested in the projects she visits.

    1. The people she interacts with wouldn't dare to let it show if it affected them, and I think it is an insult to those people that her hair is always so messy. That said, it's got nothing to do with her personality, which seems genuinely charming.

  2. The trousers have a bad cut and material. And it looks somehow strange to go sleeveless at this time of the year while everbody else wears jackets. I also don't understand this habitude of always wearing your coat like a cape. It starts to annoy me.
And for the hair? No words. Beyond weird. I cannot believe there is nobody around her to tell her. It is getting more and more strange. I cannot imgaine her hairdresser would let her walk out of the door like this. It is quite honestly beyond my imagination.

    2. Beth, I so agree with you (as I often do!).
This is not a good look. The top isn´t bad as such, but it really needs sleeves, at least small cap sleeves. As is, it looks unfinished, like the sleeves haven´t been attached yet, and as a result, she looks rather naked, especially this time of the year.
Also, the top may well have colours in the pattern that match the trousers, but the overall effect is gray-ish when seen from afar making the individual colours melt together. And combining that with brown is not flattering. It´s just dull.
I don´t mind the trousers as much as others do - I actually like the cut and colour - but I agree that they seem to be of poor material.
The hair - no comment. It really is bordering on offensive.
I like her somewhat toned-down make-up though. (Often, she wears way too much.)

  5. This wide and wrinkled trousers are very unflattering on her.
And about her daily messy hair, I have no doubt she is her own hairdresser.

  7. >>>I have no doubt she is her own hairdresser.<<< Most women are their own hairdressers on normal days. No excuse, to leave the house with unwashed and unkempt hair. First of all she needs to cut these split ends, it's easy. And if she somehow does not manage to style her hair by herself, she should have someone come in for a short make over in the morning. It can't be a question of money, can it?

P.S. Apart from that, I still believe Maxima is a charming person, has a great personality and does a fantastic job. People obviously love her. But appearance is part of the job, I just don't get it, why she shows that much disregard to this question. It is distracting and takes the attention away from the actual topic of a meeting.

    2. I find it odd because (whether we as onlookers like her outfits or not) she is clearly interested in fashion and her appearance so her hair strikes a discordant note. She may have slipped into that zone that so many of us can do, where we stay with the same hairstyle long after we should, where we just can't see what everyone else can.
