    3. I had a young friend working as a flight attendant for British Airways until about one year ago, and the flight crews were always advised to stay in their rooms in Cape Town because there was trouble. I thought they were just on holiday fleeing the cold winter in Sweden, that's all.

    4. "Staying in your room on Cape Town"??? Absolutely absurd!!!
Cape Town one of the top tourist destinations in the world...Welcome to Cape Town CP & S and enjoy ur stay

    5. Have you turn crazy and lost your mi over the holiday or had too much to drink. Rubbish comment about Cape Town. You and the BA attendant don't know what you, are talking about. The Princess and Prince have excellent taste in choosing Cape Town one of the of the beast, popular, most beautiful and number ONE tourist destination in the world. You are just as save in Cape Town as you are with the goody-goody Crown Princess walking in Stockholm. What can happen with you in Stockholm can happen with you in Cape Town. 1. Agree.people counted the number of assigments and they are in the bottom. CP dud much better than in 2015, he had 110 assigments. But Sofia had only 59. And thats all counting with banquets, the kings birthday... PP is not royal work, specially because she quit in 2014. Madeleine works for CHilhoud foundation but the court says is not royal work. I feel bad for her. The resto of the family hás meeting for private charities and its on the calender. Madeleine works for the foundation for sooo many years now Abd never gets credit. Good for her :)

      Delete
    2. I Apologize, CP only work 70 assigments wich is not much compared to 2015. Source theroyalsandil.com

    3. Lassie; I think Sweden is far too small coutry to give full time work also to these Carl Philip, Sofia, Madeline, Cris and kings sisters. If I have understood it right, CP, S and Madeline get apanage money only from official work done, nothing is coming to them automatically. Only king, queen, Victoria and Daniel get apanage money automatically. Of course they also work most. Carl Philip has quite a fortune himself, he has gotten some big inheritances during years. He was actually most highly paid royal 2015 with fortune income 160 milion $. He must be doing also something else than just being royal, he has his estate things, is doing design work etc. Actually I think he and Sofia get quite little money from tax payers, but of course some tax money has gone to their weddings (about 300 000 $ both Carl Philip and Madeline, Victoria´s weddings got about 1 milion $ tax money) and chistening. Money got mostly to proadcasting these festivity on TV. King paid most of these festivities from his own pocket.

      Raquel:
      1. Sofia did not quit her work with PP, she only quit her position as general secretary, she is now honor chairman (am not sure is that correct word) and does work to PP.

      2. Sofia has been of course at mother´s leave because Alexander is just baby. That is priviledge to every mother (and also father) here in Scandinavia. So has been also Victoria and Madeline mostly this year. But as we have seen before, it is something what these royal moms should not have right to have after common oppinion on this blog. They should go straight to factor line and whole time video monitoring to satisfy people. Nothing less is acceptable.

    4. Blondiini,

1- nobody knows how much each royal gets from apanage because the king is not obligated to inform the state. However if thats true how does Madeleine hás vacations on the french Riviera and buys expensive designer clothes soo much?

2- victoria also had a baby and got maternity leave right? She worked 77 days in 2016, Sofia 59 and Madeleine 24. Victoria also has 2 children, not one. Normal woman work until the day the baby is born. Royal princesses start maternity leave weeks before having a baby. Clearly they have it easy.

3 - having maternity leave is a right, nobody said otherwise, but Sofia and Madeleine barely work anyway. Working 59 and 24 ( even though she lives in a different country) is barely working. A year hás 365 days. In 2015 the numbers were low as well.

4- CP only worked 70 days in 2016, was he with the baby? Did he had morning sickness? Seems that Lassie was a certain reason on her side.

      Delete
    5. Also the royal court informed in 2014 that Sofia quit PP because she would received the title HRH. If you accept the title you have yo work for the country as your only job, because you received apanage.
The king in 2014 said she would no longer work with PP, and she would work for the kings office.

Madeleine works with a chilhoud foundation since many Yeats, but the royal court told the média Yeats ago that private charities are not parte of royal work and the calender. Chris had to refuse the HRH title to continue working outsidr of the royal family. Daniel quit his company too. Going to fubdraiser dinners irganized by the staff that still works there is not working.

And when it comes to the numbers of days of work, fill free to check the royal calender in the oficial website.

    6. Well said Blondiini ~ not sure why so many are obsessed with how much work some do? Usually people who do not even live or pay taxes in these countries LOL

    7. Its not an obssesion, its facts. Plus it was to answer another persona comment. Facts are meontioned because they are revelant to the comment.
They people dont like the facts and/or dont have arguments, all the suddently its obssesion, jeously etc.it was a mere response to Lassie comment about "big provileges and small duties". Obviously its relevant.

      Delete
    8. Obsessed is the correct word. They are royals and part of the fun is observing how their lives differ from ours. We know they don't work the way we do. Besides, I'm sure there's plenty of family money to keep them above the poverty line.

      Delete
    9. LOL of course. No argument about the numbers. Besides the statistics are all over social media. I didnt count the assigments myself, others did and publish. Só how AM i the obsessed one about facts? I just end up reading about it like everyone else. I did search for the info. The info was online in blogs for example.
One things its true they sure have money. ;)

    10. No one mentioned you Raquel ~ it was a generalization. This topic is discussed all the time on all blogs and it is just boring.

      Delete
    11. If thats true... I would think its discussed so much for a reason.

      Delete
    12. Raguel: "I would think its discussed so much for a reason."

Actually I think it just for opposite. People think these people are penniless without showeling tax payers money to their pockets. In fact they have big fortunes of their own just like I have told about Carl Philip and Madeline. They can well buy those design clothes and have vacations with their own money.

Diana is right, we have had here this same discussion with all the royal ladies with babys. Worst it went with Catherine. It was top mean all the time. I keep it myself very two faced. I cannot understand why these royals should not have their parental leaves as any other people can. Nobody expects the ordinary women go back to work the week they got babies but to royals it seems to be so.

      Delete
    13. Diane, I think all the discussion about how much a special royal person works or not works has a deeper reason. It is an indicator for an ongoing change. People nowadays understand that they are taxpayers - and so they ask one little question: why? Why should we support her or him? Why should he or she receive our money? The world is finally getting more and more democratic. Royal functions have to proof they make sense.

      Delete
    14. Thanks coralie! Its deeper than that. And the hole family, like many, barely works with or without kids.

      Delete
    15. I understand that Coralie but it is debated all the time on many blogs. Some blogs have rules about NOT talking about it because it can easily slide into a very heated political debate regarding the monarchy and the republican movement of they should all go. Times change. However, they are all wealthy for the most part as Blondiini stated above. The cost is minimal to the taxpayer. They pay for their own POs in some countries. They pay taxes in some countries. They are allowed to function in ceremonial roles and really have few powers. As the modern age as progressed the powers that be know that these families bring in monies to the country. The amount they gain is far more than what they pay. The Swedish and Danish families are very strict with the money and they have had cutbacks almost yearly. The Cambridges are supported by Charlea and let us not forget that William is VERY RICH from Diana's fortune.

What is funny to me is that so many follow them and ooo and ahhh and then turn around and complain aboit how much they work. If they took REAL jobs ppl would complain that they are not supporting the current Queen or King. If they only do royal work then ppl complain that they do nothing. It is a Catch 22.

The SRF AND DRF are small. Not enough for all. The BRF is big but have cut way back due to complaints about not doing enough and being paid. Very few are fulltime royals.

Finally, again as Blondiini said ALL women are allowed this maternity time no matter who they are in this life.

      Just my two cents.

      Delete
    16. Diane: I agree totally. When we had this comversation about Catherine (Charlotte was 2 months olk) there were nicks teling us that Catherine should not buy any clothes or have holiday because tax money, she should keep the kids in about daily in magazine pictures, she should have started already full time work etc. Nobody remembered that William has fortune worth 40 milions and can pay well enough his wife´s bills.

    17. Exactly correct Blondiini! Much ado about nothing if you ask me LOL

  13. Raquel:
Just some answers to that post with numbers:

1.Madeline´s husband is millionaire and Madeline has very big own incomes as well after well done investments: “Princess Madeleine of Sweden has taken the No. 1 spot on People With Money’s top 10 highest-paid princesses for 2017 with an estimated $82 million in combined earnings. The Swedish princess has an estimated net worth of $245 million.” Read this interesting article about her http://en.mediamass.net/people/princess-madeleine-of-sweden/highest-paid.html. I think she and Chris do not need any apanage to get on well.

2.In Sweden (and Finland) maternity leave begins about one month before expected birth day. No normal woman works here until the baby is born. Have not been doing that for many decades really. Maternity leave is about one year. Father´s got in Sweden about 13 weeks paternity leave, in Finland 9 weeks. After maternity leave here in Finland mother or father can take care of the children away of her/his work until the youngest is 3 years old. I suspect that is about same in Sweden.

3.If they are not paid from tax money, why should they really have a responsibility to work full time? If you had enough money would you go to work? Also 2015 Sofia get to be part of royal family only after summer. Madeline got her second child the same time and Leonore was still very young. Again we do not know what these people are doing during those days they are not doing royal work. They may have just their own work.

4.Fathers in Sweden have about three months paternity leave.

    1. You do not work only because of money. Many people work not because they need to but because they have the profession and like to work.
You do not study for years to just finish your working years when you have enough money to live on.

      Delete
    2. Kristina; that is true, but many people would choose differently what to do or study if they do not have force to do what they are just doing. Madeline has told many times that she does not want to be at the center of notice with strange people and be photographed. Maybe she does not want her every movement be seen if she can avoid it with her own money and living abroad.

    5. Blondiini, you posted a link re Madeleine's "wealth" It says - "She owes her fortune to smart stock investments, substantial property holdings, lucrative endorsement deals with CoverGirl cosmetics. She also owns several restaurants (the “Fat Princess Madeleine of Sweden Burger” chain) in Stockholm, a Football Team (the “Drottningholm Angels”), has launched her own brand of Vodka (Pure Wonderprincess Madeleine of Sweden - Sweden), and is tackling the juniors market with a top-selling perfume (With Love from Madeleine) and a fashion line called “Princess Madeleine of Sweden Seduction”. We hear a lot about fake news and how easily people fall for it. Well, this is FAKE news. We know Madeleine has zero endorsement deals with CoverGirl cosmetics, does not own a burger restaurant chain, never launched a brand of vodka and these other claims are absolutely fake too.
Please be more alert and analytical and don't fall for these false stories and pass them on. You are passing on phony information that naive people will believe.

    6. Thanks coralie! I understand that being a royal and the center of attention it's not for everyone but at the same time they have a choice :)

  14. Raquel to other posts: Being princess does not mean you get apanage, it is just a tittle. Also kings sisters are princesses and get apanage 0. These people have fortune of their own, always had it. Every cent they spend does not come from taxpayers.

About those weddings etc. I wrote before, I think Swedish got very much worth money when publicity of them were so big. Millions of people saw it from TV or video, many more milions saw pictures of it.

Swedish royals can work outside but they cannot sit at lead of company. That is why Sofia left her position as general secretary.

I have no doubt your info of working days was correct, I just do not get why they should work full time especially when they are in mother´s leave and if they have enough money to survile without apanage money.

This has nothing to do with fashion, just history, but when the first Bernadotte king was asked to throne (Charles XIV 1818 = Jean Bernadotte) he paid all the national debts of Sweden what were not any minor that time. That gives us a little different way to think about apanage of todays Swedish royal house.

Last few years there has been extra money need for weddings and christenings, I tried to find amouth of 2008 apanage money (last year with "normal" money need) but did not find it quicly. That is the money tax payers normally pay. Of course that is not the money royal family themselves get, from that money are paid state visits, staff, maintenance, royal stables etc.

    1. Blondiini, thank you for all the information! But I still think it is not only about money. It is also about support (a psychological or social phenomen or how ever one may call it). If royal persons want to be accepted by the people as a representative of their country they must do something to reward it.

Don't forget about Carl Philip, he has his own business called Bernadette & Kyleberg, with his business partner and they make high end wine glasses. Last year they were ranked some of the best glasses in the world by Forbes magazine.

      Delete
    3. Chelsea: I totally agree with you. I wish myself that Madeline would be more visible after the kids grow a bit. I think she shows really signs of geting adult now and may that for work more. After his weddings Carl Philip has been working more and looks out much more relaxed and happy with people than before what makes me keep her wife choice Sofia a very good one. I did mention CP´s design work before. Sofia is trying hard to be accepted and I haven´t seen her put a traw wrong after marriage.

    4. CP private business hás nothing to do with his royal work. If he can work full tine for the country he should abdicate this royal title on order to becone The designer he wants.

    5. Blondiini, you dont know how much each one of them receives. They have to received apanage. How can they have such luxury life?

Plus, The king when asked about why are the court asking for more money to the governent he said "The family growns"

The answer to the question "are CP, Sofia and Madeleine" received apanage.

Sofia recently bought a burmese sapphire earrings, very costly. The money needs to come from somewhere.

CP company isnt very lucrative! The media did The math based on their sales and they didnt do bad but nothing great. His college from The company Oscar, certainly does not have the lifestyle he hás. If both of them get money only trought the company, CP couldnt have such lifestyle, specially after spending money renoving their home etc. Sofia in the first year of marriage had at least too cars! One electric and another one blue (gas).she hás driving bought cars at the same time. One blog counted the money spend on clothes alone, the numbers were huge. She was seen with 87 news pieces of clothes!

Of course its not just her! The rest of the family hás the same lifestyle. Ok Madeleine may have a rich husband that can buy her clothes etc, but like coralie said its not just about money.even though her work should br in the calender if the private meeting of the resto of the family is also there, to be fair.

Plus victoria also had a baby! She worked more anyway. Só having a baby is no excuse.

    6. Raquel; please read what I wrote about money Carl Philip and Madeline have on their own. Year 2015 Carl Philip had fortune 160 milion $ and Madeline had 245 milion $. They have lots of money without any apanages. They money does come from very good investiments. That is how they can have their luxury. I even posted a link where is told what kind of investments Madeline has. They can buy their dresses and vacations without going to tax payers pockets. It is just your imagination that they can only spend what is given them as apanage.

      Delete
    7. Raquel; you either know how much they get if they get really any money at all. That "family grows" meant there was going to be these weddings, christenings etc. not that Carl Philip or Madeline were going to have bigger pocket moneys.

What are those Burmese sapphire earrings? I do not remember ever seeing her wear sapphires? She has been wearing beautiful emerald earrings lately though but they are actually Silvia´s. Also if she has a new earring pair how can you know that she bought them herself when they never tell who buys what, they may also be gift.

What is your issue with the Swedish Royal Family? It seems like every post about them on here you never have anything positive to say about them. So what is Sofia had 2 cars, one was from before she married CP, and she actually got rid of it and kept the electric car. And of course she had new clothes, it was her first year as a princess and she was going to need them. When she was engaged she mostly wore her old clothes, and you could tell because a lot of them looked out of place in contrast to Victoria and Madeleine, that's why they let her borrow a lot of items because she simply didn't have it. Every woman who enters into a royal family basically buys a new wardrobe. Look at Kate, her annual clothing budget for this year doubled in expenses. Sofia's clothes are not all that expensive. You're making it out to seem like that they don't deserve to live their life simply because they are royalty and that they have to answer to the likes of you who are always sneering at them when they step out with something new on. The Swedish rf, is definitely not the poorest royal family around they can afford all of the expenses. Like it or not, they live the life that they do, they can afford it, yes they all do have independent incomes and are publicly funded from the state. It's really not an issue that should concern you if you're not a Swedish citizen.

Why should it matters how many cars Sofia had? Honestly does that affect you in any kind of way. Yes, she purchased an electric car after she married CP, it's was not an expensive car at all, it was a blue small car. The car she had before marrying CP she got rid of. 16. OK, Madeline´s fortune maybe was at joke site what I did not notice, but other sources tell she had about 10 milion $ herself when she and Chris were married. Madeline got almost 2 milion $ just from her unckle Bertl´s estate and has had big stock portfolio years. Christopher O´Neil is also milionaire.

About Carl Philip, here is link to Daily Mail (Tatler) article of his fortune: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3384270/Zac-Goldsmith-Amanda-Hearst-Prince-Carl-Philip-Sweden-hailed-hottest-really-rich-people-world-ever.html To me Daily mail and Tatler sounded media reliable enough, but if they are not, he must have at least some milions more than Madeline has, he got two big extra inheritances (prince Bertil and Bertil Jonsen). I assume they had about similar stock portfolio with Madeline before that.

Swedish royals are really very wealthy family. Somewhere I picked amout 35 million $ for king Carl Gustaf. As comparison Queen Margaretha of Denmark has 2-5 million, Spanish royal house 4 milion, Harald of Norway 10 million $, Dutch 170 million, Queen Elizabeth 380 million.

Raquel; you have been throwing bits here yourself completely without any sources or real knollage. If Sofia did drive two different cars that does not mean she owns two different cars or even one, if she has pair of expensive earrings she does not need to have bought them (I am very interest in royal jewels, please put here link to those new expensive sapphire earrings!), being princess does not give you automatic apanage etc. You yourself should have also some care with your comments.

    1. LOL I have sources. Swedish and foreighn media wrote about the sapphire earrings because she show up for some charity thing in the Stockholm church. Go to "Expressen" I believe thats called, and all the royal blogs you will see it. You can click on the link to see how much they cost.
If you search photos taken right after the annoucement of her pregnancy, there's planty of photos of her leaving home with the car. Plus you can go to "Expressen" and other blogs as well. With the eletric car, "Expressen" publish the news about the electric car as well. If you went to their archives to can see the article with links and everything. Foreign media, tabloids, also publish the material. You can search. The website that did the math about the clothes bought and everything is called theroyalsandi. It's a quit respected blog. MEntioned by international media as well :) So I do have sources :)
All the money as to come from somewhere, she has no personal fortune and CP does not have fortune so big that he can afford a super luxurous lifestyle and paid for her lifestyle as well. The numbers you are talking about are not enough to support a luxury by itself all this years. If was true that they barely received any money, why wouldn't the king give that info? Knowing that, the people would be quit happy i imagine. Perhaps because he doesnt want people to know.

They always have great things to say about the Swedish royal familym They follow their lifestyle and you never see them trying to knit pick about how much their clothes cost. Really, like blondiini and Chelsea have said why do you care so much? Who cares if she had 2 cars when she got married the blue electric car was a MITSUBISHI for God sakes it's not like she's driving around Sweden in a Rolls Royce. @ Blondiini I think you made mistake about how much royalties worth unless it is in different currency not in US dollars.
Queen Margrethe of Denmark ... 40 millions $
    Beatrix Of Nederlands ... 200 millions $
Queen Elizabeth of England ... 510 millions $
    Queen Letizia ... 10 millions $
    Queen Sofia ... 50 millions $
    Queen of Sweden ... 10 millions $

  19. That big amouth Swedes are paying is by the way 1,82 $ per swede a year. http://www.nordstjernan.com/news/people/4572/

About taxes, Swedish Royals pay also taxes from their private incomes (both income tax and capital tax) just as anybody else. They do not pay tax straight from apanage, but big part of that money turn up to tax when they pay salaries, buy something etc.

Here is what they got as capital incomes 2015:
Expressen publishes salaries of swedish celebrities and well-known people in 2015.

Of the royal family members they publish the capital incomes, not salaries.
Carl XVI Gustaf, king 23 130 419 SEK
    Carl Philip, prince 8 583 714 SEK
    Madeleine, princess 2 365 891 SEK
    Silvia, queen 2 031 402 SEK
    Victoria, princess 2 238 488 SEK

    1. LOL € 899.805 ?? If they only live with that money, they couldn't have such luxuries. That money is very low. Paying french riviera (costing thousands a day), expensive clothes and jewelry, renovating a big house, honeymoon,... You only prove me right. He clearly doesn't have enough money. I though the numbers are bigger LOL

    2. This is my last post now, but the Swedish royals own themselves a big villa at French Riviera where they stay. They have owned it already some generations.

About Ebba Brahe earrings: Very modern and I like them. I had really not noticed them before because Sofia had her hair then down and earrings vere not that visible. I did find Expressen´s story and did read and listen it. Ebba Brahe is Swedish designer and I think Swedish royals are doing fine work when wearing Swedish design. Price of the earrings was 2 729 EUR what is of course a lot of money for a commoner but is nothing when compared to real fine (or old jewels they have in vaults) jewelry. I remember a week when Charlene had in two days earrings worth 4 million €. When I read and listened the Expressen story, there were no mention who bought them or did anybody bough them at all. Price was mentioned but it was not any big deal in that article.

  20. Truly, who would think after seeing their photo in Cape Town people would start to debate how many cars they have or how much Princess is spending on her clothes or with what money they pay for their vacations. And that is not only about Princess Sofia and her Prince but about every other Swedish royalty.
Blondiini, you must be tired to explain everything over and over again.

    1. That is exactly what I was thinking. One little picture of them on a stroll looking very happy in life and it has evolved into a discussion that has no end. It cannot be solved. It has been debated for years. And yes Blondiini you have gone above and beyond trying to explain (quite well too so brava) and some are still going on and on and on. You tried. Let them spin on LOL

    2. It seems to be one person on this blog that is starting all the drama. Almost every post about the Swedish royals she posts on she's talking trash about them.

    3. Why some people can't comprehend that royalties have enormous wealth. And I suppose they are not obliged to tell everything to the public.

    4. Anonymous i serously hope you are not talking about me. Specially with such lies. I comment on someone's comment, other people are the ones that attacked me!! Go check the comment before you speak!! I didnt started anything. Plus how can i always started drama if i new in this blog? LOL I only started commentibg recently like a week or so. LOL Maybe you are talking about yourself? This is why people remove their comment because as soon as they speak their mind they are attacked. Another Person said that she didnt comment in here because of the attacks of the "super royalist". If i talked trash my comment would be published. Speak for yourself. You should also see my comment ob other posts of this royal family to see how " positive " they are. If you talked about me check my comment first. It should be easy. I barely never comment in here. Happy birthday to the former king of spain. I hear its his birthday ;)

    5. Actually yes Raquel I am talking about you. Ever since you started posting on here a few weeks ago you have been stirring the proverbial pot! I myself barely comment on here either, but I had been watching you and the drama you start. It's only the Swedish royals you do this on, you'll give a backhanded compliment about them "Sofia looks nice but....." knowing full well it's going to start issues, like you say people don't have to respond but you know that when someone is constantly putting down a certain person or family eventually someone will say something.
Also are you the one who's also trying to promote your own blog on here by posting the link to it, I'm pretty sure that's you! That's just downright disrespectful to the admin. Just knock it off and let this blog get back to the peaceful way that it was before!

  21. Kristina, no one started discuting this by accident. It would be nice for you to knowlegde that it all started because a person named "Lassie" said something and I wrote that I agree. It wasn't me to started this!

And I should remember you that you join in ! The initial comments were about cape town, others joy in to talk about privilege and duties. The cars comments it's just a sequence of comments!

I don't know what are you talking about. No one comment about cars by commenting on the photo! I comment something different "Agree.people counted the number of assigments and they are in the bottom. .."
In fact the person Lassie, remove her comment because people like you that can take facts. The poor woman had to remove her comment!

"Comments that are moderated will be reviewed before posting. " All the comments here were moderated. Lassie didn't said anything bad neither did i. People are attacked because they speak their mind. VERY sad! The initial comment here about assignments NOT cars! That was a response to other people comments.

    "Lassie Jan 3, 2017, 2:38:00 PM
This comment has been removed by the author." VERY sad! :(

  22. I think there are several points mistaken from both sides here.
First of all, anyone has the right to initiate a discussion on royal apanages and whether those are well deserved or not. At the same time, anyone has the right to refuse to join that discussion and turn a blind eye on any real or supposed abuse of taxpayer's money. Both are valid attitudes and it seems obvious to me none should be "rewarded" with hostile and condescending remarks.
Secondly, we have a saying in our family: anything you read online proves nothing but you have internet access. Of course there are sources we commonly accept as reliable and if someone links a photo of someone coming out of a luxury shop with branded bags I guess we can agree on there was some shopping in there. The same with royal households' websites or serious media outlets, they are generally reliable.
As for private fortunes: there are less trustworthy sources than you would think. It's crystal clear it's their essential interest to keep as much under wraps as they can. From the typical beggar friends to conmen or savage republicanist there are thousand type of enemies who could benefit from exact infos. We have basic information, good enough to reason with in a general discussion but not to discuss or compare exact figures.
A few examples: Marie of Denmark comes from a wealthy upper-middle class family. Claire of Luxembourg too. Which one's family was/is richer? We won't be able to tell. Mary however comes from more humble surroundings and admittedly left several mortages, still unpaid when she married Fred, in AU. Mathilde too comes from a noble but poorer family (there was a controversy in Belgium bc Mathilde paid a series of her father's loans after she married Philip). Now, who was poorer at the moment of their wedding? Again, we won't tell.
Born royals themselves of course have their personal fortune, some of them bigger, other lesser bits. These are mainly concentrated in the monarch's hand, crown princes and crown princesses normally have a fraction of that and the spares (the likes of Carl Philip and Madeleine) even less. William and Harry are no fair game for comparisons in this, they are not in the first line of succession, that would be Charles and they inherited a relatively vast fortune from Diana "thanks" to her unfortunately early death (she would have probably spent quite a lot of that by now would she still be well and alive).
Apanages: I don't even understand the issue here. Anyone who is part of the royal household as a family member of the monarch in any of the monarchies gets some apanage, per head. That is, in Sweden: apart from the king himself Silvia, Victoria, Daniel, Carl Philip, Sofia and Madaleine. Their children included. Chris O'Neill DOES NOT get anything from either the king's personal money or taxpayer's money. Everyone else does get taxpayer's money since the royal household gets roughly $7 million each year from the Swedish state as appanage for the Court Administration (it's for travels, personal expenses, court admin personnel like dresser, secretary etc. They receive an additional $6.5 million for Palace Administration, upkeeping of their residences and the royal collections). Then they have an income from the lease and rent of royal properties.
    It's all there on kungahuset.se

    1. ZL, thank you for your efforts! And I really like the saying in your family: "Anything you read online proves nothing but you have internet access" - that is GREAT!

    2. Thank you, Coralie. Really not a lot of effort. The truth is, I also have my personal preferences and antipathies towards some royals and it's sometimes hard to put those apart. I bet I use a less kinder tone when talking about someone I don't like. But that doesn't mean I let that influence me when I comment on fashion. I apply the same rules for everyone, regardless of whether I like or loathe her. And really nobody asked me here who do I like and who do I not. If anyone ever asks I'm ready to tell who and why, it's no secret and I must tell I just don't believe when someone says "oh, I don't dislike anyone, I'm so perfectly serene and balanced" - bullsh*t, there's no impartiality between humans. But until someone asks I try not to push my agenda, not even when I'm positively biased. It's not that this is some kind of genius rule I invented but I think it's what we all shall do here.

I have one question for you, are you still drunk after New Year party?

    1. That "car" comment came as a segment in a response from another person. I did not "remember" to talk about cars while looking at the photo, did I? I spoke of them as a follow-up on an answer. If other people wouldn't have disagreed with me and started all of this, I would have talked about cars would I? Go back and see my "talk" with Blondiini. Btw the two of us are cool with each other. Even if we disagree. I don't know what your problem is to intrude yourself in our the conversation. We agreed on other posts. Blondiini was actually nice to me and I to her on another posts.
Maybe you drank too much champagne without realizing it?
PS. If I want to talk about cars, it's my right. Again, respect it.
Maybe you should read your comment about Juan Carlos. LOL

    2. Raquel I think the issue is that you keep battling every comment made. It is like you must have the last word. Over and over and over. You commented. As is your right. Others replied to explain as is their right and you repeatedly reply back with all the reasons you are right. Why? All of this info is out there. Yes it is fine to discuss such things but it seems to me that one lone picture of Carl amd Sofia has resulted in 82 comments ? Not even about the picture. Again this is ok and I welcome you to this blog. But this blog pretty much sticks to fashion. It is a small group of regulars and new views is welcomed as far as I can tell. We tend to all get along. There are a "few" who are your "super royalist" and none of us pay them much attention. You will soon learn who they are. I would say that all of speak our mind and most of us are not rabid about any of the families. Yes we all have favs. Natural. But we can also say our favs missed the mark. The only time we speak up is when it is something not nice and not about the post. Example~ there is one here ...2 actually that will bash Kate even when it is not about Kate. That is crapola in my opnion and I tend to say something. I am learning to ignore them. Truly there is no need to just keep commenting over and over as you can see it is a stalemate. But please comment. We just do not go into threads that are 300 posts like some other blogs. I think you will find that many here are very in the know about the royals. I have learned much here. This has become my favorite blog because I really enjoy the group here. I hope that you will too.

I am not scolding or trying to be mean here. Just explaining how this one works. Hellen the admin tends to leave us to our own mgmt here. We all have our opinions. That is great but in this topic as I said way up ^^^^ this is one that is heated and can take a nasty turn. Most are very set in their views. No amount of debate will change that in my very humble opinion.

So ~ welcome! Hang on and chat w us. We are really a likeable group.

    3. excuse me Dianne. I battle every comment? And the other people here didn't reply. In fact this all started because someone reply to me. I didn't started anything. "as if your right" laughable! Like other s are the ones that are right too. It's opinions. I don't believe that all the luxury comes from "private" fortunes. And that is real evidences of that, that includes all I talked about. Some prefer to believe that they are soooo wealthy and humble that they would never let the people pay anything. I believe I'm realistic.

Plus, these comments aren't all for me right? You intrude yourself in my conversation with Blondiini and reply many times. So let's not pretend that I am just writing comments alone about things. It's was a discussion between several people. I agree. I believe this should be over. I have my opinion, people have there's. Im fine and I respect people's opinions. :)

      Thank for welcoming me. :)

    4. Diane, very well said.
I'm quite new to this blog and I love it!
It's the new year and I'm sure the royals will soon come out of their holiday hibernation (well, Denmark certainly gave us something to look at) and we can again share opinions about their clothes.

    5. Ok extended the olive branch Raquel only for you to jump at me with the same topic.

As to 'intruding' into your thread with Blondiini? Um that is what we do. I see you 'intruding' all ove this blog dear.

I think I am just going to avoid any interaction going forward because frankly I feel you have some kind of issue and opinion that is beyond all of us. Voicing an opinion is one thing but raising over and over with a word change each time is ridiculous. This just ended with many just walking away from the topic.

The fact that you cannot take an attempt to remedy this whole thing and some genuine kindnesa speaks volumes.

I am over this thread and....you.

      Ciao

Unbelievable ~ my professional background wants to go further but I will refrain. You seem to be "rather joyful" about it all. Biting my tongue.

Thanks Heather I am glad you are here and it is fun discussing and learning and laughing with you daily :)
