  1. I never tire of the Queen's winter, warm, fur collared/cuffed dress!

    1. She got us accustomed to it! :)
She really knows how to dress nicely :)

  3. The Queen has a style all her own and she carries it off so well.
Mary looks very elegant - and 10 years younger than she looked at the earlier new year event. Perhaps her hair style is a bit too girlish but it suits her. And the simplicity of the jewellery is a definite plus.
I'm not sure about the mix of fabrics in the dress but the colour and the overall look is lovely.

    2. I think the same. Maybe some non-invasive cosmetic treatment?

    4. Yes, her face looks fuller and to be honest that doesn't suite her. Before she met Frederik her face was also fuller because she had more weight and i did not like her looks than, and lately I see that face coming back on her.

  8. Sometimes I worry that the Queen may fall forward with all the regalia 😜😉 perhaps that is one reason why she sits? Jk

    Mary looks wonderful as usual!

  9. I also find it interesting that the Danish take the glove off to shake hands as opposed to other families (that still wear gloves).

    1. I noticed that too! Didn't know why everyone was only wearing one glove and holdng the other.

    2. That it is what we do in Europe. We would never shake hands with glove on. It would be considered very bad manner.

    4. Interesting Kristina. I am not sure I noticed this before. I know that only Queen Elizabeth and sometimes Camilla keep gloves on. But then in the cold they all seem to do that 🤔 I have noticed Maxima with one glove on and one off. Thanks for the info.

    5. I read once that Queen Elizabeth never takes off her glove when shaking hands but as they said it is because very often it is too many hands to shake and too many germs.
To me it is strange explanation.

  11. I read that Mary's dress is a recycled version of the one she wore at the same event in 2010!

  12. Mary has had filler injections for a while now. They are done very well hence why you cant really notice. Looking stunning as usual.

  13. Mary looks lovely as usual, although I prefer this gown with the jacket. I think the "difference" in Mary's appearance is the soft focus lense or slightly blurred appearance of the photos.

Personally I am tired of seeing the Queen in the same gown each year.

Prince Henrik came out of retirement the other night, yet he is nowhere to be seen at this event... interesting.

  15. I think it's sad she has resorted to fillers. I noticed it first when she came back from Harvard. She has an opportunity in her role to demonstrate ageing naturally. She is already starting to look plastic, I hope she doesn't go further.

  16. I think Mary looks lovely, hair and all and the dress is a nice piece (I love the closed keyhole detail on the front of her dress and I find the fabric combination a well executed thing). It's the colour that somehow washes her out. I think I'd like the look more with some vivid red lipstick.
Indeed she has had fillers for some years. You can notice it when her face is a tiny bit bloated on some spots, it's an appearance immediately after the treatment. Then the whole thing settles down and she looks more or less like before, minus the heavier wrinkles. I had a colleague who had it regularly, it's unmistakable. Personally I don't really get why she does it, my gut instinct is she would look better with some wrinkles but with her normal face shape (without the too round, too full cheeks) but I guess it's her way of dealing with the limelight she gets as crown princess and if her husband likes it and it doesn't get out of control then I don't see that as a big problem.

I remember reading somewhere that Margrethe would change her dress this year for this New Year's reception. Well, apparently she didn't. It must be an extremely comfy piece, from how she clings to it :)

Queen Margrethe always wears the same ugly gowns, and huge furs. When is she going to abdicate? Frederick and Mary would be great as king and queen of Denmark.

  18. Diplomatenempfang in Dänemark.
